Pontypridd United AFC is a Welsh football club, based in Pontypridd. The club play at USW Sports Park on Treforest Industrial Estate. The club plays in the Cymru Premier.

Upper Boat (Welsh: Glan-Bad) is a village on the southernmost outskirts of the town of Pontypridd, within the electoral ward of Hawthorn, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, and comprises part of the Treforest Industrial Estate. Historically part of Glamorgan, it fell within the parish of Eglwysilan.

Nantgarw Colliery was a coal mine and later developed Coking coal works, located in the village on Nantgarw, Mid Glamorgan, Wales located just north of Cardiff. Opened in 1910, it closed in 1986. The site is now redeveloped as the industrial estate Parc Nantgarw.

Treforest Estate railway station (also Trefforest Estate, Welsh: Ystad Trefforest) is a small railway station in Treforest, near Cardiff, built to serve the workers and visitors of Treforest Industrial Estate. It is located on the Merthyr Line, 8.7 miles (14 km) north-west of Cardiff Central. Passenger services are provided by Transport for Wales. The station is built around a central island platform, which is accessible from a subway.

Nantgarw is a village in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, near Cardiff. From an electoral and administrative perspective Nantgarw falls within the ward of Taffs Well, a village some 2+1⁄2 miles (4 km) south, but historically fell within the boundaries of Caerphilly, which is a major town located less than 2+1⁄2 miles (4 km) to the east. The original village was almost entirely destroyed by the development of the A470 trunk road, which was situated at the location of the current A468 junction. Located close to the A470, Nantgarw is within easy reach of the town of Pontypridd (5+1⁄2 miles (9 km) to the northwest) and Cardiff City centre (around 7+1⁄2 miles (12 km) further south). Nantgarw is the home of the Nantgarw tradition of folk dancing.

Upper Boat railway station was a former station which served Upper Boat, Rhondda Cynon Taf, between 1911 and 1931.

Mynydd Meio is a 322-metre-high hill in the county borough of Caerphilly in South Wales. Parts of its western slopes fall within Rhondda Cynon Taf county borough. Its eastern slopes drop away to Cwm yr Aber between Caerphilly and Abertridwr and its western slopes to the valley of the Taf. The high point is just over 200 m north of the trig point which sits at 322 metres (1,056 ft) above sea-level. The hill is crossed by the Senghenydd Dyke, an ancient earthwork considered to date from the 13th century and associated with nearby Caerphilly Castle.

Upper Boat Studios was a television studio complex leased to the BBC in mid-2006, and formerly operated by BBC Wales.It is located in Upper Boat, a village on the outskirts of Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taf, near Cardiff in Wales. The studios, previously a seat belt manufacturing factory for the automotive industry, were officially opened on 27 July 2006 (2006-07-27), by Welsh Enterprise Minister Andrew Davies, for the purpose of producing Doctor Who, along with its related spin-off programmes.

Abertridwr railway station was a station which served Abertridwr, in the Welsh county of Glamorgan. It was served by trains on the line from Caerphilly to Senghenydd. The nearest station to Abertridwr is now Aber.
