Kyttälä

Posteljooninpuisto (Finnish for "Postman's Park") is a French formal garden style park built in the 1930s in central Tampere, Finland, at the corner of Rautatienkatu and Itsenäisyydenkatu. At the corner of the park is the former head post office of Tampere. The park is also internally connected to the Tampere railway station located next to it, which the Finnish Heritage Agency has classified as a significant cultural environment. The park is owned by the city of Tampere.The majority of the trees at Posteljooninpuisto are deciduous. Trees planted there include common lindens. All of the lawn areas, structures of walking paths and lights were renovated from 2017 to 2018. At the same time, a pool was built underneath the park, in order to prevent urban runoff water from draining to the tunnel underneath the railway.The steel sculpture Elämän virta ("Flow of life") designed by Aimo Taleva is located at the park. It is a memorial to the schlager and tango singer Olavi Virta, who lived his final years in Tampere.

C was a restaurant in Tampere, Finland, selected as restaurant of the year in early 2011, by the Finnish Gastronomic Society.The restaurant received recognition especially for quality ingredients, food preparation according to season and good matching between food and wine.The restaurant was located west of the Tampere Central Station in the district of Kyttälä. The chief cook of C was Ilkka Isotalo and the sommelier was Christina Suominen. Restaurant Perla was previously located at the same address. C closed in December 2022. The address is now occupied by a bistro, Bistro C.

Tampere Central Station is a functionalist building in Tampere, Finland, designed by Eero Seppälä and Otto Flodin, completed in 1936. The station is one of the most important railway stations in Finland. In 2015, the Tampere Central Station was the second busiest railway station in Finland in terms of numbers of passengers, after the Helsinki Central Station.The 36-metre clock tower was later added because the Finnish railway bureau required it (its total height from ground level is about 50 metres). The city's main street Hämeenkatu begins at the railway station, continuing over the Hämeensilta bridge to its western end at the Aleksanteri Church. The Itsenäisyydenkatu (originally called Puolimatkankatu) street begins at the Tammela side of the station, continuing to the Kaleva Church. Situated in a central location, the station and its railway yard have served as divisors of the city's districts almost in the same way as Tammerkoski: Tamperean places are often located by saying which side of the station they are on. For decades, there has been discussion of a unified travel centre in Tampere: currently, the long-distance bus terminal, the Tampere Bus Station, is quite far away from the railway station. There are currently three platforms in the Tampere railway station, two of which have a roof. There are five tracks in total, but there are plans to add a fourth platform, making seven tracks in total. The Tampere cargo station is located south from the passenger station. It includes one of the busiest railway organisation yards in Finland. The green building on the east side of the tracks, opposite the old passenger station is the old cargo station. A track leads from the cargo station, over the highway to Helsinki, to the Nekala district, which previously contained many private tracks servicing stock companies. Nowadays, some of the tracks have been disassembled and some are disused. The starting point of the track is used to store train carriages.

Tuomiokirkonkatu (literally "Cathedral Street") is a north–south street in the center of Tampere, Finland, which runs through the districts of Jussinkylä and Kyttälä. The street is about a kilometer long. In the north it ends at Lapintie, in the south Vuolteenkatu. In Kyttälä, part of Tuomiokirkonkatu has been turned into a pedestrian street. In the future, the pedestrian section will be expanded so that it will eventually extend south from Kyttälänkatu to Suvantokatu and the Sori Square (Sorin aukio).The street got its current name in 1936, when the city underwent a major street name reform. Tuomiokirkonkatu refers to the Tampere Cathedral, which is located along the street. The previous name Viinikankatu was in the town plan in 1886–1936. The old name was abandoned because it was considered misleading; after the town plan changes, the street no longer led to the Viinikka district.Tuomiokirkonkatu has several important sites for cultural historically architecture of cityscape. In addition to the nationally significant the Tampere Cathedral (1906), the Orthodox Church (1898), which was Kyttälä's first church building, rises along the street. Other notable buildings include the Classical High School of Tampere (1907), the Tuominen Stone Wall (1910), and the Stockmann department store (1981).

Tampere Orthodox Church (also known as the Church of the Alexander Nevsky and the Saint Nicholas) is an Eastern Orthodox church in Tampere, Finland, located in the Kyttälä city district. It is dedicated to Saint Alexander Nevsky and to Saint Nicholas. Tampere Orthodox Church was completed in 1899 to the design of the Russian military architect T. U. Yazukov.

Aleksanterinkatu ("Alexander Street") is a street in the Kyttälä district, in the centre of Tampere, Finland. It is a north–south street, which is one of the cross streets of Hämeenkatu, Tampere's main street. In the south, it intersects the Hatanpää highway at Sori Square and ends in the north at Erkkilänaukee in Jussinkylä, near Tampere Cathedral. Like most streets in Kyttälä, Aleksanterinkatu was named in 1877, when the area was annexed to the city of Tampere and a town plan was approved. However, the town plan was not put into practice until the 1890s, when the 15-year lease granted to the old inhabitants of the area expired. The name Aleksanterinkatu presumably refers to Tsar Alexander II of Russia, who had confirmed Tampere's free city rights unchanged for a new 50-year period in 1855.Aleksanterinkatu is also the name of the main street in many other Finnish cities, e.g.: Helsinki, Lahti, Oulu, Porvoo and Loviisa.

Hotel Torni Tampere is a 25-storey hotel in Tampere, Finland. It was completed in 2014. Hotel Torni Tampere is the tallest hotel building in Finland, and the second highest overall building in Finland after Majakka in Kalasatama, Helsinki. On the top floor of the hotel building is the Moro Sky Bar, which is the highest bar and terrace in all of Finland.

The Sori Square (Finnish: Sorin aukio) is a square located in the center of Tampere, Finland, in the southern part of the Kyttälä district. It is located in the area bounded by the Hatanpää Highway, Suvantokatu, Tuomiokirkonkatu and Vuolteenkatu. At the eastern end of the square is the Tampere Orthodox Church from 1898. There is a terminus at Tampere Tram Line 1 on the west side.The square was built in the 1980s, and its artistic composition was by sculptor Harry Kivijärvi. In the square is his 10-meter sculpture called Pirkka. Kivijärvi has also designed the area's lamps, benches and trash bins, as well as a mosaic-decorated water basin in the northern corner of the square. The work was completed in the autumn of 1987.The name of Sori Square was marked in the town plan in 1985. It is based on the old place name Sorinahde; the hill that rises from Ratina towards Kalevankangas has been called Sorinahde, and the square is located in the middle of the hill.

Erkkilän silta (the ″Erkkilä Bridge″) is a bridge located in the center of Tampere, Finland. It crosses the railway yard to the north of the Tampere Central Station, connecting the Jussinkylä and Tammela districts. The bridge is a type of steel tied-arch bridge, a combination of arch and beam bridge with a span of 42 meters. The stone ground supports of the bridge come from a bridge built in 1963 on the same site. The bridge was completed in 1983.In connection with the construction of the bridge, another old ground support was reinforced with drill piles. The bridge was renovated in 2005 by, among other things, renewing the waterproofing and coating of the bridge deck and painting the steel arches.

Nokia Arena, also known by its non-sponsored name Tampere Deck Arena (Finnish: Tampereen Kannen areena), is an indoor arena in Tampere, Finland, which hosts ice hockey games and large cultural events. It is the home arena of Ilves and Tappara of the SM-liiga. Its construction was approved by the City Council of Tampere on 19 May 2010, and it was officially opened on 3 December 2021.The NHL teams Columbus Blue Jackets and Colorado Avalanche played two games at Nokia Arena in the 2022 NHL Global Series on 4–5 November 2022. Nokia Arena hosted back-to-back IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships in 2022 and 2023.On 10 February 2024, the venue will host Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK), the Finnish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. In 2025, it will host the group phase matches for the FIBA EuroBasket.

Koskikeskus is a shopping center in Kyttälä, Tampere, Finland, next to Sokos Hotel Ilves. It was opened in March 1988, when it was the largest shopping center in Finland at the time. The shopping center and the adjacent Hotel Ilves were built on the site of the old Verkatehdas.

The Tampere Police Station (or the Tampere Central Police Station; Finnish: Tampereen poliisitalo, Swedish: Tammerfors polishus) is a police station located in the Ratina district in Tampere, Finland, and also the administrative center of the Central Finland Police Department. The police station is also used by the Finnish Security Intelligence Service (SUPO). There are about 400 police officers working there and about 50 others. The police station consists of two buildings located near the Tampere Bus Station along the Hatanpää Highway and Sorinkatu streets; due to this, in Tampere colloquially, the police station and its surroundings are also known as Sori by locals.The station is owned by Senate Properties.
