Kingsland Bay State Park is a 264-acre state park in Ferrisburgh, Vermont, on the shore of Lake Champlain. Activities includes swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, picnicking, bicycling, wildlife watching, and winter sports. Facilities include boat rentals, a small beach with a snack bar, a picnic pavilion with two group grills and a smaller grill, other picnic tables, a horseshoe pit and toilets. There are several buildings available to rent for large group gatherings. The State of Vermont has designated 50 acres as the Kingsland Bay Natural Area. The area includes two peninsulas on Lake Champlain separated by Kingsland Bay that support unspoiled natural plant communities, on the shoreline as well as on and behind their bluffs. The Hulburt (western) portion features a lake bluff cedar-pine forest.

Otter Creek is the longest river entirely contained within the borders of Vermont. Roughly 112 miles (180 km) long, it is the primary watercourse running through Rutland County and Addison County. The mouth of the river flows into Lake Champlain. Settled by indigenous peoples at least 10-11,000 years ago, the river was an important economic region for indigenous people before European settlement. The river became an important economic region for settlers, who took advantage of the river for agriculture and industry through the 18th and 19th centuries.

Water Witch was constructed originally as a steamboat in Otter Creek, Vermont in 1832. In 1835, the Lake Champlain Transportation Company bought her and converted her into a schooner. Piloted by Captain Thomas Mock, who had on board his wife and three children and overloaded with iron ore, Water Witch sank in Lake Champlain during a storm on April 26, 1866. The Mocks′ infant, Roa, was in the cabin, and was lost.The wreck of Water Witch was discovered in 1977 by Derek Grout, a Canadian diver. It is considered one of the oldest fully intact commercial sailing ships located underwater in the United States The schooner lies on the bottom of Lake Champlain between New York and Vermont. The vessel is historically significant for its history and construction. The location of Water Witch is an archaeological grave site preserved by the Underwater Historic Preserve System.

The McNeil Homestead is a historic ferry-related property off Wings Point Road in Charlotte, Vermont, USA. The complex includes a 19th-century house, former tavern, and barn, all built by members of the McNeil family, the first operators of the Charlotte-Essex Ferry, whose eastern terminus is just south of the property. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Spade Farm Covered Bridge, also called the Old Hollow Covered Bridge is a covered bridge that crosses a storm drainage ditch off State Route 7 in Ferrisburgh, Vermont. The bridge is of Town lattice and was built by Justin Miller.

The Crater Club is a seasonal residential enclave on the shore of Lake Champlain approximately one mile south of Essex, New York within the Adirondack Park region. The club was originally developed as a summer retreat by the naturalist and outdoor writer John Bird Burnham in the early 1900s. Currently the Crater Club consists of over 40 homes, a clubhouse, playing fields, four clay tennis courts, and a waterfront featuring a permanent pier and a screened building known as Burnham's Landing. This latter building is also the headquarters of the Split Rock Yacht Club, which maintains a small but active racing fleet of Cape Cod Knockabout sailboats and holds weekly sailboat races during the summer season open to these and other small one-design classes. Like the Scouting Movement, the Crater Club is an example of the American movement that embraced basic, "frontier" values in contrast to the rampant urbanization and industrialization of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Early members purchased lots from Burnham then built simple cottages that deliberately eschewed the luxuries and decorative excesses of Adirondack "Great Camps" such as those designed by William L. Coulter of Saranac Lake. Crater Club members swam, sailed small boats, and hiked for pleasure, believing in the salubrious effects of exposure to Nature on work-wearied urbanites and their children. Although many of the early residents were in business, others were academics and other professionals. A number of books have been produced by Crater Club residents during their sojourns there, and the club and its facilities still provide a warm community for families seeking a quiet and unassuming place to vacation and recharge in the summer months.

Camp Marbury was a summer camp for girls on Lake Champlain in Ferrisburgh, Vermont. Founded in 1921, the family-run camp operated until 1942, when it closed due to logistical difficulties associated with World War II. The camp property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Button Bay State Park is a 253-acre state park in Ferrisburgh, Vermont on the shore of Lake Champlain.Activities includes boating, swimming, camping, fishing, hiking, picnicking, wildlife watching, water sports and winter sports.Facilities include a swimming pool with lifeguards, canoe and kayak rentals, a large picnic shelter and picnic areas, a play area, 73 campsites including 13 lean-tos and 4 cabins, flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station.The park includes the Button Point Natural Area, a 14-acre site including the 2-acre Button Island and an 8-acre peninsula with a mature forest stand. The park's nature center is located here, and park rangers offer interpretive programs including night hikes, campfire programs, amphibian explorations, and nature crafts and games.

West Charlotte (shown as Charlotte on federal topographic maps) is an unincorporated village and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Charlotte, Chittenden County, Vermont, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. The CDP is in southwestern Chittenden County, in the western part of the town of Charlotte. U.S. Route 7 runs along the east side of the CDP, leading north 12 miles (19 km) to Burlington and south 10 miles (16 km) to Vergennes. Ferry Road passes through the center of the village, leading west to the Charlotte-Essex Ferry, crossing Lake Champlain to Essex, New York.

Charlotte is a town in Chittenden County, Vermont, United States. The town was named for Queen Charlotte, though unlike Charlotte, North Carolina, Charlottesville, Virginia, and other cities and towns that bear her name, the town's name is pronounced with the accent on the second syllable. The population of the town was 3,912 at the 2020 census.

The steamboat Oakes Ames was built in 1868 by the Napoleon B Proctor Shipyard in Burlington, Vermont for the Rutland Railroad. The 244-foot paddle wheeler was designed to ferry railroad cars from Burlington across Lake Champlain to Plattsburgh, New York. She was named after one of the railroad's directors' Oakes Ames.She successfully trialed on 19 August 1868 and her maiden excursion ran the next day to Willsboro Bay, Plattsburg. Mr. Ames went onward to Montreal for a review of the railroad's assets. In 1874, the ship was renamed and repurposed for passenger service as the Champlain II. The following year, on July 16, 1875, the ship was wrecked when it ran aground after drifting off course while being guided by a pilot under the influence of morphine. A salvage operation shortly afterwards removed much of the superstructure, leaving about a third of the wreck in place.The site is now an archaeological site located in Lake Champlain near Westport in Essex County, New York. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Button Bay, previously known as Button Mould Bay or Buttonmold Bay, is an area of shallow water on the east shore of Lake Champlain. It is located in the town of Ferrisburgh (near Vergennes), in Addison County. It is situated between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains in New York. The Bay's name is from the clay concretions found on its shores which looked either like actual clay buttons or the moulds used in button making.Button Bay State Park has been a state park since 1964.
