Österhaninge (Swedish pronunciation: [œstɛrˈhânːɪŋɛ]) is an urban area located within Haninge Municipality in Stockholm County, Sweden. It is the birthplace of former Prime Minister of Sweden Fredrik Reinfeldt, black metal frontman and vocalist Dead (Per Yngve Ohlin) hockey player Kristian Huselius.

The Hårsfjärden, or Horsfjärden (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈhɔ̂ʂːˌfjæːɖɛn]), is a fjard off the Baltic Sea near Stockholm, Sweden. About 20 kilometres (12 mi) long, it has surface area of 61.5 square kilometres (23.7 sq mi). It is the location of three Swedish naval bases: Märsgarn, Muskö, and Berga. It was the location of the Hårsfjärden incident, during October 1–13, 1982, in which Swedish forces appeared to have trapped a foreign submarine, believed to be Soviet, but the submarine escaped.Three Swedish destroyers were sunk in the Hårsfjärden in an explosion on 17 September 1941, during World War II. The three destroyers sunk at a naval base on the fjord were Göteborg, Klas Horn and Klas Uggla. Göteborg and Klas Horn were later salvaged and returned to service, while Klas Uggla was scrapped.

Berga Naval Base (Swedish: Berga örlogsbas) is a naval base of the Swedish Navy located in the Hårsfjärden fjard near Berga, Haninge Municipality. Today it is the home of the 4th Naval Warfare Flotilla, the 1st Marine Regiment and Home Guard unit Södertörn Group (Södertörnsgruppen).

Berga is partly an estate and partly an associated castle in Västerhaninge socken in Haninge Municipality, in Södertörn in Södermanland and in Stockholm County, Sweden.

Brandbergen is a suburb in Haninge Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden. It is a residential area located about 18 km (11 mi) south of Stockholm. As of September 2017, the population is estimated to be around 10,000.Most of the buildings are dense apartment blocks that were built during the 1960s and 1970s. Some of the nearby amenities include supermarkets, restaurants, a post office, a shopping center, and Tyresta National Park. The commute to central Stockholm is generally facilitated via bus and commuter rail services, with options for walking, biking, and driving.

The Brandbergen Mosque, officially the Islamic Association in Brandbergen was a mosque located in an apartment in Brandbergen, Haninge Municipality, south of Stockholm, Sweden. In the 1990s the mosque supported the extremist Armed Islamic Group of Algeria during the Algerian Civil War. According to the Jamestown Foundation, the mosque "has been repeatedly linked to Salafist-Jihadist terrorism since the early 1990s, when it served as a propaganda hub for the Algerian Groupe Islamique Armé (GIA)."In 2004 an Arabic-language manual, which carried the logo and address of the Brandbergen Mosque, was spread on the internet. The manual described the construction of simple chemical weapons, including how to build a chemical munition from an ordinary artillery round. On December 7, 2006, the Swedish citizen Mohamed Moumou, who is described by the United States Department of the Treasury as an "uncontested leader of an extremist group centered around the Brandbergen Mosque in Stockholm", was put on the United Nations Security Council Committee 1267 list of foreign terrorists.The mosque closed in 2008.

Södermanland Runic Inscription 270 or Sö 270 is the Rundata catalog number for a Viking Age memorial runic inscription. It is located in Tyresta National Park, Tyresta, which is about two kilometers east of Brandbergen, Stockholm County, Sweden, which is in the historic province of Södermanland.

Jordbro is a suburban locality situated in Haninge Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden with 10,291 inhabitants in 2010.The suburb is separated in two by the Stockholm commuter rail. Route 73 (Nynäsvägen), passes just east of Jordbro and connects Stockholm and Nynäshamn. East of the railway lies a housing area built as part of the Million Programme, in the 1960s and 1970s. The housing area is made up of blocks of flats, with single family homes to the north and to the south. To the west of the housing area and the railway lies a relatively large industrial area, containing the main offices and production plant of The Coca-Cola Company in Sweden. Dagab, Lagena, Osram and Åhlens also have distribution warehouses in the industrial area. Just to the south, between Jordbro and Västerhaninge is Jordbro Grave Field, a burial ground, thought to have been used somewhere between 500 BC and 500 CE. Jordbro has three schools, Kvarnbäcksskolan, Höglundaskolan and Fredsduvan, which are lower primary schools with preschools. Starting in 1973, filmmaker Rainer Hartleb has made a series of documentaries focusing on the lives of a number of Jordbro residents, collectively known as the Jordbro suite.

Vendelsömalm is part of Metropolitan Stockholm, located in the Haninge Municipality (kommun) in Stockholm County in eastern Sweden. As of 2020 it has a population of 7,192. Geographically, the urban area is incorporated into Stockholm urban area.

Haninge Municipality (Haninge kommun) is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden. Its seat is located in Handen, a part of the Stockholm urban area. Haninge Municipality was formed in 1971 when Västerhaninge and Österhaninge were united. The municipal coat of arms depicts a capercaillie from which the name Haninge is believed to have been derived (the German word hahn means capercaillie), while the anchor symbolizes the naval base in the municipality. The German word usage is supposedly from the old German Hansa traders who operated in the area.
