Guilford High School is a high school located in Rockford, Illinois, United States. Guilford High School is one of four public high schools of the Rockford Public School District 205, along with Auburn, East, and Jefferson.

New Milford is a village in Winnebago County, Illinois, United States on the south bank of the Kishwaukee River overlooking the south side of Rockford. It is part of the Rockford, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 697 at the 2010 census, up from 541 in 2000.

The South Branch Kishwaukee River is a 63.6-mile-long (102.4 km) tributary of the Kishwaukee River in northern Illinois. The South Branch is the main branch of the Kishwaukee River, joining it 10.6 miles (17.1 km) above its confluence with the Rock River. The South Branch flows through DeKalb County; in 2007 flooding along the tributary inundated areas of DeKalb County and Sycamore, Illinois. Another stream, also named South Branch Kishwaukee River, flows through Kane County and McHenry County, joining the main stem of the Kishwaukee east of Marengo.

The Turner School is a historic school building located at 1410 Broadway in Rockford, Illinois. The school was built in 1898; it was named for city alderman J.M. Turner. Rockford architectural firm Bradley & Carpenter designed the school in a combination of three popular contemporary architectural styles: Classical Revival, Colonial Revival, and Richardsonian Romanesque. The 2+1⁄2-story building is built from brick with a limestone foundation and a hipped roof. The main entrance is on the south side; the arched entrance is located within a projecting bay with a gabled pediment. The building's roof includes an octagonal cupola and gabled dormers.After the school closed, the building served as an abortion clinic from 1973 until 2011. In 2015, the building was approved for use as a police station.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 29, 2015.
