Rutland County is a county located in the U.S. state of Vermont. As of the 2020 census, the population was 60,572, making it the second-most populous county in Vermont. Its county seat and most populous municipality is the city of Rutland.

The Rutland-1-2 Representative District is a two-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Rutland-1-2 District includes all of the Rutland County towns of Clarendon, Proctor, and West Rutland, and the portion of the town of Ira not included in Rutland-1-1. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The two member Rutland-1-2 District had a population of 7,559 in that same census, 6.89% below the state average.

Clementwood is a historic estate in Rutland, Vermont, United States. It is now a part of the campus of the College of St. Joseph on the city's west side. The estate was developed in the 1850s by Charles Clement, a leading local businessman whose family fortune was made in the locally prominent marble industry. The house is a notably fine example of Italianate architecture; it currently houses the administrative offices of the college. The estate was listed on National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

College of St. Joseph was a Private Roman Catholic liberal arts college in Rutland County, Vermont. It occupied a 117 acres (0.47 km2) wooded campus. Although the college was accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education, it was placed on probation in August 2018 because of the college's financial challenges. It closed at the end of the spring 2019 semester.

The Rutland Senate District is one of 16 districts of the Vermont Senate. The current district plan is included in the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2020 U.S. Census, which applies to legislatures elected in 2022, 2024, 2026, 2028, and 2030. The Rutland District includes all of Rutland County except the town of Mount Holly, which is in the Windsor district. As of the 2010 census, the state as a whole had a population of 625,741. As there are a total of 30 Senators, there were 20,858 residents per senator.

Fort Ranger was a historical fort located near Rutland, Vermont, USA which dates back to 1778. The first commander was Captain Gideon Brownson. (Ann Story Chapter DAR) During the American Revolutionary War Whitcomb's Rangers were stationed there.

Center Rutland is an unincorporated village in the town of Rutland, Rutland County, Vermont, United States. The community is located along U.S. Route 4 Business and Vermont Route 3 on the western border of the city of Rutland. Center Rutland had a post office from May 1, 1850, until March 19, 2011; it still has its own ZIP code, 05736.

Evergreen Cemetery is a burial ground located in Rutland Town, Vermont. It is managed by the Rutland Evergreen Cemetery Association. Evergreen was founded as Pine Hill Cemetery in 1861, and the name was subsequently changed.

West Rutland is the central village and a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of West Rutland, Rutland County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 1,898, out of 2,214 in the entire town of West Rutland. The CDP is in central Rutland County, in the southern part of the town. It sits in a valley on the east side of the Taconic Mountains, drained to the east by the Clarendon River, a tributary of Otter Creek, and to the west by the Castleton River, a tributary of the Poultney River. Both sets of rivers eventually flow to Lake Champlain. U.S. Route 4, a four-lane expressway, passes south of the village center, with access from Exit 6. Route 4 leads east 4 miles (6 km) to U.S. Route 7 on the south side of Rutland and west 13 miles (21 km) to Fair Haven. Vermont Route 4A, former US 4, is Main Street through West Rutland; it leads east 4 miles (6 km) to downtown Rutland and west 7 miles (11 km) to Castleton. Vermont Route 133 (Clarendon Avenue) leads south from the center of West Rutland 11 miles (18 km) to Middletown Springs.

The Kazon Building is a historic industrial building at 50 Marble Street in West Rutland, Vermont. Built in 1929, it is a well-preserved local example of a purpose-built garment factory, built by Louis Kazon, a leading local businessman in that industry. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. It has been converted to mixed office and residential use.

The West Rutland Town Hall is located at Main and Marble Streets in the village center of West Rutland, Vermont. Built in 1908-09, it is a fine and restrained example of Colonial Revival architecture, and originally housed town offices, the public library, and a community meeting space. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Wilson Castle is a nineteenth-century estate located at Proctor in the U.S. state of Vermont. The house was built in 1885 in a mix of nineteenth-century architectural styles including Dutch neo-renaissance, Scottish baronial, Queen Anne, and Romanesque Revival. It is now operated as a house museum and is open late May until late October for an admission fee.
