Dalton is a district of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire in England, approximately one mile east of the town centre between Moldgreen, Rawthorpe and Kirkheaton. Located in a small valley it is mostly housing, with a small number of engineering firms to the north-west, surrounded by farmland used in the production of milk. Germaine Lindsay, one of the suicide bombers involved in the 7 July 2005 London bombings, had lived in the area following his arrival from Jamaica aged five.

Kirkheaton railway station served the village of Kirkheaton, West Yorkshire, England until closure in 1930. It was located immediately north of the junction of Crossley Lane and School Lane, and was accessed from the latter. The line continued towards Kirkburton on a bridge across School Lane.

Waterloo's population is around 7,000 and it is situated between Dalton and Almondbury. The area is home to a number of businesses, including Forteq UK (the UK operation of a Swiss-owned plastic moulding company), Principle Group (a brand implementation company that makes signage and bank counters), Hyder Living (a bed and sofa manufacturer) and Metal Closures (metal packaging producer). Huddersfield R.U.F.C. played at Waterloo until leaving for a new ground at Lockwood Park in 1997.

Kirkheaton is a village and former civil parish 3 miles (5 km) north-east of Huddersfield, now in the parish of Kirkburton, in the county of West Yorkshire, England, Historically, it is part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. It is in the Dalton ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees. In 1931 the parish had a population of 2,610.

The Tolson Memorial Museum, also known as Tolson Museum, is housed in Ravensknowle Hall, a Victorian mansion in Ravensknowle Park on Wakefield Road in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. The museum was given to the town by Legh Tolson in memory of his two nephews who were killed in the First World War. Originally a natural history museum, it is run by Kirklees Council and has a wide range of exhibits related to the area's cultural and industrial history.

Almondbury is a village 2 miles (3.2 km) south-east of Huddersfield town centre in West Yorkshire, England. The population of Almondbury in 2001 was 7,368 increasing to 18,346 at the 2011 Census.Almondbury appears in the Domesday Book as "Almondeberie". After the Norman Conquest, the land around the village was held by the powerful De Lacy family, who gave their name to De Lacy Avenue. For 300 years until the 17th century, the village's Monday Market was the most important in the area. Almondbury was the hub of parish activity and in its early history was a more important centre than the town of Huddersfield. The villages of Linthwaite, Lockwood, Honley, Holmfirth and Meltham were all part of the Almondbury parish area. The village is close to Castle Hill, Huddersfield's most prominent landmark. Almondbury has several notable buildings including the 16th-century Wormald's Hall, now the village Conservative club, and the Grade I listed All Hallows Church. The church is mainly Perpendicular in style but the chancel is earlier. The roofs have a long inscription dated 1522 on the cornice. Other wooden furniture of interest includes a Georgian lectern, a pew of 1605 and a late Perpendicular font cover.

Rawthorpe Hall, a Grade II listed building, now converted into dwellings gives its apparent Norse place name to the vicinity. Historically, Rawthorpe lies in the ancient civil parish of Kirkheaton and the township of Dalton.

The Creative & Media Studio School is a studio school located at the Netherhall Learning Campus in Huddersfield, in the English county of West Yorkshire, England. The school was established in 2010. The school was initially housed in the premises of the other schools in the Netherhall Federation; however a dedicated building has been completed and was officially opened on 15 November 2013. School specialisms include Drama, Music, Textiles, Graphics, Fashion and Media, with qualifications at GCSE, BTEC or A Level.
