Afon Braint

Pen-Lon is a village in the community of Rhosyr, Ynys Môn, Wales, located just south east of the larger village of Newborough. Attractions in the locality include the island's model village (miniature park)The nearest railway station is Bodorgan, five miles away and the 42 bus from Llangefni to Bangor runs through the village.

Newborough Warren (Welsh: Tywyn Niwbwrch) near the village of Newborough (Niwbwrch) is a large dune and beach system of 2,269 hectares (5,607 acres; 23 km2), approximately half of which is a conifer plantation. The whole area is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and all of the site except the forestry is a national nature reserve.The site is bounded on two sides by rivers: to the south-east by the Afon Braint and to the north-west by the Afon Cefni. It includes Llanddwyn Bay and Malltraeth Bay, divided by Ynys Llanddwyn, and part of the Anglesey Coastal Path.

Llangeinwen is a village on the island of Anglesey in the community of Rhosyr. It is the location of St Ceinwen's Church, Llangeinwen.Welsh educator and founder of Aberystwyth University, Hugh Owen was born in the village.

St Ceinwen's Church, Llangeinwen, is a Grade II* listed building in Anglesey, north Wales. It is 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) from the neighbouring St Mary's Church, Llanfair-yn-y-Cwmwd. The historic environment service of the Welsh government, Cadw, says that: Two sisters, Ceinwen and Dwynwen, founded this church and the now-ruined church on nearby Llanddwyn Island. Both churches were subsequently dedicated to their founders, which is unusual. The present building at Llangeinwen is 12th century and has been in constant use since then. It is grade II* listed. The north and south walls of the nave are of this period, those of the chancel being medieval. The north chapel was added in 19th century as was the tower; gravestones of 9th and 11th centuries are built into the buttresses. The decorated stone font is 13th century. There is a blocked up 12th century doorway on the north wall of the nave. The brass chandeliers are from the early 19th century. Named for St Ceinwen, the church is located within an enclosed churchyard on the NW side of the A4080, 800m West of the village of Dwyran.

Aethwy was a rural district in the administrative county of Anglesey, Wales, from 1894 to 1974. It was created under the Local Government Act 1894 from the part of the Bangor rural sanitary district which was on Anglesey. In 1933 it was expanded by a county review order, taking in all of the abolished Dwyran Rural District. The district was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972, becoming part of a single Ynys Môn - Isle of Anglesey district.

Dwyran was a rural district in the administrative county of Anglesey, Wales from 1894 to 1933. The rural district was formed by the Local Government Act 1894 from the part of Carnarvon Rural Sanitary District in Anglesey. It took its name from the village of Dwyran, which lay at its centre. The district consisted of five civil parishes: Llanfair Cwmmwd Llangaffo Llangeinwen Llanidan NewboroughThe rural district was abolished in 1933, when a county review order amalgamated it into an enlarged Aethwy Rural District.

The A4080 is a British A road which is located on the Island of Anglesey, Wales. It follows a very roundabout route from the A5 road at Llanfairpwllgwyngyll via Newborough and Rhosneigr back to the A55 and the A5 about 9 miles (14 km) south of Holyhead. In all the road is about 17 miles (27 km) long.

Abermenai Point (Welsh: Pwynt Abermenai) is a headland in the southeast of the island of Anglesey in Wales. It is the southernmost point of the island and is the northern point of the western entrance of the Menai Strait. The headland is mainly composed of sand dunes at the end of Newborough Warren and has no road leading up to or onto it. The nearest major public road, along which a public bus runs is the A4080 at Newborough. Due to its exposed location and the nature of the straits the Ordnance Survey map for the point carries a warning "Public Rights of Way to Abermenai Point can be dangerous under tidal conditions." The earliest recorded ferry crossing route from the island to the mainland ran from the point to the site at which Fort Belan now sits. Records in the late 11th century relating to the then King of Gwynedd, Gruffudd ap Cynan state that a ferryman was employed there and ferry houses at both locations have been recorded throughout history. In 1725, Daniel Defoe, the author of novels such as "Robinson Crusoe" used the crossing on his way to Holyhead. The ferry ceased to run in the mid-19th century and by the 1940s almost all trace of it had disappeared. The decline of the ferry service was almost certainly due to the construction between 1846 and 1850 of the Britannia Bridge further up the strait which brought the railway to the island.

Dwyran is a village on the island of Anglesey, in north-west Wales, in the community of Rhosyr. Population 2011 census was 603. The first prototype Land Rover off-road vehicle was built Dwyran in 1947.

Fort Belan (alternative: Belan Fort; pronounced: Bell-ann) is a coastal fortress in North Wales. It is located opposite Abermenai Point, at the south-western end of the Menai Strait, on the coast of Gwynedd, in the parish of Llanwnda. Situated at the tip of the Dinlle Peninsula, the windblown, north-westernmost point of the Welsh mainland, the fort is cut off twice a day by the incoming tide.

Rhosyr is a community in the far southern corner of Anglesey, Wales. It includes the villages of Dwyran and Newborough, Llangeinwen and Llangaffo. The community population taken at the 2011 census was 2,226. and includes Llanddwyn Island and Newborough Forest.

Newborough (Welsh: Niwbwrch) is a village in the south-western corner of the Isle of Anglesey in Wales; it is in the community (and former electoral ward) of Rhosyr, which has a population of 2,169, increasing to 2,226 at the 2011 census. the village itself having a population of 892 with 68% born in Wales.
