River Ise and Meadows

Newton, sometimes called Newton in the Willows, is a small village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Newton and Little Oakley, in the North Northamptonshire district, in the ceremonial county of Northamptonshire, England. The village is in the Ise valley. Newton and Little Oakley had a population at the 2001 census of 147, decreasing to 126 at the 2011 Census. It has a combined parish council with Geddington. The villages name means 'New farm/settlement'.The Grade II* listed parish church of St Faith in Newton is now deconsecrated. It is largely 14th century, with a 15th-century tower and chancel of 1858 by William Slater. The novelist J. L. Carr fought to prevent the redundancy of the church. The church building was run as Newton Field Centre, an educational centre but closed as unviable in 2018 and has only one trustee. A dovecote, northeast of the church, is a Grade I listed building; it is described as an "outstanding dovecote, exhibiting craftsmanship of the highest quality". It was associated with a mansion of the Tresham family. In 1607, Newton was the site of the suppression of the Midland Revolt, a peasants' revolt against enclosure; at least 46 rebels were killed. A memorial has been erected by the church where prisoners were held.

Barford Wood and Meadows or Barford Meadow Nature Reserve is a 36 hectare nature reserve east of Rushton in Northamptonshire. It is managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire. The north-eastern end is part of the River Ise and Meadows Site of Special Scientific Interest.The site was formerly part of the medieval Royal Forest of Rockingham. It has diverse habitats, with hay meadows, parkland and recently planted woodland. There are many butterflies such as large skippers, orange-tips, small skippers and small coppers. Mammals include baders and red foxes.There is access by a footpath from Rushton.

Great Oakley is an outer suburb of Corby, in the civil parish of Corby, in the North Northamptonshire district, in the ceremonial county of Northamptonshire, England. It is situated approximately two miles south west of the town centre and five miles from Kettering. It was represented on Corby Borough Council by one councillor. The population of the Great Oakley Ward of Corby Borough Council at the 2011 Census was 2,248.Great (and Little) Oakley lie in the upper reaches of the Harpers Brook on a narrow strip of limestone, sandstone and clay where the valley has cut down through the extensive boulder clay capped plateau. This permeable geology presumably provided a narrow strip of open pasture, the oak ley, along the valley within a broad tract of woodland on the boulder clay either side. The townships extended across the boulder clay to tributaries of the Harpers Brook on the south and of the Willow Brook on the north west, where it abutted extensive woodland which lay in the forest.

Kettering Buccleuch Academy is a mixed all-through school and sixth form located in Kettering in the English county of Northamptonshire. The school educates pupils from the age of 4 to 18. The school was formed in 2009 from the merger of Avondale Infants School, Avondale Junior School and Montagu School (secondary). The name of the school refers to the Dukes of Buccleuch, who have had connections with Kettering stretching back for almost 500 years. Great Oakley Meadow is a 1.9 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Great Oakley, on the southern outskirts of Corby in Northamptonshire. It is managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.The prominent medieval ridge and furrow at the southern end of the site displays the ancient field system of Great Oakley. The dry ridges have diverse flora including cowslip, knapweed and quaking-grass. The furrows are poorer in species, while the northern end, which borders Harpers Brook, has plants characteristic of wet ground, such as cuckooflower and hairy sedge. The field is bordered by hedges, which provide seeds and insects for birds.There is access from Headway, opposite Frith Close.

Stoke Wood End Quarter is a 0.7-hectare (1.7-acre) nature reserve west of Corby in Northamptonshire. It is managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire, and is part of the Stoke and Bowd Lane Woods Site of Special Scientific Interest.The main trees in this wood are oak, ash, hazel and blackthorn. There are flowers such as early purple orchid and twayblade, birds including treecreepers and tawny owls, while comma and small tortoiseshell butterflies feed in open glades in summer.Stoke Wood is divided into three areas. The eastern half is managed by the Woodland Trust and the western area is privately owned. The End Quarter is a small triangular area which stretches south from the middle. There is access to the Wildlife Trust site by a footpath from the B669, Desborough Road and then through the Woodland Trust area.

Weekley is a small village and civil parish in the English county of Northamptonshire, on the outskirts of Kettering. The village's name probably means, 'wood/clearing by the Romano-British vicus', a trading settlement. There are two known Romano-British destinations in the surrounding area. On the other hand, 'wych-elm wood/clearing' might be an alternative derivation.At the time of the 2001 census, the parish's population was 242 people, increasing to 297 at the 2011 Census.Many houses in Weekley have thatched roofs. The busy A4300 road runs through the village.

Rockingham Road was a football stadium in Kettering, Northamptonshire, England. It was home to Kettering Town F.C. from 1897 until 2011. At the time of its closure, the ground had a capacity of 6,264, of which 1,800 was seated. In September 2017, the land was sold by the owner, Ben Pickering Limited. The site was first identified as a potential site for housing in 2005 by the local authority, and press reports indicated that the new owner was likely to use the land for a housing development.During November 2017, the entire stadium and associated structures were demolished and the site cleared for redevelopment.

The first recorded match on the ground was in 1960, when the ground held Northamptonshire Second XI played the Surrey Second XI in the Second XI Championship.
