Springfield Downtown Historic District

Springfield is a town in Windsor County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 9,062.

The Park Street School is a historic school building at 60 Park Street in Springfield, Vermont.Built in 1895 and enlarged in 1929, it was the town's first high school to be built after the consolidation of district schools began. It served as a high school until 1968. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020. The building now houses a worker training organization and residences.

Trout River Brewing is a brewery that was originally located in Lyndonville, Vermont, US. It began production in July 1996, and closed in November 2014.In November 2014, the brewery was moved to Springfield, Vermont by its current owners. Beer distribution started again in April 2016.

The Hartness House is a historic house at 30 Orchard Street in Springfield, Vermont. Built in 1904, it is one Vermont's relatively small number of high-style Shingle style houses. It was built for James Hartness, owner of a local machine factory and later Governor of Vermont. The house, now a small hotel, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Springfield is a census-designated place (CDP) comprising the main settlement within the town of Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont, United States. The population of the CDP was 3,979 at the 2010 census, compared with 9,373 for the town as a whole.

The Southview Housing Historic District encompasses a collection of World War II-era residences on Stanley Road in Springfield, Vermont. They were built in 1942 to provided housing for workers producing militarily important materials, and have survived with remarkably little alteration since then. They were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

WCFR is an AM radio station licensed to Springfield, Vermont. It broadcasts hits from the 1980s and ’90s with 5,000 watts during the day. Programming is also simulcast on translator W293BH, 106.5 FM. The station carries Boston Red Sox baseball from the Red Sox Radio Network, & the Boston Bruins Radio Network.

Springfield High School (SHS) is a public high school in the town of Springfield in southern Vermont, United States. It is part of the Springfield School District and serves students from Springfield and neighboring Weathersfield. SHS is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

River Valley Technical Center is a career and technical school in Springfield, Vermont, USA. It offers an education that prepares students to be career- and college-ready. Students learn technical skills in their program areas and employability skills that prepare them for the workplace. Academic skills including mathematics, reading and writing, science and social studies are taught as part of the program area curriculum. Many of the programs offer post-secondary credit, industry-recognized credentials and leadership opportunities. The center enrolls students from Bellows Falls Union High School, Black River High School, Compass School, Green Mountain Union High School, Fall Mountain Regional High School and Springfield High School. It also enrolls homeschooled students, recent high school graduates and students from private schools. Until the 2007-2008 school year, the center was under the jurisdiction of the Springfield School District, until all towns which send students to the center voted to separate from the Springfield School District and fall under the purview of a newly created district.

The Windsor-1-2 Representative District is a two-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Windsor-1-2 District includes that part of the Windsor County town of Springfield not included in Windsor-1-1. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The two member Windsor-1-2 District had a population of 8,956 in that same census, 10.32% above the state average.

Cumberland County, New York was a county in the Province of New York that became part of the state of Vermont. It was divided out of Albany County in New York in 1766, but eventually became a part of Vermont in 1777. At that time, Vermont was holding itself out as the Republic of Vermont and was not admitted to the Union until 1791. Located south of Gloucester County and east of Charlotte County (Anderson, p. 67 [1]), incorporated from Albany County (see map from 1777 Charlotte County, Province of New York), Cumberland County was fused with Gloucester County, New York to become Cumberland County, Vermont, which, along with Bennington County, comprised the only two counties in that state. The Vermont Cumberland County was abolished by being partitioned into several new counties in Vermont and one in New Hampshire.

The Gould's Mill Bridge is a historic Baltimore through truss bridge, carrying Paddock Street across the Black River in Springfield, Vermont. The bridge was built by the Boston Bridge Works Company in 1929 after major flooding in 1927, and is one of the state's few examples of a Baltimore truss. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.
