Orange station (Metro-North)

The Oyster River is a 4.1-mile-long (6.6 km) stream located in the state of Connecticut in New Haven County. It flows south through Orange and forms the boundary of West Haven and Orange and further downstream the boundary of West Haven and Milford. It empties into Long Island Sound, just south of Route 162 at Oyster River Point. Swans, box turtles and many other animals call this area home. In colonial times, Oyster River Point was also known as Clarke's Point. Around 1840, Peter Aimes bought the land from the Clark family, and the area became known as Aimes Point. The Aimes’ family home, Martinstow, an impressive Gothic structure designed by James Renwick, overlooked the Oyster River and the Sound. After the family sold the property in 1949, the name “Aimes Point” slowly went out of common usage and the area became more commonly known as “Oyster River Point”. The river has dealt with issues of flooding and pollution in recent years. In 2007, a movement was put together by local residents to gain aid from the local government to help with these issues.

Woodmont is a borough of the city of Milford, in New Haven County, Connecticut. The population was 1,488 at the 2010 census. It was first created by Special Act of Connecticut General Assembly in 1893 as the Woodmont Improvement Association. In 1903 it became the Woodmont Association. It became a municipality in 1957 when the Connecticut General Assembly passed House Bill No. 2443 "An Act to change the Association status of Woodmont to Borough status". Woodmont is one of 9 Boroughs in Connecticut. The government of the borough works closely with the city of Milford to provide services such as road maintenance, snow plowing, street lighting, beach maintenance, and supplemental police service. There is an extra yearly tax assessment, beyond what is owed to the city of Milford, for borough residents to pay for services in excess of what the city of Milford provides to the rest of Milford.

The Hebrew Congregation of Woodmont is an historic, 1926 beach (summer, resort) synagogue at 15-17 Edgefield Avenue in Woodmont, Connecticut, United States. The synagogue was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

The William Andrew House, also known as the Richard Bryan House or the Bryan-Andrew House, is a historic house museum at 131 Old Tavern Road in Orange, Connecticut. Built either about 1750 or 1775, it is a well-preserved local example of Georgian colonial residential architecture, and is Orange's oldest surviving building. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. It is now a house museum operated by the local historical society.

Joseph A. Foran High School is a public high school located in Milford, Connecticut. The school serves about 1,000 students in grades 9–12 in the Milford Public Schools system.

The Cove River is a stream in New Haven County in the U.S. state of Connecticut. It rises in Orange and flows through West Haven before discharging into Long Island Sound at Sea Bluff Beach by Bradley Point. Dams along the river form the Maltby Lakes, reservoirs of the South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority, as well as Phipps Lake. A project was initiated in 2021 to replace the flood gates near the mouth to regulate water flow into the salt march upstream. This project also includes a new aluminum truss pedestrian bridge at the mouth to connect Bradley Point Park and Sea Bluff Beach.

West Haven is a city in New Haven County, Connecticut, United States, and a coastal city of Long Island Sound. At the 2020 census, the population of the city was 55,584.

West Haven High School is a secondary school located in West Haven, Connecticut, which educates students in grades 9–12. The mascot of West Haven is the Blue Devil.

Connecticut Post Mall (formerly known as Westfield Connecticut Post) is a shopping mall, located on the Boston Post Road (Route 1) in Milford, Connecticut. It is currently the largest mall in the state of Connecticut and is partially owned and operated by Centennial Properties. The mall currently houses over 215 retail stores. The anchor stores are Macy's, Boscov's, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Target. The mall also features a Dave & Buster's and a 14 screen Cinemark (formerly Rave Cinemas), including an IMAX theater.

The Colonel Asa Platt House is a historic house at 2 Tyler City Road in Orange, Connecticut. Built about 1811, it is a high-quality example of Federal period architecture, which is likely the work of New Haven builder David Hoadley. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

West Haven station is a commuter rail station on the Metro-North Railroad's New Haven Line, located in West Haven, Connecticut. The station was built on Sawmill Road between Hood Terrace and Railroad Avenue, in the Elm Street-Wagner Place neighborhood. West Haven has 660 parking spaces in on-site lots (with the possibility of 300–400 more in a parking garage in a refurbished industrial building north of the station if warranted by future demand) as well as bicycle facilities. The station is accessible. West Haven has full service on the New Haven Line, as well as from the handful of Shore Line East trains which run past New Haven to Stamford.After a decade of studies, planning, and controversy over the station site, ground was broken for the station on November 10, 2010. The $80 million project included the station, with two 12-car platforms, a glass station building, and an overhead pedestrian bridge, as well as the restoration of the formerly abandoned fourth mainline track through the station. It is only the second new station on the line in a century, after Fairfield Metro in 2011. The station opened to passengers on August 18, 2013.Shore Line East service at the station was suspended indefinitely on March 16, 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Orange Center Historic District encompasses the historic town center of Orange, Connecticut. Centered on the town green at the junction of Meetinghouse Lane and Orange Center Road, it has retained its character as a 19th-century agrarian town center despite significant 20th-century suburbanization around it. Originally established as a local historic district in 1978, it listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
