The Nonnenbach is a seven-kilometre-long tributary of the Ahr in the area of Blankenheim in the district of Euskirchen in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Blankenheim is a municipality in the district of Euskirchen in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

The Ahr Cycleway (German: Ahr-Radweg) is a cycle path, that runs from the source of the River Ahr in Blankenheim, in the Eifel region of Germany, along the river to its mouth on the Rhine near Kripp. Several sections are on an old railway trackbed. The route starts in the middle of the Eifel mountains and runs initially through a valley landscape with broad river bends. From the hamlet of Schuld the Ahr Valley narrows and swings around the settlement in a loop. In Altenahr, hillsides and rocks come close to the river itself and offer the best conditions for the wine growing. Behind the spa town of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler the Ahr reaches its broad delta on the Rhine. The cycleway is not difficult and suitable for leisure cyclists. The route is uniformly signed with the cycleway's logo.

Blankenheim Castle (German: Burg Blankenheim) is a schloss above the village of Blankenheim in the Eifel mountains of Germany. It was built as a hill castle around 1115 by Gerhard I and became the family seat of the House of Blankenheim. The lords of Blankenheim were elevated to the countship in 1380. The counts were related to the counts of Manderscheid and, from 1469, were named Manderscheid-Blankenheim. With the extinction of the lines of Manderscheid-Gerolstein and Manderscheid-Kail (1742) the County of Manderscheid became the largest independent territorial lordship in the Eifel.

Marmagen is a German tradesmen's village in the Eifel with a population of about 1,600. The formerly independent parish has been part of the municipality of Nettersheim in the district of Euskirchen since 1969. Marmagen is the oldest village in the former district of Schleiden and goes back to the Roman vicus of Marcomagus on the Roman road from Trier to Cologne which is recorded in Roman itineraries of the 2nd to 4th centuries. After a 700-year history as an abbey village owned by the nearby Premonstratensian Abbey of Steinfeld since the early 1900s Marmagen has developed a distinct culture of trades in the building sector. Today Marmagen sees itself as a 'nature experience village' and is the site of the well known clinic, Eifelhöhenklinik AG Marmagen.

The Erft (pronounced [ʔɛɐ̯ft]) is a river in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It flows through the foothills of the Eifel, and joins the Lower Rhine (left tributary). Its origin is near Nettersheim, and its mouth in Neuss-Grimlinghausen south of the Josef Cardinal Frings Bridge. The river is 106.6 kilometres (66.2 mi) long, which is significantly shorter than it was originally. Due to the open-pit mining of lignite in the Hambacher Loch, the flow of the river had to be changed. The Erft gave its name to the town of Erftstadt, through which it flows, as well as to the Rhein-Erft district. It also flows through the towns of Bad Münstereifel, Euskirchen, Bergheim, Bedburg and Grevenbroich.
