Gulou District (simplified Chinese: 鼓楼区; traditional Chinese: 鼓樓區; pinyin: Gǔlóu Qū; lit. 'Drum tower') is one of 11 districts of Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province, China. It is named after the Drum Tower of Nanjing (Gulou).

The Jiangsu Second Normal University (Chinese: 江苏第二师范学院) (formerly named as Jiangsu Institute of Education) is located in the city of Nanjing, Jiangsu province, China. It was established as a modern university in 1952, and is the only one dedicated to both teacher education and educational science research in Jiangsu province. It has many national and provincial education research programs, to guide the province's education and scientific research work for the educational administrative departments at all levels of government and provide the basis for scientific decision-making.The Jiangsu Institute of Educational Science and Jiangsu Second Normal University are located beside the ancient Rock Wall in the west of the city of Nanjing, with beautiful Qingliang Hill to the south and cloud-kissing Jiangsu Television Tower to the north. The Nanjing University of the Arts (NUA; Chinese: 南京艺术学院), also known as the Nanjing Arts Institute, is a university offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in fine arts, design, and related subjects. The institutional history begins in 1912, with the foundation of Shanghai Chinese Art College. The name was changed to the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts of in 1930. The amalgamation of several universities in 1952 produced East China Arts College, situated in Wuxi. In 1958, East China Arts College relocated to Nanjing, and in 1959 it acquired its present name. The lyrics to the school song were written by Cai Yuanpei. The university's partnerships include programs with the University of Dayton and Hokuriku University. The university is served by the Caochangmen/NUA/JSSNU station of the Nanjing Metro.

Hohai University (HHU; Chinese: 河海大学; pinyin: Héhǎi Dàxué) is a public university in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Education of China, and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Water Resources, the State Oceanic Administration, and the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government. The university is part of Project 211 and the Double First-Class Construction. Named after "Hohai (河海)", literally means river and sea in Chinese, it is a comprehensive university famous in the disciplines related to hydrology, water resources, hydraulic engineering, coastal engineering and marine engineering and has cultivated numerous talents for the development of China's water conservancy.

Qingliangshan Park (Chinese: (清凉山公园; lit. 'cooling hill'), is a 73 hectares (180 acres) park located in the Gulou District, Nanjing, China. It sits on Qingliang Hill, which is more than 100 metres (330 ft) high and 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) in radius.

Nanjing Normal University (NJNU; Chinese: 南京师范大学; pinyin: Nánjīng Shīfàn Dàxué) is a provincial public university in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. It is affiliated with the Province of Jiangsu, and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the provincial government. The university is part of the Double First-Class Construction and Project 211.As of 2020, NNU has three campuses in Nanjing, namely Xianlin, Suiyuan, and Zijin. It consists of 28 colleges and schools with an enrollment of 18,369 undergraduates and 12,564 graduate students, including 1,525 doctoral candidates.

High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University (Chinese: 南京師範大學附屬中學, or NSFZ/南師附中 for short) is a high school located in Nanjing, China. It was founded in 1902, and was known as High School Affiliated to National Central University (國立中央大學附屬中學) before 1949, and High School Affiliated to Nanjing University (南京大學附屬中學) during a short period later, until 1952. The school boasts two campuses. At its main campus, it has hosted the Nanjing campus of Caulfield Grammar School, an independent Australian school, which has run an internationalism program in China since 1998. Students from Caulfield live on the campus for five week programs, and during this time they participate in two day homestay visits with students from the High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University. In 2007, the High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University joined in a sister school partnership with Charlotte Country Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina, US. Since 2007, the two schools have organized annual teacher exchanges and student visits. High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University is nationally and regionally recognized and received titles and awards such as National Model High School, Basic Education Reform Experiment School (Ministry of Education), Top Ten Schools of Basic Education in China, Key Middle School of Jiangsu, Model School of Jiangsu, and Top Four Schools of Jiangsu Province. The school is also a member of International School Connection. In 2007, the school became a member of International Baccalaureate and now offers IB Diploma Programme taught in English. In a 2016 ranking of Chinese high schools that send students to study in American universities, it ranked number 22 in mainland China in terms of the number of students entering top American universities.The school sets up several international exchange programs cooperated with Caulfield High School in Australia. Students from the two countries live together and have both Chinese and English Classes. The program not only provide students with an international studying environment, but also promote the relationship the two countries.
