Oullins

Oullins-Pierre-Bénite (French pronunciation: [ulɛ̃ pjɛʁ benit]) is a commune in the Metropolis of Lyon in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in eastern France. It was established on 1 January 2024, with the merger of the communes of Oullins and Pierre-Bénite. It is a suburb of the city of Lyon, and is adjacent to it on the southwest.

The Aquarium de Lyon is a public aquarium located in the La Mulatière district of the city of Lyon, France, near the confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers in the Rhône department. Like the Aqualand parks elsewhere in Europe, it belongs to the Spanish group Aspro-Ocio.Created by Maurice Chichportiche and opened in October 2002, the aquarium has 39 tanks with a total of more than 1,000,000 litres (220,000 imp gal; 260,000 US gal) of water, showing visitors 3,000 fish and other aquatic animals representing 300 species.The largest aquarium is called "Fosse Aux Requins". It contains a false shipwreck in polyurethane resin (the iron would have rusted and the rust is toxic to fishes). Its glass is 23 centimetres thick to resist the water pressure.

International School of Lyon (ISL) is an English-language international school in Sainte Foy-Lès-Lyon, France, near Lyon. The school serves preschool (beginning at age 3) through senior high school. It was established in March 2004.

The Saône ( SOHN, French: [son]; Arpitan: Sona; Latin: Arar) is a river in eastern France. It is a right tributary of the Rhône, rising at Vioménil in the Vosges department and joining the Rhône in Lyon, at the southern end of the Presqu'île. The name Saône derives from that of the Gallic river goddess Souconna, which has also been connected with a local Celtic tribe, the Sequanes. Monastic copyists progressively transformed Souconna to Saoconna, which ultimately gave rise to Saône. The other recorded ancient names for the river were Brigoulus and Arar.

Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃t fwa lɛ ljɔ̃] (listen), literally Sainte-Foy near Lyon) is a commune in the Metropolis of Lyon in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in eastern France.

Parc Henry-Chabert, previously Parc de Gerland (pronounced [paʁk də ʒəʁlɑ̃nd]) and also called Parc du Confluent, is a large greenspace in Lyon situated on a former industrial site in the south of the city near the confluence of the Rhône and the Saone. Construction began in 1996, and the park was developed over an area of 80 hectares (200 acres). The initial two phases of construction concluded in 2000 and 2006, and were carried out by landscape architect Michel Corajoud. The project was managed by Grand Lyon. The park was renamed to Parc Henry-Chabert on 19 December 2020.The park includes several playgrounds, a skatepark and a botanical garden. It is situated next to the Stade de Gerland, and was used during the French archery championship finals in 2007 and 2012.

The Cité Scolaire Internationale de Lyon (CSI), also known as the Lycée International de Lyon or Lycée de Gerland, is an international school located near the confluence of the Rhône and the Saône in the city of Lyon, France. It provides education combining regular French classes with classes in the second language of the student. The international sections include English, Italian, Spanish, Polish, German, Portuguese, Chinese, Arabic and Japanese. The classes are taught from primary level all the way up to the high school diploma, the Baccalaureat, which is available with the International Option (OIB, or "Option Internationale du Baccalauréat"). There are 1900 students in the school, from primary to high school; over 40 nationalities are represented. As in all French lycées, students in the last two years ("première" and "terminale") can choose between an "L" section (literary), an "ES" section (economy and society) and an "S" section (scientific). International students are also able to prepare for the OIB, and take classes in literature, history and geography in their second language. The school constantly rates top in the region, i.e. in 2005, 97% of the graduating students received their baccalaureate, whereas the "2004-2005 success rate for the baccalauréat in mainland France was 79.7%" (see baccalauréat article). The building is located on the Rhône riverside, and is a novelty in terms of architecture. After 15 years of hardship with the famous skyroof, a brand new one has been set in as of September 2007.

Pierre-Bénite (French pronunciation: [pjɛʁ benit] (listen); Arpitan: Piérra-Benête) is a commune in the Metropolis of Lyon in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in eastern France.

The Centre Tola Vologe was the training center and club headquarters of French football club Olympique Lyonnais. It is located in the city of Lyon, not far from the Stade de Gerland. The facility is named after Anatole Vologe, commonly called Tola Vologe, who was a Lyon sportsmen and was murdered by the Gestapo during World War II. The facility was known for its high-level training and several prominent players have passed through the youth training center. These include Karim Benzema, Hatem Ben Arfa, Sidney Govou, Ludovic Giuly and Loïc Rémy. The center was home to Olympique Lyonnais from 1961 to 2016, when the club moved to the newly built Groupama Stadium in Décines-Charpieu and its nearby training complex. The Youth Academy also moved on to a new complex in the town of Meyzieu.

The Musée des Confluences is a science centre and anthropology museum which opened on 20 December 2014 in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon, (Rhône), France. It is located at the southern tip of the Presqu'île at the confluence of the Rhône and the Saône, adjacent to Autoroute A7, and comprises part of a larger redevelopment project of the Confluence quarter of Lyon. The deconstructivist architectural design, said to resemble a floating crystal cloud of stainless steel and glass, was created by the Austrian firm Coop Himmelb(l)au.

Palais des Sports de Gerland is an indoor sporting arena located in Lyon, France. The seating capacity of the arena is 5,910 people.

La Mulatière (French pronunciation: ​[la mylatjɛʁ]) is a commune in the Metropolis of Lyon in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in eastern France. The city is known, among other things, for its Aquarium du Grand Lyon.
