Shawnee Mission South High School is a high school located in Overland Park, Kansas, United States, serving students in grades 9-12. The school is one of several public high schools located within Shawnee Mission and operated by Shawnee Mission USD 512 school district. The school colors are green and gold and the school mascot is the Raider. The average annual enrollment is approximately 1,600 students. The school newspaper is called The Patriot.

Town Center Plaza is an open-air shopping center in Leawood, Kansas, United States. It is home to a number of upscale stores with few or no other locations in the Kansas City area, including Allen Edmonds, Arhaus, Brooks Brothers, Bonobos, Crate & Barrel, L.L. Bean, Peloton, Purple Mattress, a Restoration Hardware Gallery store, and Sundance. It opened in 1996 with Jacobson's as the main anchor store. After Jacobson's closed in 2002, it was converted to The Jones Store in 2003 and Macy's in 2006. Another original tenant was Galyan's, which became Dick's Sporting Goods in 2004. It and nearby Town Center Crossing (formerly One Nineteen) are owned by Washington Prime Group, formerly WP Glimcher and before that, Glimcher Realty Trust, who bought Town Center Plaza from DDR Corp. for $139 million.

The Herman J. and Ella B. Voigts House is a historic house in Leawood, Kansas, U.S.. It was built in 1923 for Herman J. Voigts, the president of the First National Bank of Olathe, and his wife Ella Busch. It was designed in the Prairie School architectural style. The couple died in 1970 and 1956 respectively, and their daughter Anna Lois Dubach lived in the inherited house until her death in 1992. It was purchased by Barry Grissom in 1993. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since May 18, 1995.

The Overland Park Convention Center, opened in 2002 and hosts on average 330 events each year. The OPCC sits on a 26-acre (110,000 m2) site in Overland Park, the largest suburb in the Kansas City, Missouri metropolitan area and the second largest city in Kansas. The mid-sized convention center features a 60,000-square-foot (5,600 m2) exhibition hall that connects to the 25,000 sq ft (2,300 m2). Edwin C. Eilert Ballroom. The OPCC provides an additional 15,000 sq ft (1,400 m2). of event space of divisible meeting rooms, and 40,000 sq ft (3,700 m2). of pre-function space that proudly houses over 50 selected works of art created by renowned Midwestern artists. OPCC was designed by architectural firm DLR Group. Major partners include Pepsi, Fern Exposition, Fiorella's Jack Stack Barbecue.

Naka-Kon is an annual three-day anime convention held during March at the Overland Park Convention Center and Sheraton Overland Park Hotel at the Convention Center in Overland Park, Kansas. The name of the convention comes from the Japanese word for "center/middle".

Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy is a K-12 community Jewish Day School located on the Jewish Community Campus in Overland Park, Kansas. A private school offering Judaic instruction along with a college-preparatory secular education, HBHA serves about 230-250 students from diverse reform through orthodox backgrounds. A 2005 Blue Ribbon Kansas School, Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy celebrated its 50th anniversary in the 2015–16 school year.

The Sprint World Headquarters Campus is a collection of 17 buildings encompassing 3,900,000-square-foot (360,000 m2) on 200 acres in Overland Park, Kansas that formerly housed the world headquarters of Sprint Corporation, an American telecom company. The buildings were designed by Hillier Architecture (which became RMJM in 2007) based on a theme which Sprint dubbed the "University of Excellence." RMJM had also designed the Basking Ridge, New Jersey headquarters campus of the AT&T Corporation (now the headquarters of Verizon Wireless). The first buildings opened in 1997 as Sprint consolidated operations in 50 buildings in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Most of the buildings are four and five stories tall with the tallest structure being a 175-foot (53 m) clock tower. Included on the campus are an amphitheater for 3,000 people; parking garages for 12,500 cars; athletic fields, and hiking and biking trails with 6,000 trees that connect to public trails outside the campus. 60 percent of the land area was left green. At the time a Sprint official said Sprint opted for a low rise building rather than a tall structure because "communication doesn't happen as well when offices are vertical instead of horizontal." When it was built it was described as the largest office complex in the Midwest.The building was enabled in 1989 when Overland Park gave the company a property tax abatement that called for 50 percent property tax abatement for 10 years and the remaining 50 percent paid initially over 20 years. Overland Park issued $1 billion in revenue bonds in 1997. The abatement expired in 2013.The campus was designed to accommodate 14,500 employees and it reached its maximum capacity at the time of the Nextel-Sprint merger in 2004. Since then Sprint has been downsizing with 11,000 employees (7,300 Sprint employees, the rest contractors) in the complex in 2010. The headquarters for the merged company was consolidated in the building in 2008 when staff moved from Reston, Virginia.In 2009 Sprint began subleasing portions of the complex allocating 800,000 square feet (74,000 m2) to other companies starting with Sprint spin off Embarq (it eventually moved its headquarters to a different building outside the complex) Other subtenants include JPMorgan Retirement Plan Services which moved 800 employees to the complex from its offices on Ward Parkway in December 2009.Other companies in the complex are Apria and CareCentrix with call centers there. KeyBank Real Estate Capital is also moving to the complex. Sprint has announced plans to rebrand the campus including renaming a street from Sprint Parkway to Outlook to accommodate JPMorgan and rebrand the name on the entrances.

Menorah Medical Center is an acute care hospital located in Overland Park, Kansas at 5721 West 119th Street. It is part of the HCA Midwest Division.

The Temple, Congregation B'nai Jehudah is the oldest and largest synagogue in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. Established in 1870 in Kansas City, Missouri, it was a founding member of the Union for Reform Judaism. Its fourth building, designed by Kivett and Myers architects, was a modernist structure that was "striking for its exterior profile and massing and its combination of natural and industrial forms to create an appearance rooted in both primeval nature and futuristic design." Completed in 1969, it was demolished after the congregation relocated to Overland Park, Kansas in 2000. The senior rabbi is Arthur P. Nemitoff, the rabbi is Sarah Smiley, and the rabbi emeritus is Michael R. Zedek.

The school is one of the five high schools operated by Blue Valley USD 229 school district. The school colors are navy blue and silver. The current enrollment is approximately 1,550 students. The principal is Tyson Ostroski.Blue Valley North is a member of the Kansas State High School Activities Association and offers a variety of sports programs. Athletic teams compete in the 6A Division and are known as the "Mustangs". Extracurricular activities are also offered in the form of performing arts, school publications, and clubs.
