Mile End is a district of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in the East End of London, England, 4.2 miles (6.8 km) east-northeast of Charing Cross. Situated on the London-to-Colchester road, it was one of the earliest suburbs of London. It became part of the metropolitan area in 1855, and is connected to the London Underground. It was also known as Mile End Old Town; the name provides a geographical distinction from the unconnected former hamlet called Mile End New Town. In 2011, Mile End had a population of 28,544.

St Clements Hospital was a mental health hospital located between Mile End and Bow, in the East End of London.

Mile End is a London Underground station in Mile End, London. It is served by the Hammersmith & City, District and Central lines. This station features a cross-platform interchange in both directions, District and Hammersmith & City lines stopping on the inside tracks and the Central line stopping on the outside tracks. It is in Travelcard Zone 2.

Tredegar Square pronounced is a well-preserved Georgian square in Mile End, and is in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The square has gardens in the centre with lawns and large trees.

The Backstreet is a gay leather bar on the Mile End Road in London's East End. It is London's longest running, and only remaining leather bar, having opened in April 1985. In 2019, it was saved from redevelopment by Tower Hamlets Council, which stated that the redevelopment would "harm the long-term provision of a nightclub that serves the LGBT+ community".

Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park is a local nature reserve and historic cemetery in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets within the East End of London. It is regarded as one of the seven great cemeteries of the Victorian era (now known as the "Magnificent Seven"). The cemetery opened in 1841 and closed for burials in 1966. The cemetery park today encompasses the original cemetery, bounded by historic walls, and additional pockets of land including "Scrapyard Meadow" and the Ackroyd Drive Greenlink. It was originally named The City of London and Tower Hamlets Cemetery but was called Bow Cemetery by locals. The cemetery pre-dates the creation of the modern Borough of Tower Hamlets in 1965, and instead takes its name from the original, older and somewhat larger, Tower Hamlets (or Tower division) – from which the modern borough also takes its name. The historic parish boundary which defines the Mile End and Bromley-by-Bow areas runs north to south through the park, with Mile End to the west and Bromley-by-Bow to the east.

Central Foundation Girls’ School is a voluntary-aided comprehensive girls’ school in Bow, London, England, for 11- to 18-year-olds. It is the sister school to Central Foundation Boys' School in Islington. Both schools are beneficiaries of the charity Central Foundation Schools of London, which in turn is a beneficiary of The Dulwich Estate, successor to the historic College of God's Gift charity.The school's origins can be traced back to the founding of Bishopsgate Ward School in The school's origins can be traced back to the founding of Bishopsgate Ward School in St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate in 1726. The school moved to various locations including Fanmakers’ Hall, St. Botolph’s churchyard and other buildings around the location of the present Liverpool Street railway station. In 1891 the Central Foundation Schools of London was established to support the boys's school in Cowper Street and the girsl school in Spital Square. Both schools prior to the 1945 Education Act were fee-charging, as were most selective grammar schools at that time. The school was a state grammar school until 1975 when it became comprehensive and at the same time relocated from Spital Square to Bow. In 2011 Ofsted rated the school 'good', with many outstanding features. The inspectors particularly liked the harmonious community and positive ethos. Students were praised for their courteous and respectful behaviour and keen attitudes to learning. Inspectors also praised the Parents’ Forum and range of classes for parents. Sixth form students were found to have a sense of self-direction and ambition and received good support and guidance with university applications. The inspectors also praised the headteacher for her inspirational leadership. The 2016 and 2021 inspections maintained the status of 'good'.

Coborn Road was a railway station in Old Ford, east London, 2 miles 28 chains (3.8 km) down the main line from Liverpool Street. It was opened on 1 February 1865 in what was then in Bow by the Great Eastern Railway (GER) with the name Old Ford. It had two platforms and the station buildings were located at the London End on Coborn Road itself.

The Lord Tredegar is a pub at 50 Lichfield Road, Bow, London E3. It is a Grade II listed building, built in the mid-19th century.It is part of the Remarkable Restaurants chain of 13 pubs in London.

Ackroyd Drive Greenlink is a 0.87 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Mile End in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It forms a green corridor between Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park and Mile End Park.The Greenlink is a linear site between Ackroyd Drive and a railway viaduct. It is bisected by roads into five rectangular plots. From the south these are Cowslip Meadow, allotments, Blackberry Meadow, Peartree Meadow and Primrose Meadow.

The Guardian Angels Church is a Roman Catholic church at 377 Mile End Road in Mile End, east London. Designed by Frederick Arthur Walters, it was opened in 1903 and paid for by Henry Fitzalan-Howard, 15th Duke of Norfolk as a memorial to his youngest sister, Lady Margaret Howard, who had performed charitable work in the East End.The church and its presbytery are both grade II listed buildings.

Bow () is an area of East London within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is primarily a built-up and mostly residential area and is 4.6 miles (7.4 km) east of Charing Cross. It was in the traditional county of Middlesex but became part of the County of London following the passing of the Local Government Act 1888. "Bow" is an abbreviation of the medieval name Stratford-at-Bow, in which "Bow" refers to the bowed bridge built here in the early 12th century. Bow contains parts of both Victoria Park and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Old Ford and Fish Island are localities within Bow, but Bromley-by-Bow (historically and officially just "Bromley") immediately to the south, is a separate district. These distinctions have their roots in historic parish boundaries. Bow underwent extensive urban regeneration including the replacement or improvement of council homes, with the impetus given by the staging of the 2012 Olympic Games at nearby Stratford.
