Equinox Mountain is the highest peak of the Taconic Range and the second-highest point in southern Vermont, after Stratton Mountain. It rises nearly 3,000 feet (914 meters) above its eastern footings in Manchester, giving Equinox the third-greatest topographic prominence among the state's mountains (after Mansfield and Killington). A summit observation building is reached via a privately operated toll road, which passes near various towers used for broadcast and other purposes.

WEQX is an FM radio station located at 102.7 MHz and broadcasting from Manchester, Vermont, United States, with an effective radiated power of 1,250 watts at 759 meters (equivalent to 50,000 watts at 150 meters). Their tower is located on nearby Equinox Mountain. Because of its location and power the station is able to reach Albany-Schenectady-Troy (while distantly), Saratoga Springs and Glens Falls along with southern and central Vermont, western Massachusetts, and western New Hampshire. It broadcasts an alternative rock format which is more varied than most stations owned by larger corporations. Despite being located in Vermont, WEQX has been voted the best radio station for the Capital Region (Albany, New York) by the Metroland alternative newsweekly for 15 years running (up to 2006) and voted best radio station of 2002 and 2006 by the Albany Times Union. It has also won Best Radio Station of the Year awards from Rolling Stone magazine in 1993, 1995 and 1996. In addition, the Album Network (a radio industry magazine) voted the station the Best Alternative Radio Station in the Country (small market), in 1995.

Sandgate is a town in Bennington County, Vermont, United States. The population was 387 at the 2020 census.

The Bennington-5 Representative District is a one-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Bennington-5 District includes all of the Bennington County towns of Arlington, Sandgate, and Sunderland, as well as: ...that part of Rupert encompassed within a boundary beginning at the intersection of the New York state line with VT 153; then northeasterly along the centerline of VT 153 to the intersection with East Street; then easterly along the centerline of East Street to the intersection with Kent Hollow Road; then southerly along the centerline of Kent Hollow Road to the Sandgate town line. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The one member Bennington-5 District had a population of 3,718 in that same census, 8.4% below the state average.

Burr and Burton Academy (BBA) is a private, non-profit, co-educational, day and boarding school in Manchester, Vermont, United States. It was established in 1829 through a bequest from local businessman Joseph Burr.In addition to serving local students and families, BBA offers a boarding program for international students.

Manchester is a town in, and one of two shire towns (county seats) of, Bennington County, Vermont. The population was 4,484 at the 2020 census.Manchester Village, an incorporated village, and Manchester Center, are settlement centers within the town. The Hard Farm Homestead, also known as the Zera Hard House, is a historic farm complex on River Road in Manchester, Vermont. Consisting of an early 19th-century Cape, an 1840s Greek Revival house, and a number of 19th-century outbuildings, it represents a rare surviving assemblage of farm buildings in the town. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Rupert State Forest covers 363 acres (1.47 km2) in Rupert, Vermont in Bennington County. The forest is managed by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation. It consists of two parcels located on the Rupert-Dorset town line that were a gift to the state in 1959, along with another 27 acres from the state in 2013. There is no legal right-of-way to these lands.

The Equinox House Historic District encompasses the historic center of the village of Manchester, Vermont. It includes a small group of civic and commercial buildings around the junction of Main Street (Vermont Route 7A) and Union Street, with the luxury Equinox House hotel as its primary focus. The district, developed as a tourist destination in the late 1800s, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, and enlarged in 1980. It is a small portion of the Manchester Village Historic District.

Manchester is an incorporated village in the town of Manchester, Bennington County, Vermont, United States. The population was 783 at the 2020 census.The village center, located in the vicinity of Vermont Route 7A, Union Street and Taconic Avenue, was added to the National Register of Historic Places as Manchester Village Historic District in 1984. The district includes 65 contributing and 19 non-contributing properties spread over an area of 90 acres (360,000 m2). The centerpiece of the district is the Equinox House, which is listed separately on the National Register.

The American Museum of Fly Fishing is a museum in Manchester, Vermont, United States, that preserves and exhibits artifacts related to American angling.
