Old Cavendish Street

D H Evans was a department store located in Oxford Street, London, which later became part of House of Fraser. The store was rebranded as House of Fraser in 2001.

Henrietta Place, originally known as Henrietta Street, is a street in Marylebone in the City of Westminster in central London that runs from Marylebone Lane in the east to Cavendish Square in the west. It is joined on the north side by Welbeck Street and Wimpole Street, and on the south side by Vere Street, Chapel Place, and Old Cavendish Street.

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) is a registered trade union in the United Kingdom for those in the profession of nursing. It was founded in 1916, receiving its royal charter in 1928. Queen Elizabeth II was the patron until her death in 2022. The majority of members are registered nurses; however student nurses and healthcare assistants are also members. There is also a category of membership, at a reduced cost, for retired people. The RCN describes its mission as representing nurses and nursing, promoting excellence in practice and shaping health policies. It has a network of stewards, safety representatives and union learning representatives as well as advice services for members. Services include a main library in London and regional libraries around the country. The RCN Institute also provides courses for nurses.

Ronchini Gallery is a contemporary art gallery founded by Lorenzo Ronchini in Umbria, Italy, in 1992. Artists exhibited at the gallery include: Jacob Hashimoto, Will Cotton, Conrad Marca-Relli, Berndnaut Smilde, Sean Lynch (artist), Paul Jenkins (painter), Mario Schifano, Alexander Calder, Alighiero Boetti, Rebecca Ward, and Paolo Serra. Originally heardquartered in Terni, the gallery moved to 22 Dering Street, Mayfair, London, in February 2012. The inaugural exhibition was titled Italian Beauty, and featured works by Giulio Paolini, Domenico Bianchi and Giò Ponti. The program focuses on international contemporary art.Artists represented by the gallery include Adeline de Monseignat, Berndnaut Smilde, Jacob Hashimoto, Tameka Norris, and Rebecca Ward. In 2012, Ronchini Gallery announced the exclusive representation of the Conrad Marca-Relli Estate and mounted the American Abstract Expressionist’s artist first UK solo exhibition curated by David Anfam and Kenneth Baker. In 2013, the Gallery organised an exhibition of Alexander Calder and Fausto Melotti. In 2014 it hosted the first UK solo exhibitions of artists: Will Cotton, Berndnaut Smilde and Adeline de Monseignat. The gallery hosts 6-8 exhibitions per year.

Marshall & Snelgrove was a department store on the north side of Oxford Street, London, on the corner with Vere Street founded by James Marshall (b.1806 Yorkshire – d.22 November 1893). The company became part of the Debenhams group.

The Royal College of Chemistry (RCC) was a college originally based on Oxford Street in central London, England. It operated between 1845 and 1872. The original building was designed by the English architect James Lockyer in 1846 with the foundation stone being laid by Prince Albert.The College was set up to teach practical chemistry. Many politicians donated funds to establish the college, including Benjamin Disraeli, William Gladstone and Robert Peel. It was also supported by Prince Albert. The first director was August Wilhelm von Hofmann. Frederick Augustus Abel studied under von Hofmann. Sir William Crookes, Edward Divers and J. A. R. Newlands also attended the college. The young William Henry Perkin studied and worked at the college under von Hofmann, but resigned his position after discovering the first synthetic dye, mauveine, in 1856. Perkin's discovery was prompted by his work with von Hofmann on the substance aniline, derived from coal tar, and it was this breakthrough which sparked the synthetic dye industry, a boom which some historians have labelled 'the second chemical revolution'. The college was merged into the Royal School of Mines in 1853. It was the first constituent college of Imperial College London and eventually became the Imperial College Chemistry Department.

Vere Street is a street off Oxford Street, in central London. It is a continuation of Welbeck Street, and part of the B406. It is named after a family name of the area's owners at the time of its construction, the Earls of Oxford. It is best known for the Marybone Chapel, also known as the Marylebone Chapel or Oxford Chapel, now St Peter's Vere Street. The sculptor John Michael Rysbrack lived and died here in 1770. The Consular Section of the Embassy of Brazil is located at nos. 3–4. The nearest underground station is Bond Street to the south-west.

Holles Street is a street in Marylebone in the City of Westminster in central London that runs from the south side of Cavendish Square to Oxford Street.

The Neilson–Terry Guild of Dramatic Art was a drama school at 17 Cavendish Square in London. In the 1930s it was run by the actress and playwright, Louise Regnis. Students included playwright Elizabeth FitzRoy, Kirsten Forssmann, Mary Joan (Mollie) Hammond, and Marjorie Johnstone. During World War II most of the school went to Bath, and the company was finally shut down in 1948.

St Peter, Vere Street, known until 1832 as the Oxford Chapel after its founder Edward Harley, 2nd Earl of Oxford and Earl Mortimer, is a former Anglican church off Oxford Street, London. It has sometimes been referred to as the Marybone Chapel or Marylebone Chapel.

Winged Figure (BH 315) is a 1963 sculpture by British artist Barbara Hepworth. One of Hepworth's best known works, it has been displayed in London since April 1963, on Holles Street near the junction with Oxford Street, mounted on the south-east side of the John Lewis department store. It is estimated that the sculpture is seen by approximately 200 million people each year. It was granted a Grade II* listing in January 2016.
