Royal Docks

The London Regatta Centre (now formally known as Royal Docks Watersports Centre) is a rowing and dragon boat racing centre located in the Docklands area in the East End of London. It is built at the west end on the northern quayside of the historic Royal Albert Dock directly opposite London City Airport. The site is owned by the Royal Albert Dock Trust, and is home to the Queen Mary, University of London Boat Club, London Youth Rowing, Curlew Rowing Club, London Otters Rowing Club, University of East London Boat Club, Raging Dragons Dragon Boat Club, Thames Dragons, Wave Walkers, Windy Pandas DBC and Typhoon DBC amongst others.The Regatta Centre was opened formally in March 2000 by the Princess Royal. The building was designed by Ian Ritchie Architects. The 200-year lease on the land for the centre was to the Royal Albert Dock Trust, by the London Docklands Development Corporation.The centre has a 2,000 metre course, with seven lanes plus a return lane. The existing 1,750-metre length of the dock was extended to 2,000 by the removal and replacement of the Woolwich Manor Way Bridge at the east of the dock. The new bridge was built further east and is now officially known as the Sir Steve Redgrave Bridge. London Otters Rowing Club is an LGBT-friendly rowing club based at the London Regatta Centre in the Docklands area of London, U.K. on the River Thames.

Royal Albert DLR station is a station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) in Beckton in east London. The station serves the western end of the north quay of the Royal Albert Dock, from which it takes its name. A view of the London City Airport is available. The station is located on an elevated section of the DLR's Beckton branch, between Prince Regent and Beckton Park stations. It is in Travelcard Zone 3.

St Mark's Church, Silvertown or St Mark's Church, Victoria Docks is a former church building in Silvertown in east London, located on North Woolwich Road. It takes one of its names from the nearby Royal Docks. It was listed as Grade II* in 1971 and now houses the Brick Lane Music Hall.

Connaught Road was a railway station in east London that was opened by the London & St. Katharine Docks Company on 3 August 1880. It was located on Connaught Road, north of the channel joining the Royal Victoria Dock and Royal Albert Dock. The station was sited very close to the junction where the EC&TJR split into three branches (to Beckton, Gallions and North Woolwich), between Canning Town and Central stations, on the Gallions branch. Connaught Road was sparingly used by passenger services, which ceased from 8 September 1940 after destructive wartime bombing caused by a German air raid, and the goods line was closed with the closure of the Royal Docks.With the redevelopment of London Docklands in the 1980s and 1990s, the line was replaced in 1994 by the Docklands Light Railway extension to Beckton. No trace of Connaught Road station remains today; the current Prince Regent and Royal Albert DLR stations are both roughly equidistant from the site.

Silvertown railway station was on the North London Line (NLL) serving the Silvertown area of east London, the station and the eastern section of the line it was on were closed in 2006. It was situated between Custom House (now a Docklands Light Railway station) and North Woolwich, the eastern terminus of the line.

The Tate Institute was a community facility established by Henry Tate in Silvertown in 1887.The building was established to create an apolitical and non-sectarian environment. The Institute closed in 1933 and the building was used as a local library until 1961. The institute was boarded up in 2011, but in April 2016 a group of artists took over the building establishing the "Craftory", to rehabilitate the building and create the “Silvertown ArtSpace” to provide a hub for a broad range of artistic and community activities.

The Church of the Ascension, West Ham, or Church of the Ascension, Victoria Docks, is a Church of England church on Baxter Road in West Ham, east London. It was first built in 1887 as a mission hall for St Luke's Church, later put under the charge of the Felsted School Mission, which prior to that had been working in Bromley. Between 1903 and 1907 a new church was built, with a separate parish split from St Luke's in 1905. The new parish opened a mission house for women workers in 1909.From about 1924 writer Mabel Knowles led the St Luke's Mission Church in London's Victoria Docks. Knowles wrote more than 300 books during her life. She continued for leading the mission for 25 years, dying while preparing a mission service for women on 29 November 1949.During the Second World War clergy from the Church of the Ascension also served Sandon parish near Chelmsford, since its rector Eric Leicester Andrews had been captured by the Japanese during the fall of Singapore in 1942. In 1961 the Church of the Ascension took on the area covered by the parish of St Matthew's Church, Custom House, which had been closed and deconsecrated the previous year.

The Albert Dock Seamen's Hospital was a hospital provided by the Seamen's Hospital Society for the care of ex-members of the Merchant navy, the fishing fleets and their dependents. It was opened in 1890 as a branch of the Dreadnought Seamen's Hospital, Greenwich. The London School of Tropical Medicine was established here in October 1899, by Sir Patrick Manson with assistance from the British Secretary of State for the Colonies (Joseph Chamberlain). Together with the Hospital for Tropical Diseases they moved to Euston in February 1920.The Hospital was relocated to a new site on nearby Alnwick Road (east of Felsted Road) in 1937-1938 and became part of Newham Health District under the City and East London Area Health Authority (Teaching) in 1974 and was converted from acute to orthopaedic use. It came under the direct control of Newham Health Authority in 1981 and subsequently became a homeward bound mental handicap unit which closed in c1993. The hospital buildings were demolished in 1993 except for one range which retains its 1930s brown brick elevations and central rendered pediment, now converted to residential use.

London City Airport is a light metro station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) Stratford-Woolwich and Bank-Woolwich Lines; serving London City Airport in East London. It opened on 2 December 2005. It was first located on what was initially King George V branch, and was, until the extension to Woolwich Arsenal was completed, the reason for this branch. It continues to be an important station on the DLR. Trains run westbound to Bank in the City of London, northbound to Stratford International and eastbound to Woolwich Arsenal. The station is in the London Borough of Newham and is located in Travelcard Zone 3.

Beckton District Park is a public park in Beckton in the London Borough of Newham. Together with King George V Park, it forms Beckton District Park and Newham City Farm, a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade II.The part of the park north of the Tollgate Road is sometimes marked on maps as Beckton District Park North, and the land east of Stanfeld Road as Beckton District Park South. The Capital Ring goes through the park and connects the North and South parts of the park via a footpath.

Royal Docks Academy (formerly Royal Docks Community School) is a coeducational secondary school located in Custom House within the London Borough of Newham, England. It does not have a sixth form.
