Jaunay-Marigny

Jaunay-Clan (French pronunciation: [ʒonɛ klɑ̃]) is a former commune in the Vienne department, New Aquitaine, western France. On 1 January 2017, it was merged into the new commune Jaunay-Marigny. It is twinned with the town of Cavan, Ireland.

The canton of Jaunay-Marigny (before March 2020: canton of Jaunay-Clan) is an administrative division of the Vienne department, western France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Objectif Mars is a steel multi-launched spinning coaster located at Futuroscope in Chasseneuil-du-Poitou, France. The coaster combines elements of a dark ride and educational technology in order to simulate a daring training session and mission to Mars. It can accommodate children as young as 5–6 years old, provided that they meet the 1.1-metre (43 in) height requirement.

Futuroscope, or Parc du Futuroscope (French pronunciation: ​[paʁk dy fytyʁɔskɔp]), formerly known as Planète Futuroscope, is a French theme park based upon multimedia, cinematographic futuroscope and audio-visual techniques. It has several 3D cinemas and a few 4D cinemas along with other attractions and shows, some of which are the only examples in the world. It is located in the department of Vienne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) north of Poitiers, in the communes of Chasseneuil-du-Poitou and Jaunay-Clan. The park had 1.83 million visitors in 2015. In total, 50 million visitors have been to the park since it opened in 1987.

Futuroscope is a TGV railway station located near Poitiers, France. It is situated on the Paris–Bordeaux railway. It gives a direct access to the park Futuroscope. It opened on 28 May 2000.

Chasseneuil-du-Poitou (French pronunciation: ​[ʃasnœj dy pwatu], literally Chasseneuil of Poitou) is a commune in the Vienne department, administrative region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, western France. It lies 7 km north of the centre of Poitiers. Its inhabitants are called the Chasseneuillais. Chasseneuil-du-Poitou is the home of the Parc du Futuroscope, and the Technopole du Futuroscope, making up part of the École nationale supérieure de mécanique et d'aérotechnique de Poitiers (English: Poitiers' National superior school of mechanics and aeronautics).Former French Prime Minister and Senator Jean-Pierre Raffarin served as assistant to the Mayor between 1995 and 2001.
