Franklin West Supervisory Union (FWSU) is located in Georgia, Vermont (Franklin County). Supervisory Unions in Vermont provide administrative governance for local school districts. FWSU oversees Fairfax Town School District, Fletcher Town School District, and Georgia Town School District and also serves Bellows Free Academy in Fairfax, Georgia Elementary Middle School, and Fletcher Elementary School.

Rutland County is a county located in the U.S. state of Vermont. As of the 2020 census, the population was 60,572, making it the second-most populous county in Vermont. Its county seat and most populous municipality is the city of Rutland.

It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Rutland-1-2 District includes all of the Rutland County towns of Clarendon, Proctor, and West Rutland, and the portion of the town of Ira not included in Rutland-1-1. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The two member Rutland-1-2 District had a population of 7,559 in that same census, 6.89% below the state average.

The Boardman Hill Solar Farm (BHSF) is a 150 kW AC community solar farm project. The Farm is the first community solar array in Vermont that fulfills the “Vermont Grown, Vermont Green” Archived 2019-01-24 at the Wayback Machine mission: complete member-ownership, democratic management of ongoing operations, and retirement of the RECs generated by the solar farm. It is located on the Boardman Hill Farm in West Rutland, Vermont.In 2015 BHSF was awarded the Vermont Energy and Climate Action Network Best Project of 2015 Archived 2018-01-27 at the Wayback Machine It received the Vermont Governor's Environmental Excellence Award in 2016.

West Rutland is the central village and a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of West Rutland, Rutland County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 1,898, out of 2,214 in the entire town of West Rutland. The CDP is in central Rutland County, in the southern part of the town. It sits in a valley on the east side of the Taconic Mountains, drained to the east by the Clarendon River, a tributary of Otter Creek, and to the west by the Castleton River, a tributary of the Poultney River. Both sets of rivers eventually flow to Lake Champlain. U.S. Route 4, a four-lane expressway, passes south of the village center, with access from Exit 6. Route 4 leads east 4 miles (6 km) to U.S. Route 7 on the south side of Rutland and west 13 miles (21 km) to Fair Haven. Vermont Route 4A, former US 4, is Main Street through West Rutland; it leads east 4 miles (6 km) to downtown Rutland and west 7 miles (11 km) to Castleton. Vermont Route 133 (Clarendon Avenue) leads south from the center of West Rutland 11 miles (18 km) to Middletown Springs.

The West Rutland Town Hall is located at Main and Marble Streets in the village center of West Rutland, Vermont. Built in 1908-09, it is a fine and restrained example of Colonial Revival architecture, and originally housed town offices, the public library, and a community meeting space. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Kazon Building is a historic industrial building at 50 Marble Street in West Rutland, Vermont. Built in 1929, it is a well-preserved local example of a purpose-built garment factory, built by Louis Kazon, a leading local businessman in that industry. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. It has been converted to mixed office and residential use.

The West Rutland School is a public secondary school located in Rutland County, Vermont. The school serves about 360 students.

The Marble Street Historic District encompasses what was once the principal business district of West Rutland, Vermont. Centered on Marble Street between Thrall Avenue and Smith Place, this area was the town's economic hub during the years (roughly 1885 to 1935) when the local marble quarries dominated the local economy. The area has also been bypassed as a transportation route, resulting in the preservation of a number of period commercial buildings. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

West Rutland is a town in Rutland County, Vermont, United States. The population was 2,214 at the 2020 census. The town center, located in the south-central portion of the town and where about 87% of the population resides, is defined by the U.S. Census Bureau as a census-designated place (CDP). The town is part of the Rutland micropolitan NECTA.

The St. Stanislaus Kostka School and Convent House are a historic former religious school and convent at 95 and 113 Barnes Street in West Rutland, Vermont. The school, a small Classical Revival building, was built in 1924, and was an important element in the local Polish immigrant community; the convent is an adapted 19th-century single-family house. Both have been converted to conventional residential uses. They were listed as a pair on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

WDVT (94.5 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a classic rock music format branded as "Rock 94.5". Licensed to Rutland, Vermont, United States, the station serves the Lebanon-Rutland-White River Junction area. The station is currently owned by Pamal Broadcasting.
