Debdale Park

Gorton Reservoirs are two reservoirs on the boundary of Tameside and Manchester in the North West of England. They are Gorton Upper Reservoir and Gorton Lower Reservoir. The upper and lower sections are separated by a road supported by a stone bridge consisting of a series of arches. They are owned and maintained by United Utilities. The reservoirs were completed between 1825 and 1826. Able to supply almost 1 million imperial gallons of water per day to the city of Manchester and the surrounding area; they were used until 1963.

Gorton is an area of Manchester in North West England, southeast of the city centre. The population at the 2011 census was 36,055. Neighbouring areas include Levenshulme and Openshaw. A major landmark is Gorton Monastery, a 19th-century High Victorian Gothic former Franciscan friary.

Hyde Road was a railway station in Gorton, Manchester, England, on the Fallowfield Loop Line. It opened in 1892 and closed in 1958 when local passenger services on the line stopped. The station was sometimes advertised as Hyde Road for Belle Vue, that is, convenient for Belle Vue Zoo, about one mile away. The track closed completely in 1988 and the track was taken up. The station has long since been demolished, and the site has now been partly redeveloped. The line of the track is used as a cycleway. It was named after Hyde Road, a road which begins at the east end of Ardwick Green South in Ardwick and runs east towards Hyde. At the boundary between Gorton and Audenshaw it continues as Manchester Road.

Gorton Heritage Trail is located approximately 3 miles from the centre of Manchester, England. The trail has been designed to promote and conserve the heritage and wildlife of Gore Brook Valley. It lies mainly within the Gore Brook Conservation area. There are eight listed buildings and other places of interest along the trail. The trail runs through what is still a surprisingly rural and environmentally diverse area; it has a meadow area along Gore Brook and a Butterfly Garden which give an ecological dimension to the trail.

Brookfield Unitarian Church, Gorton, Manchester, England is a Victorian Gothic church. It is a member of the General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches, the umbrella body for British Unitarians.

Abbey Hey Football Club is a football club based in the Abbey Hey area of Gorton, Manchester, England. They are currently members of the North West Counties League Division One South and play at the Abbey Stadium. The club are full members of the Manchester Football Association.

The Peacock Mausoleum is a Victorian Gothic memorial to Richard Peacock (1820–1889), engineer and Liberal MP for Manchester, and to his son, Joseph Peacock. It is situated in the cemetery of Brookfield Unitarian Church, Gorton, Manchester. The mausoleum was designed by the prolific Manchester architect Thomas Worthington. It was listed Grade II* on the National Heritage List for England on 3 October 1974.Nikolaus Pevsner's The Buildings of England describes the memorial as "a large three-bay shrine of white stone. Steep roof and statues at the corners – an engineer, blacksmith, draughtsman and architect, supposedly a portrayal of Worthington himself." Peacock, a partner in the locomotive engineering firm of Beyer, Peacock & Company also paid for the construction of the Brookfield Unitarian Church.

Wright Robinson College is a coeducational secondary school in Abbey Hey, Gorton, Manchester, England.The college caters to pupils of all socio-economic and religious backgrounds and was previously a specialist college of Sport and the Arts. The school is on the edge of east Manchester, in the grounds of Debdale Park. Wright Robinson holds the Sportsmark Gold award with distinction, Artsmark Gold award also with distinction, the coveted FA Charter Mark, and the Healthy School award. Wright Robinson College is the single largest and most over-subscribed school in the city of Manchester, with around 1,800 pupils on roll. The school converted to academy status in November 2019 and is now sponsored by the Flagship Learning Trust. The college is named after Wright Robinson, a long-serving Manchester city councillor.The Headmaster of the college is Martin E. Haworth, with Neville L. Beischer as the CEO and the Chair of Governors is Christine Shaw. The college, in terms of Value Added scores, is the highest achieving Comprehensive secondary school in England and Wales. This means that from a relatively low achieving background, children leave Wright Robinson with above average results. Results from Wright Robinson are higher than those of any school of its kind in the country, beaten in Manchester only by the King David School. The annual presentational ceremony for GCSE results is held at the Bridgewater Hall, home of the Hallé Orchestra.

Gorton North is a defunct local government ward in the Gorton area of the City of Manchester. The population of Gorton North ward at the 2011 census was 16,440. Under boundary changes by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) the ward was abolished and replaced with the new electoral ward Gorton and Abbey Hey from May 2018.

The Plough is a Grade II listed public house at 927 Hyde Road, Gorton, Manchester M18 7FB.It is on the Campaign for Real Ale's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors.It was built in the late 19th century, incorporating parts of an earlier building.
