Marston Road

New Marston is a suburb about 1.25 miles (2 km) northeast of the centre of Oxford, England.

Milham Ford School was a girls' secondary school in Oxford, England, located in the suburb of New Marston on Marston Road. It was founded in East Oxford in the 1880s and closed in 2003.

Mesopotamia is a narrow ait (about 800 yards by 30 yards) that forms part of the University Parks in Oxford, England. It lies between the upper and lower levels of the River Cherwell which are partly interspersed with the Thames. The name Mesopotamia in Greek means "between the rivers", and is shared with an area between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in present-day Iraq. The land was purchased by the University of Oxford during the expansion of the Oxford University Parks between 1860 and 1865. A footpath, Mesopotamia Walk, laid out in 1865 runs along the centre of the spur to Kings Mill.The Domesday Book records a watermill on this site and milling continued until 1825; one level of the river was once the mill stream. From 1914, attempts were made to introduce wild ducks and geese to the area, which proved fruitless due to a predatory otter population. Until 1926, a ferry operated from a point halfway along the Walk, when it was replaced by a footbridge. Position: grid reference SP525069

Headington Hill Park is a park on Headington Hill in the east of Oxford, England.The park is part of the grounds of Headington Hill Hall, previously owned by the Morrell family, bought by Oxford City Council, and leased to Oxford Brookes University since 1992. The landscaping for the park was originally designed in the 1850s by William Hart Baxter, curator of the Oxford Botanical Garden. The park was bought by the City Council in 1953 and landscaped with trees and ornamental shrubs.Headington Hill Park is located between the Marston Road and London Road. St Clement's links the park with central Oxford. On the other side of London Road is South Park, also owned by the Morrell family until 1939. Headington Hill Park is connected to South Park via a high-level wrought-iron footbridge over the main London Road up Headington Hill.Headington Hill Park has been used for many outside events including Shakespeare plays by Creation Theatre company and from 2012 has been used for wedding receptions.

Headington Hill Hall stands on Headington Hill in the east of Oxford, England. It was built in 1824 for the Morrell family, who remained in residence for 114 years. It became the home to Pergamon Press and to media tycoon Robert Maxwell. It currently houses Oxford Brookes School of Law.

Headington Road is an arterial road in the east of Oxford, England. The road connects the junction of St Clements and Marston Road with the suburb of Headington, up Headington Hill. When it reaches the Headley Way junction, it becomes London Road, as the Boundary Brook runs under the road at this point. To the south is South Park, from which good views of the city centre with its historic university buildings can be seen. Also to the south on Gipsy Lane at the top of Headington Hill is the Headington campus of Oxford Brookes University, originally the Oxford Polytechnic. Pullens Lane leads off to the north at the top of Headington Hill. Headington Hill Hall, built in 1824 for the Morrell family, local brewers, is nearby, with its associated Headington Hill Park bordering Headington Road to the north. The road is designated the A420.

Brookes Union (also known officially as Oxford Brookes Students' Union) is a union representing students at Oxford Brookes University. The union offers a range of services for students; it hosts a number of student societies, an advice service and a system of student representation. The union-run Morals bar was open from 1992 until it closed in 2012 when, as part of a university redevelopment, the union moved to Gipsy Lane Campus (and occupied part of the new John Henry Brookes building). In 2012, it scored one of the lowest satisfaction rates in the National Student Survey but has since improved somewhat.

The Vines is on Pullens Lane, Headington, a suburb in east Oxford, England. It was the first house to be built on the west side of the lane, on land that was originally owned by the Morrell family, local brewers. The house is built of red brick with stone dressings. The house was built in 1889–90 for Professor Sydney Howard Vines (1849–1934). It was designed by the Victorian architect Harry Wilkinson Moore (1850–1915). In 1923, it became known as The Vineyard, after the first owner, Professor Vines. In 1948, the Vineyard was purchased by the United Oxford Hospitals, who renamed it to be Pollock House after its last owner. From 1948 to 1956, it was used as the Nurses Training School of the then Wingfield-Morris Orthopaedic Hospital, now the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. From 1958 till around 1976, it was used as the hospital's Night Nurses' Home. Subsequently, it was part of Oxford Brookes University until 2004. The house was renamed to The Vines, is now occupied by Scholarship & Christianity in Oxford (SCIO), the United Kingdom centre of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). Close by, also in Pullens Lane, is Cotuit Hall, part of EF International Academy and previously one of the halls of residence at Oxford Brookes University. This was designed by the same architect, H. W. Moore, and built in 1892. In the past, it was known as Napier House.

Cotuit Hall is part of the EF International Academy's campus in Oxford, England. Until 2011 it was one of the halls of residence at Oxford Brookes University.
