Irasburg Town Hall

Irasburg is the primary village and a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Irasburg, Orleans County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 159, out of 1,233 in the entire town of Irasburg. The CDP is in central Orleans County, south of the geographic center of the town. The Black River, a tributary of Lake Memphremagog, flows through the community, passing north of the village center which is sited on a hilltop. Vermont Route 14 passes through the village, leading north 5 miles (8 km) to Coventry and southwest 7 miles (11 km) to Albany. Vermont Route 58 joins Route 14 in the village center but leads east 4 miles (6 km) to Orleans and west 9 miles (14 km) to Lowell. Newport, the county seat, is 11 miles (18 km) to the northeast of Irasburg.

Irasburg is a town in Orleans County, Vermont, United States. Irasburg was established in 1781 when the land was granted to Ira Allen, Roger Enos, Jerusha Enos (wife of Roger Enos), Jerusha Enos, Jr. (wife of Ira Allen), Roger Enos, Jr. and others by the Vermont General Assembly. Ira Allen later obtained the rights of the other proprietors, and he deeded the town to Jerusha Enos, Jr. as a wedding gift.The 2020 United States Census reported that there were 1,233 citizens living in Irasburg. Irasburg has a total land area of 40.6 square miles (105 km2), 40.5 square miles (105 km2) being land and .1 square miles (0.26 km2) being water. The unincorporated village of Irasburg is in the center of the town. On average, it snows 9 out of the 12 months of the year.

Orleans County is a county located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Vermont. As of the 2020 census, the population was 27,393. Its shire town (county seat) is the city of Newport. The county was created in 1792 and organized in 1799. As in the rest of New England, few governmental powers have been granted to the county. The county is an expedient way of grouping and distributing state-controlled governmental services.

The Orne Covered Bridge is a replica of a historic bridge on Back Coventry Road in Irasburg, Vermont. Built in 2000, it is a replacement for a 19th-century bridge which stood on the site until it was destroyed by arson in 1997. The historic bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Lake Region Union High School, commonly known as Lake Region, is a secondary school located in Barton, in the U.S. state of Vermont. The school is operated by the Orleans Central Supervisory Union school district. The school serves students from Barton, Orleans, Irasburg, Albany, Brownington, Glover, Coventry and Westmore.

Coventry is the primary village and a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Coventry, Orleans County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 111, out of 1,100 in the entire town of Coventry. The CDP is in north-central Orleans County, along the southern edge of the town of Coventry. It is bordered to the south by the town of Irasburg. U.S. Route 5 runs along the eastern edge of the community, leading north 6 miles (10 km) to Newport and southeast the same distance to Orleans. Vermont Route 14 follows US 5 along the eastern edge of Coventry, but leads north 7 miles (11 km) to Newport Center and south 6 miles (10 km) to Irasburg. The Black River flows northward along the western edge of the village; it continues north to enter Lake Memphremagog at Newport.

Orleans is a village in the northwestern corner of Barton, Orleans County, Vermont, United States. With a population of 788 at the 2020 census, it is the largest village in the county.

The Willoughby River ( WIL-ə-bee) is a tributary of the Barton River, flowing on 18.6 km (11.6 mi), in the Orleans County, Vermont, United States.This river flows to northwest, southwest and northwest, crossing the municipalities of Westmore, Vermont, Orleans and Brownington. Its course runs through forested areas, agricultural and urban.

Orleans High School was a school in Orleans, Vermont. It functioned as both a high school and middle school to the village of Orleans and surrounding towns for nearly half a century. The high school was replaced by the Lake Region Union High School on September 11, 1967. Orleans alumni continue to meet annually. They fund scholarships for descendants of graduates. The building today is used to educate elementary students from the village.

Lake Parker, is located in the northwest corner of West Glover, Orleans County, Vermont in an area known as the Northeast Kingdom. This freshwater lake covers 239 acres (0.97 km2) and is just over one mile (1.6 km) long and one-half mile wide; its maximum depth is 48 feet (15 m). The lake is fed by two primary streams and outlets into Roaring Brook, which empties into the Barton River, Lake Memphremagog and, eventually, Canada's St. Lawrence River. It is bordered on three sides by seasonal homes; the southern end is a natural estuary sheltering waterfowl. The surrounding land is farmed for raising dairy cattle.

Albany is a town in Orleans County, Vermont, United States. The population was 976 at the 2020 census. Albany contains four villages: the incorporated village of Albany, and the unincorporated villages of Albany Center, East Albany and South Albany.

The Orleans-2 Representative District is a two-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Orleans-2 District includes all of the Orleans County towns of Coventry, Irasburg, and Newport Town, and the city of Newport, As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The two member Orleans-2 District had a population of 8,607 in that same census, 6.02% below the state average.
