The Sachs-Webster House or Farmstead is an historic site and structure located in Laveen, Arizona. On the farmstead is a turn-of-the-20th-Century Sears Catalog Home built by "the original settlers of the community of Laveen".

Betty H. Fairfax is a high school in the Phoenix Union High School District, Laveen, Arizona, United States. The campus is located at 8225 South 59th Ave. Fairfax's enrollment is about 1,678 students. It predominantly serves students from partner elementary districts Laveen and Roosevelt. The high school was designed by DLR Group and features a small learning community curriculum model. The school's namesake, longtime (57-year) Phoenix Union educator Betty Harriet Fairfax, died in November 2010 at the age of 92. It was the first school in the district to be named after an employee.

It was constructed in 1940 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.It is a one-story adobe building with a full basement, with some elements of American Craftsman style in its dormers, gable outriggers, bargeboards, and Spanish roof tile. It has also been known as Building A, Laveen School.

Laveen ( lə-VEEN) is a community in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States, situated eight miles (13 km) southwest of Downtown Phoenix, between South Mountain and the confluence of the Gila and Salt rivers. Parts of Laveen constitute an unincorporated community in Maricopa County, while the remainder falls within the city limits of Phoenix, constituting the city's "Laveen Village" an urban village within the city of Phoenix. Laveen Village is split between District 7 and District 8, both notable as minority-majority districts for the city. Although Laveen has been home to "pastoral alfalfa, cotton, and dairy farms" since the 1880s, housing and commercial developments have been increasingly urbanizing the area.

Cesar Chavez's enrollment is approximately 2,499 students, over 65 percent of whom are Hispanic. The school predominantly serves students from partner elementary districts Laveen and Roosevelt; however, students from across the district come to Cesar Chavez for large Advanced Placement and Honors program, Freshmen House, performing arts, and athletic programs.

Sierra Linda High School is a high school located in the west part of Phoenix, Arizona, USA, administered by the Tolleson Union High School District. It had 1,787 students as of October 1, 2013, but currently holds about 1,867 as of the 2018–19 school year. It opened in 2008; due to facility issues, students attended the first semester of classes at La Joya Community High School, then moved into the campus in January 2009. Students of the 2012 cohort were the first graduating class, with approximately 355 students. Valley Metro Bus's route 67 terminates outside of the school.

Alvord was the sole heir to the Edgar Apperson fortune. They made their home together in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Manzanita Speedway was a dirt track racing facility located in the suburban southwestern part of Phoenix, Arizona, United States. The facility had a 1/3 mile and 1/2 mile tracks. The track held USAC events up through the 2009 Sprint Car season opener. The track was sold to a rigging company and the final race was held on April 11, 2009.

The station's transmitter is off South 23rd Avenue in Phoenix.The station broadcasts with 1,000 watts by day; but because AM 740 is a Canadian clear-channel frequency, it must reduce power to 292 watts at night to avoid causing interference to CFZM. The station also protects KCBS in San Francisco and KTRH in Houston. KIDR uses a directional antenna around the clock.
