Llangynog

Llangynog railway station was the western terminus station of the Tanat Valley Light Railway in Llangynog, Powys, Wales. The station opened in 1904, closed for passengers in 1951 and closed completely in 1952. It had a single platform and a run round loop with sidings serving a goods yard on the north side. The site is now occupied by a caravan park.

Craig Rhiwarth is a mountain in the Berwyn range, in Powys (formerly Montgomeryshire), Wales, overlooking the village of Llangynog to the south. On the summit is an Iron Age hillfort, and there are remains of slate quarrying on the southern slopes.

Pistyll Rhaeadr (Welsh pronunciation: [pɪstɪɬ r̥aeadr], meaning "spring of the waterfall") is a waterfall 4 miles (6 kilometres) from the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant in Powys, Wales, and 16 miles (26 kilometres) west of Oswestry.

St Melangell's Church, Pennant Melangell is a small church located on a minor road which joins the B4391 near the village of Llangynog, Powys, Wales. It houses the restored shrine of Saint Melangell, reputed to be the oldest Romanesque shrine in Great Britain.

Pen-y-Bont-Fawr (or Penybontfawr) is a small village and community in Montgomeryshire, Powys, Wales located in the Tanat valley. In the 2011 UK Census it had a population of 440 with 58% born in England and 39% in Wales (many nearby hospitals are in England).It is in the electoral ward of Llanwddyn. St Thomas's Church was built in 1855 in the Victorian Gothic style. It is a Grade II listed building.Robert Ellis (1812–1875), bardic name Cynddelw, was a Welsh language poet, editor and lexicographer, He was born nearby at Tyn y Meini, Bryndreiniog. Penybontfawr railway station was on the Tanat Valley Light Railway. The station opened in 1904 and closed in 1951.

Cyrniau Nod is a mountain summit in north east Wales. It is a former Marilyn, the Marilyn summit now being the nearby Foel Cedig. Its summit has the Snowdonia National Park boundary running through it. A number of rivers and streams rise from near the mountain including Afon Tanat, Afon Cedig and Nant Ystrad-y-Groes. The views from the summit are extensive, if unremarkable due to the featureless, flat moorland surroundings. The summit is marked by a small cairn surrounded by peat bog. Walking on Cyrniau Nod and its tops is made easier by a track that passes close to every top except Cefn Gwyntog. Otherwise, the walking would be tough indeed, requiring tiresome bog crossing for miles.

Moel Sych (pronounced [ˈmɔil ˈsɨːx]) with a height of 826.7 metres (2,712 ft) is a subsidiary summit of Cadair Berwyn in north east Wales. It is the third highest summit in the Berwyn range after Cadair Berwyn and Cadair Berwyn North Top.The summit lies at the triple historic county boundary point of Montgomeryshire, Denbighshire and Merionethshire. It is the highest point (historic county top) of Montgomeryshire. The summit was often considered to be the highest summit in the Berwyns (and therefore the county top of Denbighshire as well as Montgomeryshire) until the Cadair Berwyn North Top, then known as Cadair Berwyn was found to be of the same height. Later on the OS discovered a new top in between the two, which was 5m higher at 832m. This top, now known as Cadair Berwyn, is listed as Cadair Berwyn New Top on the Nuttall list. The summit has a cairn, and overlooks Llyn Lluncaws in the southern Cwm.

Penybontfawr railway station was a station on the Tanat Valley Light Railway in Pen-y-bont-fawr, Powys, Wales. The station opened in 1904 and closed in 1951. The station site is now occupied by houses.

Foel Wen (pronounced [ˈvɔil ˈwɛn]) is a subsidiary summit of Cadair Berwyn in north east Wales. It is one of the summits found on the most easterly of Cadair Berwyn's long south ridges. The summit is grassy, and the entire face of Craig Berwyn can be viewed. To the north lies Tomle, while to the south lies its south top and Mynydd Tarw.

Stac Rhos is a top of Pen y Boncyn Trefeilw in north east Wales. It forms a part of the Berwyn range called the Hirnantau. The views from the summit are extensive, if unremarkable due to the featureless, flat moorland surroundings. The summit is marked by a small cairn, and a boundary stone. To the east is Cyrniau Nod, while Cefn Gwyntog is to the south-east.

Godor North Top is a top of Cadair Berwyn in north east Wales. It is the lower twin summit of Godor. The summit is a grassy, marked by a pile of stones.

Cadair Berwyn North Top or Cadair Berwyn (Old Top) (height 827 metres (2,713 ft) is a top of Cadair Berwyn in north east Wales. It is jointly the second highest summit in the Berwyn range along with Moel Sych (though an accurate survey in 2014 does suggest Moel Sych may be slightly lower at 826.7 metres (2,712 ft)). The summit was often considered to be the highest summit in the Berwyns until the OS discovered a new top in between it and Moel Sych, which is 5m higher at 832m. This top, now known as Cadair Berwyn, is listed as Cadair Berwyn New Top on the Nuttall list. The summit is the highest point in the modern Denbighshire council area (possibly jointly with Moel Sych), but not the historic county (which is the higher summit of Cadair Berwyn). The summit has a trig point. To the north-east is Cadair Bronwen, to the south-east is Tomle, Foel Wen and Mynydd Tarw.
