KNAI (860 AM; "La Campesina 101.9") is a Regional Mexican-formatted radio station in Phoenix, Arizona. KNAI is owned by the Farmworker Educational Radio Network, Inc. Its studios are located in Phoenix near Piestewa Peak and its transmitter is in South Phoenix near Broadway and 27th Avenue. KNAI operates by day with 940 watts non-directional and at 1,000 watts at night with a directional antenna. Its programming is also heard on two translator stations, K270BZ (101.9 FM) and K270CV (101.9 FM). 860 AM is a Canadian clear-channel frequency, on which CJBC in Toronto, Ontario is the dominant Class A station.

Arizona Lutheran Academy (ALA) is a high school located in Phoenix, Arizona. The school is affiliated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The high school was founded in 1978 and has been located in its present 18-acre (73,000 m2) campus since 1986. ALA is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Accreditation and School Improvement. The school's mascot is the coyote and its colors black and gold ALA is a member of the 2A Conference of the Arizona Interscholastic Association.

It was constructed in 1991.Estrella Jail received media attention in 2013 during the trial of Jodi Arias. The media were invited to view her cell by sheriff Joe Arpaio following reports the accused murderer was having an easy time while incarcerated.

Alvord was the sole heir to the Edgar Apperson fortune. They made their home together in Phoenix, Arizona.

ASP Phoenix-West is located in southwest Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. ASP Phoenix-West has an inmate capacity of approximately 470 in 1 housing unit at security levels 2. The ADC uses a score classification system to assess inmates appropriate custody and security level placement. The scores range from 1 to 5 with 5 being the highest risk or need. ASP Phoenix-West is a secure, minimum custody private prison.

Phoenix Fan Fusion (formerly Phoenix Comicon and Phoenix Comic Fest) is a speculative fiction entertainment and comic book convention held annually in Phoenix, Arizona. It was founded as the Phoenix Cactus Comicon in June 2002, and originally consisted of a one-day six-hour event held in Ahwatukee, Arizona. The convention plays host to comic related panels, programming events, art contests, and autograph signings for all ages. It is a four-day event (Thursday-Sunday) held during the summer at the Phoenix Convention Center in downtown Phoenix. On Thursday evening prior to the official opening of the event, there is a preview for professionals, exhibitors, and select guests pre-registered for all four days. Originally showcasing comic books, science fiction/fantasy and film/television, and related popular arts, the convention has expanded over the years to include a larger range of pop culture elements, such as horror, anime, manga, animation, toys, collectible card games, video games, webcomics, and fantasy novels. In 2016, the convention set an attendance record of 106,096, and reportedly generates approximately $5 million in revenue for the city of Phoenix. Then-Phoenix Comicon also began to expand programming into the surrounding hotels starting in 2013, including the Hyatt Regency, Marriott Renaissance and Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotels.

Laveen ( lə-VEEN) is a community in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States, situated eight miles (13 km) southwest of Downtown Phoenix, between South Mountain and the confluence of the Gila and Salt rivers. Parts of Laveen constitute an unincorporated community in Maricopa County, while the remainder falls within the city limits of Phoenix, constituting the city's "Laveen Village" an urban village within the city of Phoenix. Laveen Village is split between District 7 and District 8, both notable as minority-majority districts for the city. Although Laveen has been home to "pastoral alfalfa, cotton, and dairy farms" since the 1880s, housing and commercial developments have been increasingly urbanizing the area.

KIDR (740 kHz) is an AM radio station in Phoenix, Arizona. KIDR is owned by En Familia, Inc. and airs a Spanish-language Roman Catholic religious radio format. The station's transmitter is off South 23rd Avenue in Phoenix.The station broadcasts with 1,000 watts by day; but because AM 740 is a Canadian clear-channel frequency, it must reduce power to 292 watts at night to avoid causing interference to CFZM. The station also protects KCBS in San Francisco and KTRH in Houston. KIDR uses a directional antenna around the clock.

KASA (1540 kHz) was a commercial radio station broadcasting a classic regional Mexican radio format. It was licensed to Phoenix, Arizona, and was owned by KASA Radio Hogar, Inc. The studios are on West Baseline Road in Phoenix. By day, KASA transmitted with 10,000 watts. Because 1540 AM is a clear channel frequency, KASA reduced power at night to 19 watts to avoid interference to other stations. It used a directional antenna at all times. The transmitter was on West Baseline Road in Phoenix at South 15th Avenue. Programming was also heard on 150-watt FM translator K294CW at 106.7 MHz in Phoenix.
