The Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway is a linear park located in several Downtown Boston neighborhoods. It consists of landscaped gardens, promenades, plazas, fountains, art, and specialty lighting systems that stretch over one mile through Chinatown, the Financial District, the Waterfront, and North End neighborhoods. Officially opened in October 2008, the 17-acre Greenway sits on land created from demolition of the John F. Fitzgerald Expressway as part of the Big Dig project.The Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway is named after Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, the matriarch of the Kennedy Family who was born in the neighboring North End neighborhood. Her son, Senator Edward M. Kennedy, played an important role in establishing the Greenway. The Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway Conservancy was established as an independently incorporated non-profit organization in 2004 to guide the emerging park system and raise funds for an endowment and operations. In 2008, the State Legislature confirmed the Conservancy as the designated steward of the Rose Kennedy Greenway; the Conservancy operates with a lease from the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority (now Massachusetts Department of Transportation). Since February 2009, the Conservancy has operated the park, leading the maturation of this new civic space, strengthening its physical beauty, and encouraging a sense of a shared community in Boston. The 2008 legislation established a 50%-50% public/private funding model. Through a multi-party funding agreement announced in June 2017, public funds from the State and City represent ~20% of the operating budget, a new Greenway Business Improvement District funds ~20% of the operating budget, and the Greenway Conservancy generates ~60%.

The Thomas P. "Tip" O'Neill Jr. Tunnel (colloquially O'Neill Tunnel) is a highway tunnel built as part of the Big Dig in Boston, Massachusetts. It carries the Central Artery underneath downtown Boston, and is numbered as Interstate 93 (I-93), U.S. Route 1 (US 1), and Route 3. It roughly follows the route of the old elevated Central Artery, though the northbound entrance, at the corner of Kneeland Street and Atlantic Avenue, is somewhat east of the southbound exit (at Kneeland and Albany streets) to allow for a reconfigured interchange with the Massachusetts Turnpike. It runs from the Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge at its north portal—barely 165 feet (50 m) east of the TD Garden sports facility's eastern corner—to Boston's Chinatown at its south portal. The tunnel is named for Tip O'Neill, former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, whose constituency included several of the surrounding communities in Metro Boston.

Two International Place is a Postmodern skyscraper in the Financial District of Boston, Massachusetts. The site is located on a site formerly known as Fort Hill. It is located blocks from the North End, the waterfront, South Station, Downtown Crossing, and the Federal Courthouse. The building was designed by Johnson/Burgee Architects – whose principals are Philip Johnson and John Burgee – and completed in 1992. It is Boston's eleventh-tallest building, standing 538 feet (164 m) tall.

India Wharf (1804-c. 1962) in Boston, Massachusetts, flourished in the 19th century, when it was one of the largest commercial wharves in the port. The structure began in 1804 to accommodate international trade at a time when several other improvements to the Boston waterfront occurred, such as the creation of Broad Street and India Street.

The Boston Harbor Hotel is a luxury hotel overlooking Boston Harbor and the Rose Kennedy Greenway. It is a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.The hotel is the principal occupant of the Rowes Wharf building, completed in 1987, and designed by Adrian Smith while he was working for Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM).

Dolphins of the Sea is a bronze sculpture by Katharine Lane Weems, installed outside the New England Aquarium on Boston's Central Wharf, in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. The sculpture depicts a school of swimming dolphins and measures approximately 4 × 3 × 7 ft. It was copyrighted in 1977. The work was surveyed by the Smithsonian Institution's "Save Outdoor Sculpture!" program in 1997.

The Harbor Towers are two 40-story residential towers located on the waterfront of Boston, Massachusetts, located between the New England Aquarium and the Rowes Wharf mixed-use development. Harbor Towers I, the taller of the two towers, stands at 400.0 feet (121.9 m), while Harbor Towers II rises 396 feet (121 m). Harbor Towers I is in a tie as 29th-tallest building in Boston. They were designed by Henry N. Cobb of I. M. Pei & Partners. Initially built as affordable rental housing, the Harbor Towers opened in 1971. At the time, the area surrounding the project was a warehouse district with derelict abandoned spaces and many surface parking lots.

The Flour and Grain Exchange Building is a 19th-century office building in Boston. Located at 177 Milk Street in the Custom House District, at the edge of the Financial District near the waterfront, it is distinguished by the large black slate conical roof at its western end. It is referred to as the Grain Exchange Building and sometimes as the Boston Chamber of Commerce Building. The exchange building was designated as a Boston Landmark by the Boston Landmarks Commission in 1994. The Flour and Grain Exchange Building was built from 1891 to 1893 for its original occupant, the Boston Chamber of Commerce on land donated for that purpose by Henry Melville Whitney. It was designed by the firm of Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge (now Shepley Bulfinch), founded by the successors of Henry Hobson Richardson, and in the Romanesque Revival style often associated with Richardson. The building exterior is of pink Milford granite.The Flour and Grain Exchange Building is seven stories tall, with two additional stories in a cylindrical turret at the west end. The ornate facade features three-storey roundheaded windows at the middle floors. Triangular attic dormers topped by crocket finials at the turret give a crown-like aspect to the conical roof.The Boston Chamber of Commerce was created by the merger of two bodies, the Boston Commercial Exchange and the Boston Produce Exchange, in 1885. Whitney, an industrialist and Chamber member, donated land for a building for the new body. Construction by the Norcross Brothers firm began in 1890 and the building was dedicated in January 1892. The Chamber occupied part of the building (the remainder was let to banks and other concerns) until 1902, when it was occupied by the Flour and Grain Exchange. A plaque in the building commemorates its hosting of the 5th International Congress of Chambers of Commerce and of Commercial and Industrial Associations in 1912, attended by American President William Howard Taft and delegates from fifty-five countries.A restoration of the Flour and Grain Exchange Building facade was undertaken in 1988 by The Beal Companies. The building is a designated Boston landmark. Christopher Kimball's Milk Street moved into the building's ground floor in 2016. Other organizations which have occupied the building in the 21st century include Perry Dean Rogers Architects, Global Rescue, and the Beal Companies.

The Aquarium Garage Development, was a proposed supertall skyscraper in Boston, Massachusetts. Aquarium Garage Development was intended to be tied as the tallest building in Boston, with Trans National Place. If built, it would have surpassed the 60-story John Hancock Tower by 10 stories and about 210 feet (64 meters). The project was cancelled in 2012.

Echo of the Waves (also known as Dolphin or Whale) is a sculpture by Susumu Shingu, installed outside the New England Aquarium, in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. It was completed in September 1981, and dedicated on July 6, 1983. The abstract, kinetic structure is made of painted steel and Teflon coated fiberglass, and rests on a painted steel base. It was surveyed as part of the Smithsonian Institution's "Save Outdoor Sculpture!" program in 1994.

The Belvidere/Dalton tower is a planned 60-story, 699' tower on the grounds of Boston's Christian Science Center adjacent to the Prudential Tower complex on a small, triangular open space owned by the Christian Science Center above the entrance ramps to the complex's parking garage. There will also be a mid-rise, 285' tower built across the street on a current parking lot. The taller tower will be of mixed hotel/residential usage with first-floor retail, while the mid-rise tower will be fully residential with first-floor retail as well. The buildings have been designed by Henry Cobb of Pei Cobb Freed who also designed Hancock Place, Boston's tallest building. Upon completion, the Belvidere/Dalton tower will be the third-tallest tower in Boston. The hotel and residences will be run by the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, making Boston one of only a few cities with two or more Four Seasons Hotels.

One International Place is a Postmodern skyscraper in the Financial District of Boston, Massachusetts. Built in 1987, and designed by Johnson/Burgee Architects – whose principals are Philip Johnson and John Burgee – it is Boston's 7th-tallest building, standing 600 feet (183 m) tall and housing 46 floors. The building is very prominent in the city's skyline, particularly when viewed from Boston Harbor. The building has three separate elements. These consist of the tower itself, as well as two smaller components (27- and 19-stories). It also is linked by a central dome and winter garden with Two International Place.
