Winnipauk was a station on the Danbury and Norwalk Railroad and later the Danbury Branch of the Housatonic Railroad and the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad. Located in the Winnipauk section of the northern part of Norwalk, Connecticut, the station opened in 1852 and was an important stop that served nearby mills before it was closed in 1929.

Richard C. Briggs High School was a secondary school located in Norwalk, Connecticut, USA. It opened in 1938 as a replacement for the Winnipauk School. Later it was turned into the secondary level Center for Vocational Arts but is now named after Dr. Richard C. Briggs, who was superintendent of Norwalk schools from 1971 to 1980. Now Briggs High is an alternative to the two traditional high schools (Norwalk and McMahon). Its current principal is Marie Allen. [1] Briggs students have the opportunity to enroll in the Briggs-Norwalk Community College Academy, in which they can take college classes at Norwalk Community College while they are still in high school. There is an active photography program at Briggs High School. The class of 2007 included 22 graduates.In January 2007 Briggs was listed by the ConnCAN educational research consultancy as number 7 in their list of Connecticut schools making significant progress in shrinking the gap between white and minority students on standardized test scores, and it was the only high school in the top 10 on the list.In August 2008 the school underwent some external refurbishments that included a new sign and trees planted in front of the building. Materials and labor were provided by volunteers from a nearby office of the General Electric corporation. Briggs high school was renamed Norwalk Pathways Academy and then closed in 2018.

The Silvermine River is an 8.4-mile-long (13.5 km) river that flows through the towns of Norwalk, Wilton and New Canaan, Connecticut. It is spanned by the 1899 Perry Avenue Bridge in the Silvermine neighborhood, and by the Silvermine River Bridge that carries the Merritt Parkway. Silvermine is an unincorporated community in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States that extends across three southwestern Connecticut towns: Norwalk, New Canaan and Wilton.The name "Silvermine" comes from old legends of a silver mine in the area, although no silver has ever been found. Silvermine was long an art colony and remains the home of the Silvermine Guild Arts Center. The Silvermine Tavern, an inn occupying several historic buildings, also remains in the neighborhood. Silver Hill Hospital is just beyond the northern end of the neighborhood, in New Canaan near the Wilton border. There are two community groups specific to Silvermine: The Silvermine Community Association and the Norwalk Association of Silvermine Homeowners (NASH).

Kent Road station was a commuter rail stop on the Danbury Branch of the Metro-North Railroad's New Haven Line. It was located near the border between Wilton and Norwalk, south of a grade crossing with Kent Road in Wilton, Connecticut. It opened in 1976 and closed in 1994. A previous station on the site, South Wilton, closed in 1971.

The Perry Avenue Bridge over the Silvermine River in the Silvermine section of Norwalk, Connecticut was built in 1899. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.Its depiction in paintings and photographs by artists of nearby art schools has been repetitive. It "has come to represent the history and character of the Silvermine region in Fairfield County.": 8 Features include a cut stone ring and rusticated brownstone curbing.A 1955 flood ripped rocks from its spandrels, making it impassable.

The Joseph Loth Company Building is a historic industrial building at 25 Grand Street in Norwalk, Connecticut. It is a two-story brick Romanesque Revival structure with a four-story clock tower. The rear of the building has been altered by the addition of modern concrete sections in the 1950s. Built in 1903, it is a well-preserved example of industrial architecture of the period, and is a local landmark.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 17, 1984.

South Wilton is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Wilton, Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. It is in the southern part of the town along U.S. Route 7, in the valley of the Norwalk River. It is bordered to the north by Wilton Center and to the south by the city of Norwalk. South Wilton was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

Cranbury Park is the largest public park in Norwalk, Connecticut. It is located in northern Norwalk, on the former Gallaher Estate, a 227-acre (92 ha) country estate developed in the 1920s by Edward Beach Gallaher, an important figure in the early American automobile industry. The park's amenities include miles of walking trails, a picnic pavilion, a disc golf course, and the Carriage House Arts Center, located in the estate's former carriage house. The park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Spring Hill is a section of Norwalk, Connecticut named after the hill on which most of the neighborhood sits. The neighborhood is located west of the Central section of Norwalk, across U.S. Route 7 and north of Interstate 95 and U.S. Route 1. Norwalk Hospital is on the eastern edge of the neighborhood. Riverside Cemetery is on the northeastern edge. About 9,000 people live in Spring Hill, a densely populated part of the city where condominiums have been built in recent decades. The Spring Hill Neighborhood Association is an advocacy group for the community. In 2008, the parks committee of the First Taxing District of Norwalk agreed to create a park out of a 0.75-acre (3,000 m2) tract surrounding the water towers in the neighborhood (bordered by Dover Street, Grandview Avenue and Magnolia Street). The property includes several oak trees that are about 150 years old. Up until the creation of the park, the neighborhood was the only one in Norwalk without a park. Riverside Park, a 1-mile (1.6 km) long strip, previously existed where the "Super 7" highway connector was built in the early 1980s.Norwalk Hospital is a major landowner in the neighborhood. Aside from the land where the hospital buildings are located, the hospital owns more than a dozen parcels totaling roughly 6 acres (2.4 ha) on Truman, Stevens and Maple streets, Magnolia Avenue and Rhodonolia. The parcels contain houses, condominiums and medical facilities.Jefferson Science Magnet School is located in Spring Hill.
