Piddington Roman Villa

Piddington is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Hackleton, in the West Northamptonshire district, in the ceremonial county of Northamptonshire, England. It is in the south of Northamptonshire, just north of Buckinghamshire. It is 6 miles (10 km) south of Northampton town centre, in a cul-de-sac off the main road at the War Memorial in the village of Hackleton, and about 1 mile (2 km) south-west of there. It has a geographic size of 1,693 acres (6.85 km2) and an average height of 300 ft (91 m), rising steadily to 400 ft (120 m) in Salcey Forest. In 1931 the parish had a population of 342.

Hackleton is a village located in West Northamptonshire, just north of Buckinghamshire. It is 5 miles (8.0 km) south of Northampton town centre, and 2 miles (3.2 km) by road to the M1 London to Yorkshire motorway junction 15 and 11 miles (18 km) north of junction 14. London is 62 miles (100 km) south via junction 14 and 47 miles (76 km) southeast of Birmingham via junction 15. It lies on the busy B526 road (former A50) from Northampton to Newport Pagnell, between Horton and Wootton. The parish area is about 1,030 acres (420 ha). The villages name means 'Farm/settlement connected with Haeccel'.

Salcey Forest railway station was a short-lived railway station in England, on the Stratford-upon-Avon, Towcester and Midland Junction Railway which opened on 1 December 1892 near the Northamptonshire forest of the same name. The station was not situated near any settlement and only saw passenger services for four months. It is most likely an error of judgement by the railway company which had provided substantial station facilities in expectation of traffic which never came. Salcey Forest station eventually closed on 31 March 1893 and has an arguable claim, along with Stoke Bruerne, of having had the shortest passenger service ever provided at any British railway station. Goods facilities were withdrawn in 1952.

Horton is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Hackleton, in the West Northamptonshire district, in the ceremonial county of Northamptonshire, England. The village manor, Horton Hall, now demolished, was home to the first governor of the Bank of England and William Parr, 1st Baron Parr of Horton. An outline of its former nucleus can be seen in neighbouring fields, by its grade II park and garden which features an ornamental bridge.

Denton Road, also known as Horton House Cricket Club Ground, is a cricket ground in Horton, Northamptonshire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1966, when the Northamptonshire Second XI played the Middlesex Second XI. From 1966 to 1984, the ground hosted 20 Second XI Championship matches for the Northamptonshire Second XI. In 1976, the ground held its first List-A match when Northamptonshire played Essex in the Benson and Hedges Cup. The ground held its second and final List-A match in 1977, which saw Northamptonshire play Minor Counties East in the Benson and Hedges Cup.In local domestic cricket, the ground is the home venue of Horton House Cricket Club.

Horton Rounds is a modernist house in the village of Horton, Northamptonshire. The house was built in 1966 by A. A. J. Marshman, a senior partner in Marshman, Warren and Taylor, a regional architectural practice.In September 2012 the house was listed at Grade II on the National Heritage List for England. In the designation it was stated that, "Along with Peter Lambert Gibbs's own house of 1965, Fernhill in Ashdown Forest, and Robert Harvey's houses in Warwickshire, Horton Rounds is one of the best in the country of a small group of post-war houses clearly influenced by the work of Frank Lloyd Wright."

Horton Hall, known locally as Horton House, was a stone-built Georgian stately home, now demolished, located on a 3,764 acre estate stretching across nine parishes on the Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire borders.

Preston Deanery is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Hackleton, in the West Northamptonshire district, in the ceremonial county of Northamptonshire, England. It is 4 miles (6 km) south of Northampton town centre and 1.5 miles (2 km) by road to the M1 London to Yorkshire motorway junction 15. It lies just off the B526 road (former A50) from Northampton to Newport Pagnell, between Hackleton and Wootton, a former village which has become now a suburb of Northampton. The 2010 population estimate was 51.The village's name means 'Priests' farm/settlement'. The hamlet gave its name to the deanery here.

St Peter and St Paul's Church is a redundant Anglican church in the hamlet of Preston Deanery, Northamptonshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. Although the church is not open for regular worship, it still hosts occasional special services, such as Pentecost and Christmas services for the Living Brook Benefice.

Northampton Shaleway also known as Brafield, is used for BriSCA F1 Stock Cars, BriSCA Formula 2 Stock Cars, V8 Hotstox, and various other forms of oval motor sport including National Hot Rods, Banger racing, Saloon Stock Cars, Ministox and Rebels. Northampton was a rural district in Northamptonshire, England from 1894 to 1974. It was created under the Local Government Act 1894 based on the Northampton rural sanitary district. In 1932, under a County Review order, it took in the disbanded Hardingstone Rural District and two parishes from Pottersbury Rural District. The district was abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972. Part of it was added to the new Northampton district, with the rest going to form the new district of South Northamptonshire.

Salcey Forest is a fragment of a former medieval hunting forest east of the village of Hartwell, between Northampton and Newport Pagnell in Northamptonshire. It is managed by Forestry England and to promote biodiversity, and is also commercially exploited for timber products. The eastern third of the forest, an area of 159.6 hectares, is a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
