Kingston and Bourn Old Railway

Kingston is a small village and parish in the East of England region and the county Cambridgeshire in the United Kingdom. Situated 7 miles to the west of Cambridge, the population at the time of the 2001 census was 214, increasing to 238 at the 2011 Census.The ancient parish is 1,907 acres (772 ha) in size, at an altitude of between 80 and 250 feet. The land is largely agricultural, with Kingston Wood covering around 100 acres.

Bourn is a small village and civil parish in South Cambridgeshire, England. Surrounding villages include Caxton, Eltisley and Cambourne. It is 8 miles (12 km) from the county town of Cambridge. The population of the parish was 1,015 at the time of the 2011 census.Bourn has a Church of England primary school, a doctors' surgery, the Church of St Mary & St Helena, a golf club, a former Royal Air Force bomber airfield (RAF Station Bourn 1940–1945), today used for light aircraft, and an old windmill. Bourn Hall Clinic, the centre for infertility treatment founded in 1980 by IVF pioneers Patrick Steptoe and Professor Robert Edwards, who were responsible for the conception in 1978 of Louise Brown, the world's first IVF or test-tube baby, is also located here. Since its foundation the clinic has assisted in the conception of more than 10,000 babies. A small stream called Bourn Brook runs through the village, eventually joining the River Cam.

Caldecote Meadows is a 9.1-hectare (22-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Caldecote in Cambridgeshire.The site is herb-rich calcareous grassland, which was formerly common in the county, but is now rare. It is traditionally managed by hay cutting and grazing, and plants include salad burnet and dropwort.The site is private land with no public access.

Caldecote is a village and civil parish in Cambridgeshire, in the district of South Cambridgeshire, England. It lies south of the A428, approximately six miles west of Cambridge and three miles east of Cambourne. Bourn Castle was in the village of Bourn in Cambridgeshire, 10 miles to the west of Cambridge (grid reference TL322562). It originally consisted of wooden buildings on an earthwork enclosure which was erected by Picot of Cambridge around 1080, which was towards the end of the reign of William the Conqueror. This was burnt down during the reign of Henry III, c.1266. In the early 16th century Bourn Hall was built on part of the site.

Hardwick Wood is a 15.5-hectare (38-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest southwest of Hardwick in Cambridgeshire. It is managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.This medieval wood is now managed by coppicing. It is mainly ash and field maple, while the oldest parts have pedunculate oak with an understorey of hazel and hawthorn, while ground flora include early-purple orchid and yellow archangel. There are birds such as willow warblers, marsh tits and blackcaps.There is access by footpath.

Bourn Airport (IATA: n/a, ICAO: EGSN) is located 7 NM (13 km; 8.1 mi) west of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. The airfield was originally constructed during World War II as RAF Bourn and was principally used as a base for heavy bombers - Wellingtons, Stirlings and Lancasters were all based at Bourn at one time or another. Nowadays, the airfield is used for recreational use, and flight training has been provided by the Bourn Rural Flying Corps for in excess of 30 years. The airfield is owned by the Taylor Family.

Kingston Wood and Outliers is a 47.4-hectare (117-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south-west of Kingston in Cambridgeshire. The site comprises Kingston Wood itself, Pincote Wood, Hawk's Wood and Lady Pastures Spinney.This ancient woodland is ash and field maple on chalky clay, and it is described by Natural England as one of the oldest and most intact coppiced woodlands in the county. Ground flora include dog's mercury and the nationally restricted oxlip.The site is private with no public access.

Wysing Arts Centre is a contemporary arts residency centre and campus for artistic production, experimentation and learning in South Cambridgeshire, England. The centre was established in 1989 and completed a £1.7 million capital development project in 2008. Across the eleven-acre site the centre holds ten buildings, including 24 low-cost artists' studios, a live-work space, specialist new media facilities, a large gallery, education facilities and a 17th-century grade II listed farmhouse which is used as accommodation for residencies and retreats. The main focus of the centre's activities is the international residency programme, but it also hosts temporary exhibitions, retreats, a programme for young artists, semi-permanent sculptural and architectural commissions and works on offsite projects with many other institutions nationally and internationally. It is a registered charity under English law.In 2010 Wysing was invited to join Plus Tate; one of only two of the twenty organisations in the network whose work is focused on process and production rather than on the presentation of extant works. Alongside Plus Tate, Wysing has a number of partnerships in place with organisations including the Royal College of Art, the Royal Society of Arts, the British Council, the Contemporary Art Society, Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge University and the Contemporary Visual Arts Network.

Toft is a village situated in Cambridgeshire, England. It is approximately six miles to the west of Cambridge, and is situated within four miles of the M11 motorway. It has approximately 600 residents and 200 homes. Comberton Village College and Comberton Sixth Form fall within the Toft Parish boundary. The village has two churches, St Andrew's Parish Church and Toft Methodist Church.Just to the east of the village is Cambridge Meridian Golf Club, which has the Prime Meridian running through the 14th fairway. The name "Toft" is derived from an old Viking word meaning "curtilage" or "homestead".
