The Glendale Historic District in Glendale, Kentucky is a 21.5 acres (8.7 ha) historic district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.It runs along Main St. between County Highway 1136 and Railroad Ave. It was "a notable collection of late 19th and early 20th century residential, and commercial architecture. The district is significant ... for its architectural character and ...for its role in the commercial history of the county. Few modern buildings have been constructed in the district in recent years and it retains its early 20th century appearance."It includes 34 contributing buildings. Among those are: Stuart Store (c.1905), a two-story frame commercial building with a false front rising to cover an attic Glendale Bank (1903), a two-story brick commercial building which is "unusually intact"

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.It is a two-story, brick Italianate house, with brick laid in common bond, built upon a brick foundation. Its front facade has four bays and a one-story porch with milled posts and dentils. The south facade has another one-story porch with a shed roof, milled posts, and vergeboard decoration. It has a two-story rear wing.The interior includes original cast iron mantles and an Italianate-style staircase.It is located off Kentucky Route 222 about 1 mile (1.6 km) west of Glendale.

The William Tichenor House, near Upton, Kentucky, is a historic house built around 1820. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.It was built as a two-story dogtrot-style double pen house. The breezeway was later enclosed (c.1910). A separate log kitchen was linked by a frame addition c.1900.It became the home of the William Tichenor family; William Tichenor was a shareholder in the 1896 formation of the Sonora Bank and he had a large farm south of Sonora.It was deemed notable "as a relatively unaltered example of a two-story dogtrot style home. It is one of the five most significant dogtrot log homes located in the county and retains its original plan."

The Historic First Presbyterian Church in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, was a historic church at 212 W. Dixie Avenue. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.It is a one-story brick church built in 1835 with Federal-style details. It was significantly modified in 1896, adding Romanesque style elements, including a bell tower. A two-story brick addition was added in 1943 and 1962.The church moved to its current location at 1016 Pear Orchard Rd. in Elizabethtown in the early 1990s. The building at 212 W. Dixie Avenue is currently occupied by the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame.

Central Hardin High School is a school located in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, United States. Although the school is within the city limits, it is served by the post office of the community of Cecilia, much of which has recently been annexed by Elizabethtown. It is one of three county high schools in the Hardin County School System. The school is a school-based decision-making school. The council of twelve members including two administrators, six teachers, and four parents began operation in December 1995.

Cecilia is a census-designated place (CDP) and unincorporated community in Hardin County, Kentucky, United States. It is located 6 miles (10 km) west of Elizabethtown, the county seat. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 575, stagnant from the 2010 census population of 572.The town was formerly called "Cecilian Junction" because of its location at the junction of the Illinois Central Railroad's Louisville-Paducah main line and its branch to Hodgenville. (The line now belongs to the Paducah and Louisville Railway, and the branch is now truncated to Elizabethtown.) The community is part of the Elizabethtown–Fort Knox Metropolitan Statistical Area, and a significant part of the area served by the Cecilia post office is now within the Elizabethtown city limits. Kentucky Route 86 runs through the town, ending just south of the town at an intersection with U.S. Route 62.

Tonieville is a small unincorporated community in LaRue County, Kentucky, United States, in the central part of the state. The community is part of the Elizabethtown, Kentucky Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its zip code is 42748. It is most notable as the birthplace of Carl Brashear, the first black U.S. Navy Master Diver. Local tradition has it that the name of the town derived from two of the largest local landowners. These landowners were Tone Goodin and Tone Kennady and were known by the name of "Tone", which was probably short for "Anthony." While several men named Tony besides the two listed above have been put forward as having been the source of the name Tonieville, it was in fact almost certainly named after the town of Tonneville in Normandy.
