Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort is a golf and leisure complex that opened in 2007. It is located between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, in south-east Spain and surrounds a manor house that dates to the mid nineteenth century.

Polaris World was a holiday resort company centred on golf courses designed by Nicklaus Design - the golf course design and development firm set up by Jack Nicklaus and his sons. However, the company was established in 2001 by Pedro García Meroño and Facundo Armero. The resorts, which were expected to form a "golf trail" when completed, helped in the development of residential tourism in the Costa Calida region of Spain and were at one point the largest developer of holiday homes in the country. Polaris World was the largest golf resort developer in Murcia. The seven Polaris World resorts range in size from 55 hectares up to 900 hectares, with most around the 100 to 150 hectare size. Among the notable properties that formed part of the brand were: Mar Menor, La Torre, and El Valle. Condado de Alhama is the largest development - over 900 hectares with a golf course. Condado De Alhama is situated close to (25 minutes drive) the new Murcia International Airport, Corvera Airport. Polaris World sold these properties in 2010 and filed for bankruptcy in 2017.

Torre-Pacheco (Spanish pronunciation: [torepaˈtʃeko]) is a municipality in the autonomous community of Murcia in southeastern Spain. It covers an area of 189.4 km² and its population in 2019 was 35,676. The only high ground in the municipality is Cabezo Gordo hill, the location of the protected Sima de las Palomas archeological site. The town has one secondary education institution, the I.E.S. Gerardo Molina. The municipality is known for its golf courses, and its windmills are known region wide.

Mar Menor (Spanish pronunciation: [ˌmaɾ meˈnoɾ], "minor/smaller sea") is a coastal saltwater lagoon in the Iberian Peninsula located south-east of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Spain, near Cartagena. Its name is the opposite of the Mediterranean, which is the Mar Mayor (greater/larger sea) of the region. Four municipalities border the Mar Menor: Cartagena, Los Alcázares, San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar. With a surface area of 135 km2, a coastal length of 70 km, and warm and clear water no more than 7 metres in depth, it is the largest lagoon in Spain. The lagoon is separated from the Mediterranean Sea by La Manga ("the sleeve"), a sandbar 22 km in length whose width ranges from 100 to 1,200 metres, with Cape Palos in its south-eastern vertex making for the lagoon's roughly triangular shape. There are five islets located within the lagoon: Perdiguera islet, Mayor or El Barón islet, Ciervo islet, Redonda islet and del Sujeto islet. Its relatively high salinity (which aids flotation), low waves, and remarkable sporting infrastructures makes it a popular place for a wide variety of water sports.

Cañadas de San Pedro is a village in the Region of Murcia, Spain. It is part of the municipality of Murcia.

Los Alcázares (Spanish: [los alˈkaθaɾes]) is a municipality and a coastal spa town and former fishing village on the western side of the Mar Menor in the autonomous community and province of Murcia, southeastern Spain. The Mar Menor (little sea) belongs to three other municipalities: San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar and Cartagena and is Europe's largest saltwater lagoon. Connected to the adjacent Mediterranean sea by several channels, the Mar Menor has a surface area of almost 20 km2 and the fact that it is typically 2-4 degrees warmer than the Mediterranean, makes it a very popular destination for sailing, windsurfing, kiteboarding and other water sports enthusiasts. Los Alcazares has a resident population (2018) of 15,674 which rises to over 100,000 during the peak tourist summer holiday season. On 13 October 1983, the town was granted municipal autonomy, in respect of which it holds an annual week-long celebration featuring live music, shows, windsurfing competitions and firework displays. Besides the annual celebration of municipal autonomy, like many Spanish towns and cities, Los Alcazares also plays host to numerous fiestas and festivals throughout the year, including a large medieval market at the end of every March, and during the last two weeks in August, 'La Huerta' an international folklore festival and feast in celebration of the region's status as the market garden of Spain. Los Alcazares was used as a location for the 2008 movie of Ernest Hemingway's posthumous novel The Garden of Eden, starring Jack Huston, Richard E. Grant and Mena Suvari. A partly disused historic military air base at the southern end of the town was also used for location filming for the 2010 war movie, Green Zone featuring Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear and Jason Isaacs.

Hispania Carthaginensis was a Roman province segregated from Hispania Tarraconensis in the new division of Hispania by emperor Diocletian in 298. The capital of the new province was settled in Carthago Nova, now Cartagena. It encompassed the southern part of the Mediterranean coast of Spain, except that belonging to Hispania Baetica, and the inland of the country.

The Cresta del Gallo (Spanish: Cresta del Gallo) is a mountain formation with an altitude of 523 meters, located in the pedanía of Garres y Lages, within the Cordillera Sur (Murcia), and near the city of Murcia, Spain. The name of the mountain ("Rooster's Crest") comes from the set of large reddish rocks located at its peak, which give it the appearance of a rooster's comb. The largest of these formations is popularly called La Panocha by locals due to its resemblance to an ear of corn. Together with the Sierra de Carrascoy, to which it is a natural extension, it forms part of the Regional Park of Carrascoy and El Valle. On April 7, 1931, by Royal Order 59/1931, it was declared a natural site of national interest.

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Holy Fountain (Spanish: Santuario de Nuestra Señora de la Fuensanta) is a Baroque-style, Roman Catholic church in the pedanía of Algezares, part of the city of Murcia, in the region of Murcia, Spain. The sanctuary houses the image of Our Lady of Fuensanta, the patron saint of Murcia and its surrounding huerta (fertile plain). The image is a central part in religious processions to Murcia Cathedral in Lent and September.

Los Garres Castle (Spanish: Castillo de Los Garres) is a late Roman fortress dating from between the 4th and 7th centuries AD. It is located on the northern slopes of the Cresta del Gallo mountain range, in the area known as Quijal de La Vega, within the Murcian pedanía of Los Garres in Spain.

El Carmolí is an area in Los Urrutias, Cartagena municipality, in the Campo de Cartagena comarca, Region of Murcia, southeastern Spain. It used to be the site of a military air base, located near a homonymous hill in the flat Mar Menor area. One noteworthy spot in the territory is a hill which name is also El Carmolí and is an ancient volcano that started erupting seven million years ago.The El Carmolí zone is part of a protected area called Parque Natural de Espacios Abiertos e Islas del Mar Menor.
