Kharar Assembly constituency

Kharar is a town and a municipal council in Mohali district in the state of Punjab, India. It is nearby Mohali city. Kharar is located at 30.74°N 76.65°E / 30.74; 76.65 and has an average elevation of 309 metres (1,014 feet). The area of Kharar is part of the "Greater Mohali" region.

Guru Gobind Singh College of Modern Technology is a private college located at Kharar, Punjab, India. The college curriculum focuses on undergraduate and postgraduate engineering and business management studies. The college is privately supported and is affiliated to the Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. It is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and the government of Punjab. The college is promoted by Shri Guru Gobind Singh Foundation, Mohali.

Rayat-Bahra University (RBU) is an Indian private university located in Mohali, Punjab. The university was established in 2014 under The Rayat-Bahra University Act, 2014 by Rayat Bahra Group. The incumbent vice chancellor of RBU is Prof. (Dr.) Parvinder Singh.

Tewar, (Tiaur or Teuris) is a village in the Mohali District (previously Rupnagar District) of the state of Punjab, India. According to the 2011 Census, the population of the village is about 4500. The village is situated about 7–8 kilometers east on Kharar-Kurali stretch of NH 21. The village is said to be most developed and bigger than other villages in the area. Tewar is the market hub among the neighboring villages' viz. Radiala, Jakar Majra, Bhajauli, Ghataur, Palheri, Rurkee kham, Abheypur etc. Its market comprises medical stores, apparel stores, electronic stores, electrical stores and general stores. The village has one government sr sec school and 3 private schools, and also one computer center. The village has one gramin bank, post office and a verka milk dairy. The village has rich religious places: 1 historical gurudwara sahib named GURUDWARA BHANDARA SAHIB which has religious beliefs that Guru Gobind Singh ji visited that place where gurudwara sahib is built. The village has 2 more gurudwara and 3 Hindu temples and a mosque.

The Fateh Burj (English: The Victory Tower; Punjabi: ਫਤਿਹ ਬੁਰਜ), a prominent tourist site in Punjab and the tallest tower in India, is situated in the historical village of Chappar Chiri in the SAS Nagar district (Mohali district) of Punjab state. It was completed in 2011. The 328 feet (100 m) tower is dedicated to establishment of the Sikh Misls in a large part of Punjab in 1711. It is situated in Banda Singh Bahadur Road. It is situated just outside Mohali, a 140kilometres from Amritsar and 20 km from Sirhind. It was here that Banda Singh Bahadur, one of the most respected and great Sikh warriors, won a decisive battle against Wazir Khan, commander of the Mughal army.

Chapar Chiri (Punjabi: ਚੱਪੜ ਚਿੜੀ) is a small village located in the Mohali district of Punjab, India. It is near Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar city and is 14 km west of Chandigarh. The village is famous due to Fateh Burj (English: The Victory Tower; Punjabi: ਫਤਿਹ ਬੁਰਜ) is the tallest victory tower (minar) in the country. The 420 ft tower is dedicated to the establishment of Sikh rule in India in 1710. It is also known as Baba Banda Singh Bahadur War Memorial. It was here that Banda Singh Bahadur, one of the most respected Sikh warriors, won a decisive battle against Wazir Khan, commander of the Mughal army.[3]

Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Inter State Bus Terminus (Punjabi: ਬਾਬਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਇੰਟਰ ਸਟੇਟ ਬੱਸ ਟਰਮਿਨਸ) or Mohali Bus Stand (Punjabi: ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਬਸ ਅੱਡਾ) is an India's first air conditioned bus station located in the sector 56-57 (Phase VI) of Mohali city. It was constructed at a cost of ₹700 crore (US$88 million) and opened to public on 16 December 2016. It will have 1844 Punjab Roadways buses with 1810 ordinary and 34 super integral coach AC buses.

Sahauran ਸਹੌੜਾਂ is a village in Mohali district, Punjab, India, located on NH 205. The village falls under tehsil Kharar, and is about 23 km (14 mi) from Chandigarh. The neighbouring towns of village sahauran are Kurali (5 km (3.1 mi)), Kharar (5 km (3.1 mi)), Ropar (20 km (12 mi)). The nearest airport is Chandigarh International Airport which is 28 km (17 mi) away from village. The population is about 5000.

Mohali, officially known as Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, is a planned city in the Mohali district in Punjab, India, which is an administrative and a commercial hub lying south-west of Chandigarh. It is the headquarters of the Mohali district and one of the six Municipal Corporations of the State. It was officially named after Sahibzada Ajit Singh, the eldest son of Guru Gobind Singh. Mohali has developed rapidly as an IT hub of the state of Punjab, and has thus grown in importance. The Government of Punjab has initiated significant infrastructure and recreation projects in attempts to increase the standard of living in Mohali. Roads have been built to create networks between Mohali and Chandigarh International Airport to boost its international connectivity.Mohali was earlier a part of the Rupnagar district and was carved out and made a part of a separate district in 2006.
