Oaklandon Historic District is a national historic district located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It encompasses 38 contributing buildings in the mid-19th century settlement of Oaklandon. The district developed between about 1908 and 1941, and includes representative examples of Classical Revival, Late Gothic Revival, and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. Notable buildings include the Oaklandon Christian Church (1908), Oaklandon Universalist Church (1921), and Dr. Charles J. Kneer Residence (1923).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

It was created in 1929 by damming Indian Creek, a tributary to Fall Creek. Prior to the creation of Geist Reservoir in 1943 and Eagle Creek Reservoir in 1967, Indian Lake was the largest body of water in Marion County.

It covers an area of 48 square miles (120 km2) and in 2010 had a student enrollment just under 16,000.It includes two high schools, two middle schools, eleven elementary schools, four kindergarten centers, and one alternative school for at-risk students of middle-school and high-school age. It also operates a Diploma Recovery Program for adults (over 18) and a Community Education Program.The district includes eight National Blue Ribbon Schools, which have achieve a 97% graduation rate and over 75% progression to post-secondary education.

Indian Creek is a stream in Marion County, Indiana, in the United States. It is a tributary of Fall Creek. Indian Creek was so named from the fact that Native Americans used the area as a camping ground.A 60-acre (24 ha) reservoir named Indian Lake was created by the construction of a dam on the creek in 1929.

WNDX (93.9 FM) is a commercial radio station, licensed to Lawrence, Indiana, and serving the Indianapolis metropolitan area. It is owned by Cumulus Media and airs a mainstream rock radio format, using the moniker 93-9X. The studios and offices are located on North Shadeland Avenue on the east side of Indianapolis. WNDX's transmitter is located off 38th Street, also on the east side of Indianapolis. It is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission to broadcast in the HD (hybrid) format.

Fort Benjamin Harrison was a U.S. Army post located in suburban Lawrence Township, Marion County, Indiana, northeast of Indianapolis, between 1906 and 1991. It is named for the 23rd United States president, Benjamin Harrison.

The Hindu Temple of Central Indiana is a Hindu temple in Indianapolis, Indiana. Opened in 2006, it is the oldest Hindu temple in Indiana. Local public TV station WFYI has called it "a breathtaking new monument - impressive in both scope and design, as well as a testament to the growing multiculturalism of the region." The Indianapolis Star says it is "an iconic structure that pays homage to various holy shrines across India."

Fort Harrison Terminal Station, also known as Fort Harrison Post Office, is a historic train station located at Fort Benjamin Harrison in suburban Lawrence Township, Marion County, Indiana, northeast of Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1908, and is a one-story, brick building with Prairie School and Bungalow / American Craftsman style design elements. It has a low, double pitched hipped roof sheathed in metal. It served as a terminal for the interurban Union Traction Company until 1941, after which it housed a U.S. Post Office.: 2–3  It has been converted into a Mexican restaurant. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Geist Reservoir is a reservoir in the northeastern part of metropolitan Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It was constructed in 1943 by damming Fall Creek to provide water for Indianapolis. Upon completion, Geist Reservoir was the second-largest man-made lake in Indiana, providing approximately 6,900,000,000 US gallons (2.6×1010 L; 5.7×109 imp gal) of water. The reservoir is located primarily in the northeast corner of Indianapolis and the southeast corner of Fishers, but small parts reach into the nearby towns of Lawrence, Fortville, and McCordsville.
