Abbey Hey Football Club is a football club based in the Abbey Hey area of Gorton, Manchester, England. They are currently members of the North West Counties League Division One South and play at the Abbey Stadium. The club are full members of the Manchester Football Association.

Gorton is an area of Manchester in North West England, southeast of the city centre. The population at the 2011 census was 36,055. Neighbouring areas include Levenshulme and Openshaw. A major landmark is Gorton Monastery, a 19th-century High Victorian Gothic former Franciscan friary.

Ryder Brow railway station serves the Gorton and Ryder Brow areas of Manchester, England. The station is 2+3⁄4 miles (4.4 km) southeast of Manchester Piccadilly on the Hope Valley Line and opened in 1985 by British Rail.

Brookfield Unitarian Church, Gorton, Manchester, England is a Victorian Gothic church. It is a member of the General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches, the umbrella body for British Unitarians.

Gorton Heritage Trail is located approximately 3 miles from the centre of Manchester, England. The trail has been designed to promote and conserve the heritage and wildlife of Gore Brook Valley. It lies mainly within the Gore Brook Conservation area. There are eight listed buildings and other places of interest along the trail. The trail runs through what is still a surprisingly rural and environmentally diverse area; it has a meadow area along Gore Brook and a Butterfly Garden which give an ecological dimension to the trail.

The Peacock Mausoleum is a Victorian Gothic memorial to Richard Peacock (1820–1889), engineer and Liberal MP for Manchester, and to his son, Joseph Peacock. It is situated in the cemetery of Brookfield Unitarian Church, Gorton, Manchester. The mausoleum was designed by the prolific Manchester architect Thomas Worthington. It was listed Grade II* on the National Heritage List for England on 3 October 1974.Nikolaus Pevsner's The Buildings of England describes the memorial as "a large three-bay shrine of white stone. Steep roof and statues at the corners – an engineer, blacksmith, draughtsman and architect, supposedly a portrayal of Worthington himself." Peacock, a partner in the locomotive engineering firm of Beyer, Peacock & Company also paid for the construction of the Brookfield Unitarian Church.

Hyde Road was a railway station in Gorton, Manchester, England, on the Fallowfield Loop Line. It opened in 1892 and closed in 1958 when local passenger services on the line stopped. The station was sometimes advertised as Hyde Road for Belle Vue, that is, convenient for Belle Vue Zoo, about one mile away. The track closed completely in 1988 and the track was taken up. The station has long since been demolished, and the site has now been partly redeveloped. The line of the track is used as a cycleway. It was named after Hyde Road, a road which begins at the east end of Ardwick Green South in Ardwick and runs east towards Hyde. At the boundary between Gorton and Audenshaw it continues as Manchester Road.

Nico Ditch is a six-mile (9.7 km) long linear earthwork between Ashton-under-Lyne and Stretford in Greater Manchester, England. It was dug as a defensive fortification, or possibly a boundary marker, between the 5th and 11th century. The ditch is still visible in short sections, such as a 330-yard (300 m) stretch in Denton Golf Course. For the parts which survived, the ditch is 4–5 yards (3.7–4.6 m) wide and up to 5 feet (1.5 m) deep. Part of the earthwork is protected as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Gorton North is a defunct local government ward in the Gorton area of the City of Manchester. The population of Gorton North ward at the 2011 census was 16,440. Under boundary changes by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) the ward was abolished and replaced with the new electoral ward Gorton and Abbey Hey from May 2018.

The Plough is a Grade II listed public house at 927 Hyde Road, Gorton, Manchester M18 7FB.It is on the Campaign for Real Ale's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors.It was built in the late 19th century, incorporating parts of an earlier building.

Debdale Park is an inner-city park, located in the Gorton area of Manchester, England. At around 45 acres (18 ha), it is one of the largest inner-city parks in the City of Manchester. Located in the grounds of Debdale Park there is a members only bowling green, children's play area, multi-use games area (MUGA), skate park, tennis courts (free for use), football pitch, disused 9 hole pitch and putt, toilets and a visitor & community centre. Close to the park are two large reservoirs for licensed fishing and the neighbouring Debdale Outdoor Centre provides an exciting range of activities include dinghy sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and kayaking, along with indoor climbing, orienteering and team-building activities. In 2021, Debdale Nature Centre and Coffee in the Park were opened behind the offices in the north-west corner of the park. Debdale Park is also near to the eastern starting point of the Fallowfield Loop shared-use path, a rail trail managed by Sustrans. It follows the route of the former Fallowfield Loop railway line across south Manchester as far as St Werburgh's Road Metrolink station in Chorlton-cum-Hardy. The path is part of the UK National Cycle Network.
