The 19th arrondissement of Paris (XIXe arrondissement) is one of the 20 arrondissements of the capital city of France. In spoken French, this arrondissement is referred to as dix-neuvième. The arrondissement, known as Butte-Chaumont, is situated on the right bank of the River Seine. It is crossed by two canals, the Canal Saint-Denis and the Canal de l'Ourcq, which meet near the Parc de la Villette. The 19th arrondissement, mixing the Old French bohemianism and also the Parisian cosmopolitanism, includes two public parks: the Parc des Buttes Chaumont, located on a hill, and the Parc de la Villette, which is home to the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, a museum and exhibition centre, the Conservatoire de Paris, one of the most renowned music schools in Europe, the Cabaret Sauvage, the Zénith de Paris and the Philharmonie de Paris, both part of the Cité de la Musique.

The Bassin de la Villette (La Villette Basin) is the largest artificial lake in Paris. It was filled with water on 2 December 1808. Located in the 19th arrondissement of the capital, it links the Canal de l'Ourcq to the Canal Saint-Martin, and it represents one of the elements of the Réseau des Canaux Parisiens (Parisian Canal Network), a public-works authority operated by the city. The other components of the network are the Canal de l'Ourcq, the Canal Saint-Denis, the Canal Saint-Martin, and the Bassin de l'Arsenal. Together, these canals and basins extend roughly 130 kilometres (81 mi). Rectangular, eight hundred metres in length and seventy metres in width, it begins at the Rue de Crimée lifting bridge, the last bridge in Paris that can be raised and lowered hydraulically to permit the passage of ship and barge traffic beneath it, and it ends at the Place de la Bataille-de-Stalingrad near the Rotunda de la Villette. River cruise boats tie-up here and the shores of the basin are also the location of the MK2 Quai de Loire and MK2 Quai de Seine theatre complexes which are the most modern in France. A small electric passenger ferry, the Zéro de conduite, is available for transporting people from one side of the basin to the other. The basin is bordered in the north by the Quai de la Seine and in the south by the Quai de la Loire, which are linked in the middle of the basin by a footbridge, the Passerelle de la Moselle.

The Église Saint-Serge is a parish Russian Orthodox Church located at 93 rue de Crimée in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. It was originally a Protestant church for the German community, but was requisitioned by the French government at the beginning of the First World War. After the war, in 1924, it was sold by the French government to the Russian Orthodox church, and consecrated in 1925.The church was under the jurisdiction of the Archbishop of Orthodox of Churches of Western Tradition in Europe, headed by the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople. In 2019 it was transferred to the authority of the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church in Moscow. The site also is home to the Institute of Orthodox Theology, of Saint Serge.

La Villette (French pronunciation: [la vilɛt] ) was a French commune (municipality) in the Seine département lying immediately north-east of Paris. It was one of four communes entirely annexed by the city of Paris in 1859. Its territory is now located in the 19th arrondissement, but a neighborhood has retained its name: the quartier de La Villette and the Parc de la Villette. A Gallo-Roman village stood here along the Roman road that led north from Lutetia. About 1198 the district was named the Villa Nova Sancti Lazari, in French Ville Neuf Saint-Ladre, the "new village of Saint-Ladre", which referred to the leper hospice dedicated to the lepers' patron Saint Lazare (Ladre); it became Villette-Saint-Ladre-lez-Paris in a document of 1426. In 1790, the Constituent Assembly of Revolutionary France raised the hamlet to the status of a commune.

The St. Sergius Orthodox Theological Institute (French: Institut de théologie orthodoxe Saint-Serge) in Paris, France, is a private university of higher education in Orthodox theology. Founded in 1925 by a group led by Metropolitan Eulogius Georgiyevsky, historian, theologian, and last Minister of Religious Affairs of the Russian Provisional Government, Anton Kartashev, Lev Liperovsky and Mikhail Ossorguine, with the active support of Nobel Peace Prize recipient John Mott. It is under the canonical jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Russian Orthodox churches in Western Europe under the omophorion of the Russian Orthodox Church. The institute has been in conformity with French legislation and the norms of European university education since its earliest years and is accredited by the Académie de Paris to deliver bachelor, masters and doctoral degrees. The mission of the institute is to form educated priests and laypeople, intending them to serve actively the Orthodox Church and representing it in ecumenical dialogue as well as in the religious and cultural life of their own country.

Île du Belvédère is an island located on the lake of Parc des Buttes Chaumont, in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. Covering an area of around 6,700 m2 (72,000 sq ft), it is connected to the bank by two bridges: to the west by Pont des Suicidés, made of stone, and to the south by a hanging walkway, made of wood.

The Cours Florent is a private French drama school in Paris established in 1967 by François Florent. The school is located on three nearby sites in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, France: rue Archereau, rue Mathis, and Avenue Jean-Jaurès; further along is the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris. The Cours Florent also has locations in Brussels, Belgium, Montpellier, France, and Bordeaux, France.

The Parc des Buttes Chaumont (pronounced [paʁk de byt ʃomɔ̃]) is a public park situated in northeastern Paris, France, in the 19th arrondissement. Occupying 24.7 hectares (61 acres), it is the fifth-largest park in Paris, after the Bois de Vincennes, Bois de Boulogne, Parc de la Villette and Tuileries Garden. Opened in 1867, late in the regime of Napoleon III, it was built according to plans by Jean-Charles Adolphe Alphand, who created all the major parks demanded by the Emperor. The park has 5.5 kilometres (3.4 miles) of roads and 2.2 kilometres (1.4 miles) of paths. The most famous feature of the park is the Temple de la Sibylle, inspired by the Temple of Vesta in Tivoli, Italy, and perched at the top of a cliff fifty metres above the waters of the artificial lake.

Bolivar (French pronunciation: ​[bɔlivaʁ]) is a station on 7bis of the Paris Métro in the 19th arrondissement. It is named after the nearby avenue Simon Bolivar, which is turn was named after Simón Bolívar (1783–1830), liberator of several South American countries.

Riquet (French pronunciation: [ʁikɛ]) is a station of the Paris Métro and located in the 19th arrondissement of Paris.

The Yeshiva of the Students of Paris (or the Hebrew Center for Study and Meditation) is a seminary of rabbinical studies (a yeshiva) that was founded in 1987 by the Rabbi Gerard Zyzek. His objective was the learning of the Jewish traditions and the Babylonian Talmud.

Crimée (French pronunciation: [kʁime] ) is a station of the Paris Métro and is located in the 19th arrondissement of Paris under avenue de Flandre. The station is named after the nearby rue de Crimée, the longest road in the arrondissement, whose name commemorates the Crimean War (1855–56), on the Crimean Peninsula of the Russian Empire on the Black Sea, where a coalition of Turkey, the United Kingdom, France, and Piedmont faced Russia. It was notable for the Siege of Sevastopol (1854–1855) and the Charge of the Light Brigade. The conflict ended in the Treaty of Paris (1856), with the Russian Empire's defeat.
