Odiham Down

Odiham ( or ) is a large historic village and civil parish in the Hart district of Hampshire, England. It is twinned with Sourdeval in the Manche Department of France. The 2011 population was 4,406. The parish in 1851 had an area of 7,354 acres with 50 acres covered by water. The nearest railway station is at Hook, on the South West main line. The village had its own hundred in the nineteenth century, named The Hundred of Odiham. The village is situated slightly south of the M3 motorway and approximately midway between the north Hampshire towns of Fleet and Basingstoke, some 37 miles (59.5 km) north of Southampton and 43 miles (69 km) southwest of London. RAF Odiham, home of the Royal Air Force's Chinook heavy lift helicopter fleet, lies to the south of the village.

All Saints Church is an Anglican church in the village of Odiham, Hampshire. It is situated near to Odiham's high street, 9.5 miles (15.2 km) away from Basingstoke. English Heritage has designated the church as a Grade I listed building.

Royal Air Force Odiham or more simply RAF Odiham (IATA: ODH, ICAO: EGVO) is a Royal Air Force station situated a little to the south of the village of Odiham in Hampshire, England. It is the home of the Royal Air Force's heavy lift helicopter, the Boeing Chinook, and of the King's Helicopter Flight (TKHF) . Its current station commander is Group Captain Donal McGurk.

Robert May's School is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in the village of Odiham, Hampshire, England. All children in year 6 whose families live in the catchment area, and who attend named feeder schools in the area are eligible for a place at the school in year 7. The school was founded in 1694 with donations from the will of Robert May, a local man, and other benefactors who contributed to what is now the Odiham Consolidated Charities.

North Warnborough is a village in the Hart district of Hampshire, England. It is in the civil parish of Odiham. It is located less than 2 miles (3.2 km) south of the town of Hook, on the opposite side of the M3 motorway, and just north-west of the village of Odiham. The Basingstoke Canal passes through the village, and the River Whitewater flows to the north. Today, North Warnborough consists of a conservation area, bounded by Mill Corner in the north and The Street in the south, lying to each side of the B3349 Reading to Alton road. Most of the village's 40 listed buildings lie within the conservation area. There are also later housing developments with post-war housing beyond the southern boundary of the conservation area to the Odiham boundary and also in the Old Orchard. A detailed character appraisal and management plan was prepared and published by Hart District Council in 2009. Held by King Harold before the Norman invasion of 1066, North Warnborough and Odiham had become a royal burgh by 1086. Half-way between Winchester and Windsor, the Saxon kings maintained a palace and lodgings in Odiham. By 1207 work had begun on Odiham Castle (known locally as King John's castle) in 20 acres (81,000 m2) of meadowland between North Warnborough and Greywell, the ruins of which stand by the canal, itself a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a unique conservation area. Near the canal lies North Warnborough Green, another SSSI, including a ford where children often swim during the summer months. The village once boasted two mills and seven pubs. Some of the pubs were converted into private homes, but The Lord Derby and The Anchor still remain. The Swan was destroyed by fire in September 2010 and the Jolly Miller is now pending change of use following a short period as 'The Chilli Pad', Thai restaurant. The Millhouse is now a popular family restaurant.

Andwell Brewing Company was started by Adam Komrower in 2008, and was based at Lodge Farm behind Newlyns farmshop in North Warnborough, Hampshire, England. The brewery's beer is supplied to pubs within a 30-mile radius of the brewery, and to farmshops, off-licences and beer festivals. The brewery brewed its first beer, Resolute Bitter, on 10 October 2008. The 10BBL brewhouse plant was previously used at Copper Dragon Brewery.In 2011 the brewery relocated to the hamlet of Andwell from where the brewery takes its name. The brewery now has a shop, and offers tours.

Warnborough Green is a village in the civil parish of Odiham in Hampshire, England. It lies approximately 1 mile (1.75 km) north-east from Odiham.

Warnborough Green is a 4.4-hectare (11-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in North Warnborough in Hampshire. It is owned and managed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.This site consists of two species-rich wet meadows on either side of the River Whitewater. There are thirteen species of sedge, such as distant, flea and brown sedge. Invertebrates include two nationally rare flies, the soldier fly Stratiomys potamida and the hoverfly Xylota abiens.

Odiham Castle (also known locally as King John's Castle) is a ruined castle situated near Odiham in Hampshire, United Kingdom. It is one of only three fortresses built by King John during his reign. The site was possibly chosen by King John because he had visited the area in 1204 and it lay halfway between Windsor and Winchester.

Long Sutton is a small village and civil parish in the Hart district of Hampshire, England. The village lies about 3 miles (4.8 km) south of the town of Odiham. Neighbouring villages include Well, South Warnborough and Upton Grey. The village includes picturesque brick and half-timbered cottages and a farmhouse dating from Tudor times. All Saints Church is the local church. Hydegate House was built in about 1561 by the Terry Family. In 1,200 acres (4.9 km2) of farmland stands Lord Wandsworth College, a Neo-Georgian structure built in 1915, founded as a boarding school for boys who have lost a parent. The line of the "Harrow Way," one of the oldest roads in England, runs through the village.

North Hampshire is a planned unitary authority area in Hampshire, England, as part of ongoing local government reform. It will be by formed by a merger of the existing districts of Basingstoke and Deane, Hart, and Rushmoor, and will include the towns of Basingstoke, Fleet, Aldershot, and Farnborough. The first councillors will be elected in the 2027 North Hampshire Council election in May 2027, and the new authority will assume full powers in April 2028. The district will border West Surrey to the east; Mid Hampshire to the south and west; West Berkshire, Wokingham and Bracknell Forest to the north.
