St Benedict's School, Ealing

Ealing Abbey is a Catholic Benedictine monastic foundation on Castlebar Hill in Ealing. It is part of the English Benedictine Congregation. As of 2020, the Abbey had 14 monks.

St Peter's Church, Ealing, is an Anglican parish church in Mount Park Road, North Ealing, in the Diocese of London, regarded by John Betjeman as being amongst "the noblest churches we possess". Held to be one of the premier architectural works in Ealing, the Grade II* Listed building is noted for its combination of Arts & Crafts and late-Victorian Gothic as well as its west front and great west window. In addition to Sunday and weekday services, the church and adjacent hall serve as a hub for various community activities and events.

Harvington Prep School and Nursery is an independent preparatory school in Ealing, west London. Durston House School is an independent preparatory school in the UK for boys aged 4–13. It is a leading west London prep school and is a noted feeder school of Merchant Taylors’, John Lyon, Hampton and St Paul's School. Day fees range from £4,340 to £5,230 per term, though scholarships and bursaries are available.In 2015, the Independent Schools Inspectorate observed that "The school is successful in meeting its aim of providing an outstanding education."

Castlebar Hill is a hill in Ealing which is 167 feet (51 m) high. In the 18th century, it was the location of Castle Beare, a grand mansion or country seat, for the area at this time was but a hamlet, not yet having been built up as part of the London conurbation.Castlebar Hill is also the name of one of the roads that runs up the hill (now classed as part of the B455). An experimental hostel for deaf and blind children was founded at what is now 8 Castlebar Hill by Dr Edith Whetnall FRCS, a pioneering audiologist. The hostel was opened in 1953 by Iain Macleod MP and Spencer Tracy, as part of The Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital. It closed in 1993. In 2015, the Ealing Civil Society unveiled a plaque dedicated to the work of Dr Edith Whetnall on the building.

Brentham Garden Suburb near Pitshanger in Ealing was the first garden suburb in London to be built in co-partnership housing movement principles, predating the larger and better-known Hampstead Garden Suburb by some years. It was mostly built between 1901 and 1915, and became a conservation area in 1969.

St Barnabas Church, Pitshanger Lane is a Church of England church in London Borough of Ealing. It was Grade II listed in 1997.

The Ealing rail crash was an accident on the British railway system that occurred on 19 December 1973. The 17:18 express train from London Paddington to Oxford—with approximately 650 passengers on board—was derailed while travelling at around 70 mph (110 km/h) between Ealing Broadway and West Ealing. Ten passengers were killed and 94 were injured, and it was Britain's deadliest train crash of the decade until the Moorgate tube crash which killed 45. The cause of the accident was an unsecured maintenance door that had fallen open whilst the train was travelling, after having struck several lineside objects, it struck a Point machine at Longfield Avenue, derailing the entire train.

Pitshanger (sometimes referred to as Pitshanger Village) is a small but busy local suburb, centred on the shops in Pitshanger Lane, located about 1 mile north of Ealing Broadway in west London. First mentioned in 1493, possibly meaning an area of sloped woodland frequented by birds. It contains numerous small independent shops, several cafes, two pubs, two churches, a school, and a park (Pitshanger Park), and is often taken to also include parts of the nearby Brentham Garden Suburb.

The Victoria Hall, Ealing is a public hall belonging to the west London community of Ealing for their recreational use. It was conceived in 1886 by Charles Jones the first architect, engineer and surveyor of Ealing Council. Its construction next to Ealing Town Hall was funded entirely by public donations and its operations governed by the Victoria Hall Trust, established in 1893. In 2015 the Council announced plans to sell off the Grade II listed building to a development partner on a long lease. The plan led to protests by local residents' groups who called for the Hall to continue to be available for use as a public asset.

The Ealing Jazz Club was a music venue on The Broadway, Ealing, in the west of London. Opened in January 1959, it became London's first regular R&B venue with a performance by the influential Alexis Korner and Cyril Davies band Blues Incorporated.
