Mile End tube station

The Backstreet is a gay leather bar on the Mile End Road in London's East End. It is London's longest running, and only remaining leather bar, having opened in April 1985. In 2019, it was saved from redevelopment by Tower Hamlets Council, which stated that the redevelopment would "harm the long-term provision of a nightclub that serves the LGBT+ community".

Mile End is a district of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in the East End of London, England, 4.2 miles (6.8 km) east-northeast of Charing Cross. Situated on the London-to-Colchester road, it was one of the earliest suburbs of London. It became part of the metropolitan area in 1855, and is connected to the London Underground. It was also known as Mile End Old Town; the name provides a geographical distinction from the unconnected former hamlet called Mile End New Town. In 2011, Mile End had a population of 28,544.

Tredegar Square pronounced is a well-preserved Georgian square in Mile End, and is in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The square has gardens in the centre with lawns and large trees.

The Guardian Angels Church is a Roman Catholic church at 377 Mile End Road in Mile End, east London. Designed by Frederick Arthur Walters, it was opened in 1903 and paid for by Henry Fitzalan-Howard, 15th Duke of Norfolk as a memorial to his youngest sister, Lady Margaret Howard, who had performed charitable work in the East End.The church and its presbytery are both grade II listed buildings.

St Clements Hospital was a mental health hospital located between Mile End and Bow, in the East End of London.

Coborn Road was a railway station in Old Ford, east London, 2 miles 28 chains (3.8 km) down the main line from Liverpool Street. It was opened on 1 February 1865 in what was then in Bow by the Great Eastern Railway (GER) with the name Old Ford. It had two platforms and the station buildings were located at the London End on Coborn Road itself.

Mile End Park is a park located in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is a linear park of some 32 hectares (79 acres), and was created on industrial land devastated by World War II bombing. Some of the park is within Limehouse and Globe Town/Bethnal Green, with the park lying on land to the east of the Regent's Canal. In the north, it is separated from the southern edge of Victoria Park by the Hertford Union Canal. It is open 24 hours a day. A plan existed from the end of the war to create the park, but extensive development did not begin until the end of the millennium. A pedestrian bridge, opened in July 1999, was built over the Mile End Road, which bisects the park, near Mile End tube station. The bridge was designed by Piers Gough. Prior to the park's construction, 193 Grove Road - at the edge of the park - was transformed by sculptor Rachel Whiteread into a cast of its interior. This work won her the Turner Prize in 1993. In 1381, 60,000 Men of Essex camped here and met Richard II at Mile End, on 14 June 1381, during the Peasants' Revolt.The park now consists of a number of elements (running north–south): The Play Arena - for children, The Ecology Park - including a lake, an ecology building, wind turbine and climbing wall, The Arts Park, The Green Bridge, The Terraced Garden, The South Park, Adventure Park, Sports Park - including the Mile End stadium, Kirk's Place and The Children's Park. Nearby are an extreme sports centre and an electric Go kart track. The park has an active Friends group The Friends of Mile End Park. The Ragged School Museum opened in 1990 in three canal side former warehouses in Copperfield Road. It faces the western edge of the park south of Mile End Road. The buildings previously housed Dr Barnado's Copperfield Road Ragged School. The park has been awarded the London First Award, the Green bridge the Institution of Civil Engineers Award of Merit, a commendation at the British Construction Industry Awards and a special commendation from the Prime Minister's Award.

Mile End Lock is a lock on the Regent's Canal, in Mile End, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The lock spans the Regent's Canal between Queen Mary University of London and Mile End Park, and the canal path goes under Mile End Bridge. There is a 19th-century lock keeper's cottage.The nearest London Underground station is Mile End.

The Novo Cemetery is a Grade II listed Sephardic Jewish cemetery located within the grounds of Queen Mary University of London in Mile End in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Opened in 1733, it is one of only two exclusively Sephardic cemeteries left in England.

Mile End Stadium, also known as the East London Stadium, is a multi-sports stadium in Mile End and situated in the park of the same name, East London, England. The stadium comprises an athletics stadium and a number of floodlit Astroturf football pitches, tennis and netball courts. The new sports complex with a 25m swimming pool was refurbished in 2019.The stadium is home to two senior football clubs: Sporting Bengal United of the Essex Senior League and Leyton Orient Women of the FA Women's National League. It was formerly home to Tower Hamlets FC (and an earlier club, by the same name).It hosted a concert by Britpop band Blur on 17 June 1995, where 27,000 fans saw the band supported by The Boo Radleys, Sparks, John Shuttleworth, Dodgy and Cardiacs.
