Nantgarw (High Level) Halt railway station

Nantgarw is a village in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, near Cardiff. From an electoral and administrative perspective Nantgarw falls within the ward of Taffs Well, a village some 2+1⁄2 miles (4 km) south, but historically fell within the boundaries of Caerphilly, which is a major town located less than 2+1⁄2 miles (4 km) to the east. The original village was almost entirely destroyed by the development of the A470 trunk road, which was situated at the location of the current A468 junction. Located close to the A470, Nantgarw is within easy reach of the town of Pontypridd (5+1⁄2 miles (9 km) to the northwest) and Cardiff City centre (around 7+1⁄2 miles (12 km) further south). Nantgarw is the home of the Nantgarw tradition of folk dancing.

Nantgarw Colliery was a coal mine and later developed Coking coal works, located in the village on Nantgarw, Mid Glamorgan, Wales located just north of Cardiff. Opened in 1910, it closed in 1986. The site is now redeveloped as the industrial estate Parc Nantgarw.

The team are based in Taff's Well, in Cardiff, and compete in the Cymru South, the second tier of Welsh football. The team is nicknamed the Wellmen and their home is situated at the Rhiw'r Ddar Stadium in Taffs Well.

Taff's Well (Welsh: Ffynnon Taf) is a semi-rural village, community and electoral ward located at the south easterly tip of Rhondda Cynon Taf, 6 miles (9.7 km) to the north of Cardiff, the capital city of Wales. Known locally as the 'Gates to the Valleys', it is separated from Gwaelod-y-Garth by the River Taff. Taff's Well is distinguished because it contains the only thermal spring in Wales. The tepid water is thought to rise along a fault-line from the Carboniferous Limestone, in somewhat similar manner to the warm springs at Bristol and Bath. Various religious groups regard it as a spiritual site.The Garth Mountain overlooks the village and was the inspiration for the fictional "Ffynnon Garw", featured in the book and film The Englishman who Went up a Hill but Came down a Mountain.

Taff's Well thermal spring is located in Taff's Well (Welsh: Ffynnon Taf) north of Cardiff, South Wales, UK (National Grid Reference ST 11925 83639) and an elevation of about 30 m. It is the only thermal spring in Wales. The spring emerges on the eastern bank of the River Taff and has been contained within a brick well structure and building. Access is via Taff's Well park, a public park, owned and maintained by Rhondda Cynon Taff Council. The spring is enclosed inside a well and stone building constructed in the 19th century. The well built to contain the spring waters is brick lined and approximately 4 m deep. The building has an internal dimension of 5.3 × 3.9 m, and water fills this area. A brick built spiral staircase is incorporated in the inside of the well. There is one visible overflow pipe which emerges several meters to the west of the spring, on the bank of the River Taff. A recent conceptual model considers that the water has journeyed from the limestone outcrops on the north crop of the coalfield over a period of at least five thousand years, but possibly ten thousand. The site is not protected by any statutory legislation; it is however, a registered "Regionally Important Geological Site" or RIGS and a Grade II listed building site

Taffs Well railway station is a railway station serving the village of Taff's Well, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, as well as neighbouring Gwaelod-y-Garth, Cardiff. It is located on the Merthyr Line and the Rhondda Line. Passenger services are provided by Transport for Wales. The station was first opened on this site by the Taff Vale Railway in 1863.

Treforest Estate railway station (also Trefforest Estate, Welsh: Ystad Trefforest) is a small railway station in Treforest, near Cardiff, built to serve the workers and visitors of Treforest Industrial Estate. It is located on the Merthyr Line, 8.7 miles (14 km) north-west of Cardiff Central. Passenger services are provided by Transport for Wales. The station is built around a central island platform, which is accessible from a subway.
