Laveen School Auditorium

Laveen ( lə-VEEN) is a community in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States, situated eight miles (13 km) southwest of Downtown Phoenix, between South Mountain and the confluence of the Gila and Salt rivers. Parts of Laveen constitute an unincorporated community in Maricopa County, while the remainder falls within the city limits of Phoenix, constituting the city's "Laveen Village" an urban village within the city of Phoenix. Laveen Village is split between District 7 and District 8, both notable as minority-majority districts for the city. Although Laveen has been home to "pastoral alfalfa, cotton, and dairy farms" since the 1880s, housing and commercial developments have been increasingly urbanizing the area.

Betty H. Fairfax is a high school in the Phoenix Union High School District, Laveen, Arizona, United States. The campus is located at 8225 South 59th Ave. Fairfax's enrollment is about 1,678 students. It predominantly serves students from partner elementary districts Laveen and Roosevelt. The high school was designed by DLR Group and features a small learning community curriculum model. The school's namesake, longtime (57-year) Phoenix Union educator Betty Harriet Fairfax, died in November 2010 at the age of 92. It was the first school in the district to be named after an employee.

Cesar Chavez High School is part of the Phoenix Union High School District. The campus is located at 3921 West Baseline Road, south of Phoenix, in Laveen, Arizona. Cesar Chavez's enrollment is approximately 2,499 students, over 65 percent of whom are Hispanic. The school predominantly serves students from partner elementary districts Laveen and Roosevelt; however, students from across the district come to Cesar Chavez for large Advanced Placement and Honors program, Freshmen House, performing arts, and athletic programs.

Alvord Lake is an urban fishing lake located in Cesar Chavez Park in Laveen, Arizona, at the southwest corner of 35th Avenue and Baseline Road.Alvord Lake was part of a parcel of land willed to the city of Phoenix, Arizona by Gilbert Alvord. Alvord was the sole heir to the Edgar Apperson fortune. They made their home together in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Sachs-Webster House or Farmstead is an historic site and structure located in Laveen, Arizona. On the farmstead is a turn-of-the-20th-Century Sears Catalog Home built by "the original settlers of the community of Laveen".

The Manzanita Speedway was a dirt track racing facility located in the suburban southwestern part of Phoenix, Arizona, United States. The facility had a 1/3 mile and 1/2 mile tracks. The track held USAC events up through the 2009 Sprint Car season opener. The track was sold to a rigging company and the final race was held on April 11, 2009.

Arizona Lutheran Academy (ALA) is a high school located in Phoenix, Arizona. The school is affiliated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The high school was founded in 1978 and has been located in its present 18-acre (73,000 m2) campus since 1986. ALA is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Accreditation and School Improvement. The school's mascot is the coyote and its colors black and gold ALA is a member of the 2A Conference of the Arizona Interscholastic Association.

KIDR (740 kHz) is an AM radio station in Phoenix, Arizona. KIDR is owned by En Familia, Inc. and airs a Spanish-language Roman Catholic religious radio format. The station's transmitter is off South 23rd Avenue in Phoenix.The station broadcasts with 1,000 watts by day; but because AM 740 is a Canadian clear-channel frequency, it must reduce power to 292 watts at night to avoid causing interference to CFZM. The station also protects KCBS in San Francisco and KTRH in Houston. KIDR uses a directional antenna around the clock.

Jain Center of Greater Phoenix (JCGP) is a Jain temple in Phoenix, Arizona. It was established in 2008. It represents about 150 families in the Phoenix metro area.

Sierra Linda High School is a high school located in the west part of Phoenix, Arizona, USA, administered by the Tolleson Union High School District. It had 1,787 students as of October 1, 2013, but currently holds about 1,867 as of the 2018–19 school year. It opened in 2008; due to facility issues, students attended the first semester of classes at La Joya Community High School, then moved into the campus in January 2009. Students of the 2012 cohort were the first graduating class, with approximately 355 students. Valley Metro Bus's route 67 terminates outside of the school.

Maricopa Colony is a census-designated place (CDP) in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States, located in the federally recognized Gila River Indian Community. The population was 854 at the 2020 census, up from 709 at the 2010 census. It is located on the southern side of the Phoenix metropolitan area, around Baseline Road and 83rd Avenue.
