Somport or Col du Somport, known also as the Aspe Pass or Canfranc Pass, (el. 1632 m.) is a mountain pass in the central Pyrenees on the border of France and Spain. Its name is derived from the Latin Summus portus. It was one of the most popular routes for soldiers, merchants, and pilgrims to the tomb of St. James following the route from Arles to cross the Pyrenees. They travelled from Oloron-Sainte-Marie, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, France, via Somport to Jaca, Aragon, Spain.

Astún (Spanish pronunciation: [asˈtun]) is a ski resort situated near the town of Canfranc in the High Aragon of the western Pyrenees (province of Huesca, Spain). The source of the Aragon River is in the resort. Ibón de Truchas attracts anglers. It is connected to the city by 33 km of the N -330. At its feet is the urbanization of the tracks, which had 6 inhabitants in 2012.

Canfranc International railway station (Spanish: Estación Internacional de Canfranc) is a formerly international railway station in the village of Canfranc in the Spanish Pyrenees. The Somport railway tunnel, inoperative since 1970, which carries the Pau–Canfranc railway, under the Pyrenees into France, is located at its northern end. The station, which was opened during July 1928, was constructed on a grand scale to serve as a major hub for cross-border railway traffic. Already more modest than imagined, this came to a full and abrupt end during 1970 following a train derailment that damaged a key bridge in France. With only minimal services over five decades, Canfranc station experienced a major decline and neglect, resulting in much of the site becoming derelict. The regional government has ambitions to reopen the international line and has redeveloped the station, which meant the renovation of the existing station building for use as a hotel and its replacement by a new facility in the former freight area. In February 2020, funding for both the relaunch of international services and the station's rehabilitation was made available by the European Union.

The Canfranc Underground Laboratory (Spanish: Laboratorio Subterráneo de Canfranc or LSC) is an underground scientific facility located in the former railway tunnel of Somport under Monte Tobazo (Pyrenees) in Canfranc. The laboratory, 780 m deep and protected from cosmic radiation, is mainly devoted to study rarely occurring natural phenomena such as the interactions of neutrinos of cosmic origin or dark matter with atomic nuclei.Access to the tunnel containing the laboratory is at the Estación Internacional de Canfranc, a former international railway station in the village of Canfranc.

Ibón de Escalar is a lake in the Province of Huesca, northeastern Spain. It lies at an elevation of 2,078 metres (6,818 ft) in the Valle de Astún.

Ibón de Truchas is a lake at the winter resort of Astún in the Province of Huesca, northeastern Spain. It lies at an elevation of 2,144 metres (7,034 ft) and has a maximum depth of 4.7 metres (15 ft). It is a popular place for fishing and hiking.

Ibón de Estanés is a lake in the Province of Huesca, northeastern Spain. Located at an elevation of 1,754 metres (5,755 ft) in the Valle de Hecho, it covers an area of 0.29 square kilometres (0.11 sq mi).

Canfranc (Spanish pronunciation: [kaɱˈfɾaŋk]) is a municipality in the Aragón Valley of north-eastern Spain consisting of two villages, the original village and Canfranc Estación, which developed with the establishment of Canfranc International railway station to serve railway traffic across the Pyrenees.

Ibones de Anayet are a series of lakes in the Province of Huesca, northeastern Spain. They lie at the foot of Pico de Anayet.

Villanúa (in Aragonese: Bellanuga) is a Pyrenean municipality in Spain in the north of Huesca province, in la Jacetania, set where the Aragon valley gets wider. Its name refers to the "new village" repopulated in the late 10th century. Villanúa's altitude is 953 m and it covers 58.2 km2. The village is at the bottom of mount Collarada (2886 m) and in 2018 had 447 inhabitants. It is a tourist locality located between Jaca and the ski stations of Candanchú and Astún and near the French border (12 km. by the Tunnel of Somport).
