Bexbach station

Bexbach (German pronunciation: [ˈbɛksˌbaχ] ) is a town in the Saarpfalz district, in Saarland, Germany. It is situated on the river Blies, approximatively 6 km east of Neunkirchen, and 25 km northeast of Saarbrücken. The Saarländisches Bergbaumuseum (Saarland Mining Museum) is located in the town.

Bexbach Power Station is a coal-fired power station in the Bexbach municipality of Saarland, Germany. It has an output capacity of 773 megawatts. The chimney of the power station is 240 metres high. It can store up to 200,000 tons of coal. The first power station in Bexbach, called the St. Barbara, was inaugurated in 1953. It had a capacity of only 100 MW. In 1979 construction of today's facility began. It became operational in 1983. 75% of the power plant is owned by KBV Bexbach Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH (EnBW Kraftwerke AG 2/3; STEAG Power Saar GmbH 1/3) and 25% is owned by EnBW Kraftwerke AG.

The Glan (German pronunciation: [ɡlaːn] ) is a river in southwestern Germany, right tributary of the Nahe. It is approximately 68 km (42 miles) long. It rises in the Saarland, northwest of Homburg. It flows generally north, through Rhineland-Palatinate, and empties into the Nahe near Odernheim am Glan, at Staudernheim, across the Nahe from Bad Sobernheim. Other towns along the Glan are Altenglan, Glan-Münchweiler, Lauterecken and Meisenheim.

In addition, individual Regional-Express services on line RE1 (one of five services branded as Süwex—"south west express") stop. At the station there are Park&Ride parking spaces.

Until End 1973 was Jägersburg an independent municipality in the former Homburg district. Jägersburg has many lakes and ponds. The 3 lakes are the Möhlwoog (7,4 ha), the Brückweiher (7,09 ha) and the Schloßweiher (Castle lake) (1,71 ha). During the 18th century, Schloss Jägersburg was the favourite palace of Christian IV, Duke of Zweibrücken. However, today nothing remains anymore of these times.

The Ellenfeldstadion is a grass surface, multi-purpose stadium in Neunkirchen, Saarland, Germany. It was built in 1911 and 1912, completely reconstructed between 1962 and 1964 and partially renovated in 2002. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home of Borussia Neunkirchen. The stadium is also used by the American football team Saarland Hurricanes from Saarbrücken. The stadium has a capacity of 23,400 spectators.

Neunkirchen Hauptbahnhof is a railway station in the district town of Neunkirchen in the German state of Saarland. Here the Nahe Valley Railway (Nahetalbahn) intersects with the Homburg–Neunkirchen railway and the Fischbach Valley Railway (Fischbachtalbahn). It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 3 station.
