Cincinnati–Newport Bridge

The Taylor–Southgate Bridge is a continuous truss bridge that was built in 1995. It has a main span of 850 feet (260 m), and a total span of 1,850 feet (560 m). The bridge carries U.S. Route 27 across the Ohio River, connecting Newport, Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio. Some regard this bridge, which was a replacement for the Cincinnati-Newport Bridge built by Samuel Bigstaff, as a little too plain in its design for a major urban bridge, especially considering many cities today are opting for a more elegant design, such as a cable stayed bridge.The bridge is named for the families of James Taylor, Jr. and Richard Southgate, two important early settlers of Newport. Richard was the father of William Wright Southgate, a pre Civil War Congressman from northern Kentucky. The bridge replaced the Cincinnati-Newport Bridge, a truss bridge built in 1890. Commonly known as Central Bridge, it was demolished in 1992.

The Cincinnati Public Landing is the landing on the banks of the Ohio River in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. The Cincinnati Public Landing by 1825 had shipbuilding facilities. It was described in 1841 as a space of nearly 10 acres (4 ha), with a front of almost 1,000 feet (305 m). In the age of steamboat transport, the public landing was frequently jammed with riverboat traffic with 5,000 arrivals and departures per season.The historic showboat Majestic was moored at the Public Landing until it was sold in 2019 at public auction and relocated to Manchester, Ohio.

Heritage Bank Center is an indoor arena located in downtown Cincinnati, next to the Great American Ball Park. It was completed in September 1975 and named Riverfront Coliseum because of its placement next to Riverfront Stadium. In 1997, the facility became known as The Crown, and in 1999, it changed its name again to Firstar Center after Firstar Bank assumed naming rights. In 2002, following Firstar's merger with U.S. Bank, the arena took on the name U.S. Bank Arena and kept that name until 2019. The arena seats 17,556 people and is the largest indoor arena in the Greater Cincinnati region with 346,100 square feet (32,150 m2) of space. The arena underwent a $14 million renovation project in 1997. The current main tenant is the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL.

General James Taylor Park is a small urban park in Newport, Kentucky, United States. It is located on Riverboat Row overlooking the confluence of the Ohio and Licking rivers and the skyline of Cincinnati. It is named for General James Taylor, Jr., a founder of Newport. The park occupies the land of the Newport Barracks, a military fort from 1803 to 1893.A helicopter tour operates out of the park.

The Newport Aquarium is an aquarium located in Newport, Kentucky, United States at Newport on the Levee, across the river from Cincinnati. It has 70 exhibits and 14 galleries, including five seamless acrylic tunnels totaling over 200 feet (61 m) in length. The aquarium also showcases thousands of animals from around the world in 1,000,000 US gal (3,800,000 L) of water, including Scooter and Sweet Pea, two of the few shark rays in captivity. It is the first aquarium to have success in breeding shark rays. It also hosts a collection of alligators, including albino alligators and Mighty Mike (left in 2018). Newport Aquarium is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, a leader in global wildlife conservation. The aquarium has many outreach programs, including the mobile shark cart and the WAVE Foundation, that seeks to educate the public about our oceans and promote STEM. Throughout the year, they have seasonal events to engage the public and promote ocean conservation. The Newport Aquarium is part of Herschend Family Entertainment, a for-profit company.

The Who concert disaster was a crowd disaster that occurred on December 3, 1979, when British rock band The Who performed at Riverfront Coliseum (now known as Heritage Bank Center) in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States, and a rush of concert-goers outside the Coliseum's entry doors resulted in the deaths of 11 people.

Sawyer Point Park & Yeatman's Cove are a pair of side-by-side parks on the riverfront of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. The two linear parks stretch one mile along the north shore of the Ohio River. Since 2012, the parks have been the location for the annual Bunbury Music Festival.

Newport on the Levee is a dining and attraction destination located on Third Street in Newport, Kentucky. It is located adjacent to the Purple People Bridge along the Ohio River and boasts views of downtown Cincinnati and the Ohio River. The Levee is only one block away from the East Row Historic District and the Monmouth Street Historic District. It is named after the levee that it rests on. The Levee, as the locals call it, features annual community events like Live at the Levee, Light up the Levee, the Levee Wine Walk, Salute to Service 5K and many more. Some of the featured retail and attractions are the 20-screen AMC Theatres megaplex, DartRush Nerf Arena, GameWorks, Garra Fish Spa and much more. The main attraction at the Levee is the Newport Aquarium. There was a Barnes & Noble Booksellers but it closed in 2019.Newport on the Levee stands on the site of the former Posey Flats apartments. In 2017, AMC Newport on the Levee 20 Theater began a revitalization project with a lease extension for AMC through 2032.

Newport Barracks was a military barracks on the Ohio River, across from Cincinnati, Ohio in Newport, Kentucky. It was operational from 1803 until 1894.

The Licking River is a partly navigable, 303-mile-long (488 km) tributary of the Ohio River in northeastern Kentucky in the United States. The river and its tributaries drain much of the region of northeastern Kentucky between the watersheds of the Kentucky River to the west and the Big Sandy River to the east. The North Fork Licking River, in Pendleton County, Kentucky, is one of its tributaries.

Pennsylvania Station was a railroad station in Cincinnati, Ohio, that served the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR), for which it was named, and the Louisville and Nashville Railroad. Built in 1880, it stood at the corner of Pearl and Butler Streets just east of the L & N bridge. Pennsylvania Station was one of two stations in Downtown Cincinnati served by the PRR. The other was the Cincinnati, Lebanon and Northern Railway station on Court Street, after that line's acquisition by the PRR. On April 2, 1933, all passenger service to Cincinnati was rerouted to Cincinnati Union Terminal, and Pennsylvania Station was abandoned.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church, built in 1871, is an historic Episcopal church located at 7 Court Place at York Street in Newport, Kentucky, in the United States. On November 25, 1980 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
