Rupert State Forest

The Jenks Tavern, also known historically as the East Rupert Hotel and the Hotel G. Jenks, is a historic public accommodations house at the junction of West Dorset Road with Vermont Routes 315 and 30 in Rupert, Vermont. Built about 1807, it is a well-preserved example of an early 19th-century traveler's accommodation in southern Vermont. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. The building is now a private residence, the home of American playwright and author John Nassivera.

The Kent Neighborhood Historic District encompasses a little-altered early 19th-century rural neighborhood of Dorset, Vermont. Centered at the junction of Dorset West Road and Nichols Hill Road, the area is also historically significant as the site in 1775 of the first meetings that culminated in Vermont's period of independence prior to become the 14th United States state. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Dorset Village Historic District encompasses a significant portion of the village center of Dorset, Vermont. Centered at the junction of Church Street, Kent Hill Road, and Vermont Route 30, the village was developed between the late 18th and early 20th centuries, and has a number of well-preserved unusual features, including sidewalks of marble from local quarries. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, and was enlarged to the west in 1997.

Dorset is the primary settlement and a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Dorset, Bennington County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, the CDP had a population of 360, out of 2,133 in the entire town. It is in northern Bennington County, in the western part of the town of Dorset, in a valley between Spruce Peak to the west, Mount Aeolus to the southeast, and Dorset Mountain to the northeast. Vermont Route 30 passes through the center of the village, leading southeast 6 miles (10 km) to Manchester Center and northwest 8 miles (13 km) to Pawlet. The Mettawee River runs through the northern part of the CDP, flowing northwest to the southern end of Lake Champlain at Whitehall, New York.

The Manley-Lefevre House is a historic house at 1161 Dorset West Road in Dorset, Vermont. Built out of marble about 1820 and sympathetically enlarged 1908–1927, it is the centerpiece of a 100-acre (40 ha) farm estate that is now home to the Marble House Project, an arts organization offering residencies. The property was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Long Trail School is an independent college-preparatory coeducational day school serving students in grades 6-12 located in Dorset, Vermont, United States. The school provides financial aid to qualified students. Many area students are eligible for some amount of tax-funded tuition assistance.

Equinox Mountain is the highest peak of the Taconic Range and the second-highest point in southern Vermont, after Stratton Mountain. It rises nearly 3,000 feet (914 meters) above its eastern footings in Manchester, giving Equinox the third-greatest topographic prominence among the state's mountains (after Mansfield and Killington). A summit observation building is reached via a privately operated toll road, which passes near various towers used for broadcast and other purposes.

The Charterhouse of the Transfiguration is the only Carthusian monastery in the United States, located on Mt. Equinox, in Sandgate, Vermont. It was founded in 1960 under the initiative of Fr. Thomas Verner Moore and completed in 1970. It superseded the earlier monastery at Sky Farm and Grace Farm (Charterhouse of Our Lady of Bethlehem), near Whitingham, Vermont, which Fr. Thomas had established in 1950.The 7,000-acre (28 km2) property was donated by Joseph George Davidson, a retired Union Carbide Corporation executive.The charterhouse was designed by architect Victor Christ-Janer & Associates of New Canaan, Connecticut, and fabricated of Vermont granite blocks.

WEQX is an FM radio station located at 102.7 MHz and broadcasting from Manchester, Vermont, United States, with an effective radiated power of 1,250 watts at 759 meters (equivalent to 50,000 watts at 150 meters). Their tower is located on nearby Equinox Mountain. Because of its location and power the station is able to reach Albany-Schenectady-Troy (while distantly), Saratoga Springs and Glens Falls along with southern and central Vermont, western Massachusetts, and western New Hampshire. It broadcasts an alternative rock format which is more varied than most stations owned by larger corporations. Despite being located in Vermont, WEQX has been voted the best radio station for the Capital Region (Albany, New York) by the Metroland alternative newsweekly for 15 years running (up to 2006) and voted best radio station of 2002 and 2006 by the Albany Times Union. It has also won Best Radio Station of the Year awards from Rolling Stone magazine in 1993, 1995 and 1996. In addition, the Album Network (a radio industry magazine) voted the station the Best Alternative Radio Station in the Country (small market), in 1995.

The Rupert Village Historic District encompasses the 19th-century village center of Rupert, Vermont. Extending along Vermont Route 153 and adjacent roads, the village preserves a 19th-century landscape and a variety of structures important in the life and economy of the period. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2022.

Dorset is a town in Bennington County, Vermont, United States. The population was 2,133 at the 2020 census. Dorset is famous for being the location of Cephas Kent's Inn, where four meetings of the Convention that signed the Dorset Accords led to the independent Vermont Republic and future statehood. Dorset is the site of America's oldest marble quarry and is the birthplace of Bill W., co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous. East Dorset is the site of the Wilson House and the Griffith Library. The town is named after the English county of Dorset. The East Dorset marble quarry had been established by Bill W.'s great grandfather and stayed in the family for three generations. Marble from these quarries provided stone for the New York Public Library Main Branch building in New York City. The quarry closed and during the summer months serves as a popular swimming hole.The Dorset town center is defined as the Dorset census-designated place and had a population of 249 at the 2010 census.
