Winchfield is a small village in the Hart District of Hampshire in the South-East of England. It is situated 1 mile (1.6 km) south-west of Hartley Wintney, 8 miles (13 km) east of Basingstoke, 2 miles (3.2 km) north-east of Odiham and 38 miles (61 km) west of London. It is connected to London Waterloo and Basingstoke by the South West Main Line. Winchfield consists of a recently rebuilt village hall (in 1998), a church, a 17th century inn called the Winchfield Inn and a combination of old residential properties and new ones. In the 2011 census Winchfield parish had a population of 664. The population is scattered across this wide parish, which includes Potbridge, settlement around Winchfield church, Winchfield Hurst and Shapley Heath.

Calthorpe Park School is one of two secondary schools in Fleet, Hampshire, England. for pupils aged 11–16. The school was awarded specialist status as a Maths and Computing College in 2005. In the 2013 OFSTED report the school received an overall effectiveness of 'good'.A major capital scheme by Hampshire County Council to extend the school to accommodate more pupils was completed in 2004. It then underwent another scheme in 2008–9 to extend the school further. The school underwent another expansion project in 2014–2015.

The parish in 1851 had an area of 7,354 acres with 50 acres covered by water. The nearest railway station is at Hook, on the South West main line. The village had its own hundred in the nineteenth century, named The Hundred of Odiham. The village is situated slightly south of the M3 motorway and approximately midway between the north Hampshire towns of Fleet and Basingstoke, some 37 miles (59.5 km) north of Southampton and 43 miles (69 km) southwest of London. RAF Odiham, home of the Royal Air Force's Chinook heavy lift helicopter fleet, lies to the south of the village.
