Westlake High School (Georgia)

The Wolf Creek Shooting Complex, now known as the Tom Lowe Shooting Grounds, is a shooting range located southwest of Atlanta, Georgia, United States, in Fulton County. During the 1996 Summer Olympics, it hosted the shooting event. Until 2002, it was also often used for ISSF World Cup competitions in rifle and pistol events, although such competitions, when held in the United States, have now reverted to being carried out at Fort Benning. The venue is now owned by the Parks & Recreation Department of Fulton County. It has 20 trap and skeet shooting combination fields, and nine lighted areas. The facility has been host to several NSSA State and Zone skeet tournaments. The range is also home to recreational shooting leagues such as the Atlanta Skeet and Trap League.

Sweetwater Creek is a 45.6-mile-long (73.4 km) stream in the U.S. state of Georgia, west of Atlanta. It begins in southwestern Paulding County, flowing generally eastward into southwestern Cobb County, then turning south into eastern Douglas County. It is a tributary of the Chattahoochee River, and near its end it is the centerpiece of Sweetwater Creek State Park. Sweetwater Creek was named after AmaKanasta (Sweet Water), a Cherokee chieftain.Since 1904 there has been a stream gauge near Austell (actually in Lithia Springs), at latitude 33°46'22"N, longitude 84°36'53"W. The watershed area above this point is 246 square miles (640 km2). It is 857 feet (261 m) above mean sea level. The flood stage at this point is 10.0 feet (3.0 m). The identifier for this gauge is AUSG1. Major flooding occurred here in July 2005, after Hurricane Dennis dumped enormous amounts of rain across the Sweetwater Creek watershed, just after it had been soaked by Hurricane Cindy a few days before. The creek rose to one of its highest levels ever, flooding dozens of homes well beyond what was considered the 100-year flood plain. About 15 inches (380 mm) of rain fell at the gauge before it was ruined by the flood. In late September 2009, the worst flooding ever occurred on the creek, after days of heavy rain. New records were set, and many roads were left underwater by it, including Interstate 20, which was closed west of I-285 for nearly three days. The USGS stated that it was greater than a 500-year flood (it does not try to make any greater estimates). The National Weather Service said the chances of having more than 10 inches (25 cm) of rain in a 24-hour period were less than 0.01% per year, making it a 10,000-year event.The previous record flood was 20 feet (6.1 m) in July 1916. Base flow is around 2.7 feet (0.82 m).

The Cascade Mansion is the name of an antebellum home built in south west Atlanta, Georgia, south of the Sandtown (Now Cascade Road) built by Dr. William Poole and Elizabeth Gilbert Poole, son in law of the first physician Dr. William Gilbert in Fulton County, Georgia. The home was begun in construction in 1860 and was incorrectly identified by soldiers of the US XXIII Army Corps during the siege of Atlanta as the "Head House." The home served briefly as the Headquarters of Confederate Major General William B. Bate, attached to S.D Lee's Corps during the Battle of Utoy Creek, August 1–7, 1864. The home and grounds served as a US Army Hospital during the Siege of Atlanta for the XXIII and later XIV Corps in August 1864. The home is of the antebellum style on the former East Point Road (now Dodson Drive SW) in Atlanta. The interior was finished in the Victorian style in 1869–70. The property was purchased by Ms. Dixie Stevens proponent of Arts in Atlanta and the "Save the Fox Theater" and historical preservation in Atlanta.

Midwest Cascade is an Affluent predominantly African American neighborhood. neighborhood of Atlanta at the city's far west edge. Together with the tiny neighborhood of Regency Trace it forms NPU Q, the city's fastest growing NPU from 2000 to 2010.

Utoy Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is a tributary to the Chattahoochee River. Utoy Creek most likely was named for the Utoy Indians. The Battle of Utoy Creek was fought here in 1864.

Ben Hill Park is a 13.66-acre (55,300 m2) community park in the Ben Hill neighborhood of southwest Atlanta, Georgia.It includes one recreation center, one covered basketball court, two tennis courts, and one multipurpose baseball/football field. The recreation center was later renamed to William Walker Recreation Center, in honor of the longtime director, William Walker.

Ben Hill United Methodist Church is a United Methodist Church in the predominantly Black neighborhood of Ben Hill, Atlanta, in the US state of Georgia. It started in 1853 in a log cabin and was called "Wesley Chapel". The congregation moved to Ben Hill in 1926, and when in the 1960s that neighborhood become mostly Black, the church chose to accept that and integrate. By 1974 the church had become predominantly Black, with Cornelius Henderson as its first Black pastor, and the church grew--from 400 members in 1974 to 4,000 in 1986. Under his successor, Walter Kimbrough Sr., that membership increased to 6,000 by 1989, making Ben Hill UMC "reportedly the largest African American congregation of the United Methodist Church". Its "spiritual awakening and phenomenal numerical growth" are ascribed to its incorporation of "African traditions of call and response" and a neo-Pentecostal style.

Laurus Technical Institute was an American for-profit technical college with three locations in Georgia. Founded in 1986 as ETI Careers Institute, the school offered travel and tourism programs. It became accredited in 1991. In 2007, the school changed its name to Laurus Technical Institute and began offering programs in the allied health and allied trade programs. CEO Terry Hess closed the school without notice in March 2015.

Carver College is a private Bible college located in Atlanta, Georgia. It was established in 1943 as the Carver Bible Institute. The institute was founded by Solomon Randolph, a Black pastor in Atlanta, and Grace and Talmage Payne, graduates of the Moody Bible Institute. It was named after the agricultural scientist George Washington Carver. The campus underwent major renovations in 1997, including remodeling the administration building, the gymnasium and establishing a new bookstore for the campus. The college received full accreditation from the Association for Biblical Higher Education in 2006. In 2009, the Carver Bible College was renamed Carver College.As of 2017, Carver had a total enrollment of 60 students. The undergraduate tuition was approximately $12,000. It offers undergraduate programs in Business Administration, Psychology, and Biblical Studies.Carver's athletics teams are known as the Cougars and compete in the National Christian College Athletic Association. The athletic program was established in 1998.

Camp Creek is a 14.1-mile-long (22.7 km) tributary of the Chattahoochee River in Fulton County, Georgia. Rising in College Park, the creek flows west to join the Chattahoochee northeast of Campbellton.

Superman: Ultimate Flight is the name of three flying roller coasters currently operating at three Six Flags amusement parks in the United States, those being Six Flags Over Georgia, Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags Great America. Each of these steel coasters were designed and built by Swiss manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard and opened in 2002 and 2003. Since 2003, Six Flags has installed Superman: Ultimate Flight in three of their parks. Themed to the popular comic book character, Superman: Ultimate Flight simulates flying by positioning its passengers parallel to the track, supported by harnesses and facing the ground through most of the ride. In the station, riders board the train sitting down. After the train is locked and checked, the trains are raised into the flying position. After the ride, the seats are lowered back into the sitting position for the next round of riders.

Great American Scream Machine (GASM) is a wooden roller coaster located at Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell, Georgia, United States. Manufactured by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters, the ride opened in 1973 as the tallest, longest, and fastest roller coaster in the world. Often shortened to GASM, the 105-foot-tall (32 m) ride reaches a maximum speed of 57 mph (92 km/h). At the time of opening, early riders were given a "Red Badge of Courage" button for riding the coaster. On May 21, 2017, Great American Scream Machine received an ACE landmark designation from American Coaster Enthusiasts, recognized for becoming the first wooden coaster built by Six Flags and for being well maintained.
