Helgalund, Helgalunden, or Tjurberget, is a neighbourhood on the island Södermalm in Stockholm, Sweden. The picturesque area was designed by architect and city planner Per Olof Hallman, c. 1930. The neighbourhood is located on the hill Tjurberget with parks in the north and south. At the centre of Helgalund is Allhelgonakyrkan, the "Church of all saints," in the grove Helgalunden, from which the area takes its name. The eight groves of Rosenlundsparken, Tjurbergsgatan, Blekingegatan, Götgatan, Dalslandsgatan, Tjurberget, Assesorsgatan, and Grindsgatan roughly make up the borders of the area.

Skatteskrapan ("The Tax Scraper") is a 26-storey, 86 m (282 ft) building in Stockholm, Sweden. It is located at Götgatan 76 in the district of Södermalm, in a block named Gamen (The Vulture). With an initial height of 81 metres and 25 floors, it was the tallest building in Sweden from its completion in 1959 to 1964 when it was surpassed by the 84 metres tall Dagens Nyheter Tower. The building was designed by architect Paul Hedqvist for the Swedish National Tax Board (hence its name). It served as the office of the Tax Board until 2003, when it was decided under then Mayor of Stockholm Annika Billström that the building be rebuilt internally to turn it into student apartments. Svenska Bostäder took over ownership of the building from its former host Vasakronan on 29 December 2003. In 2008 the building was bought by AP Fastigheter which soon merged with Vasakronan. The building is protected as a cultural landmark by the City of Stockholm, which means it can't be rebuilt externally. The skyscraper, as rebuilt by Skanska, now has 415 student apartments as well as office and conference space on the top floors. Connecting with the rebuilt building, another seven-floor building was built on a side with 61 student apartments and 19 general rental apartments. On the first and second floors of the skyscraper, and in the side building, there is now space used for shops and restaurants. The official name of the new building complex is Skrapan (The Scraper). In the rebuilding process a new floor with a skybar was added at the top, increasing the floor count to 26.

Skanstull is an area in Södermalm in Stockholm. Skanstull connects the traffic between the inner city and the south parts of Stockholm and its suburbs. Skanstull was originally the city's southern toll station, but the toll station was removed in 1857. Skanstull served as an execution site in the 17th century. It is the birthplace of Swedish artist Bladee. The Skanstull metro station was opened in 1950.

Skanstull, formerly known as Ringvägen, is a station on the Green line of the Stockholm metro. It is situated in the district of Södermalm in central Stockholm, at the intersection of Ringvägen and Götgatan. The station has a single island platform, which is about 5 metres (16 ft) below the street, and has two ticket halls, with access from the junctions of Götgatan with Ringvägen and Allhelgonagatan. The distance to Slussen is 1.2 km (0.75 mi).Skanstull is, along with Medborgarplatsen, the oldest underground station on the metro, actually predating that system by some years. The station lies in the Södertunneln, a tunnel originally built in 1933 for use by routes 8 and 19 of the Stockholm tramway. On 1 October 1950, it became part of Stockholm's first metro line when the Södertunneln was adapted to become part of the line from Slussen south to Hökarängen, and the station was remodelled to full metro standard. Originally known as Ringvägen, the station took its current name when it reopened as part of the metro. The entrance at Allhelgonagatan was opened on 21 November 1957, the station was rebuilt in 2003–2004, and the platform was upgraded in 2009.

Den gröne Jägaren (meaning "The Green Hunter") is a bar and restaurant at Götgatan 64 in Södermalm, Stockholm, Sweden. It began at a small tavern in the 1600s at Sankt Paulsgatan, near Van der Nootska Palace. It is said that Jacob Johan Anckarström ate his dinner at the Den gröne Jägaren on March 16, 1792, before he went to the Gustavian Opera House to shoot the king Gustav III. Today's restaurant is located on the ground floor of Hellgrenska Palace and was built in 1866. On the façade there is the classic flag sign with a green clad hunter with his gun.

Katarina-Sofia was a borough (stadsdelsområde) in central Stockholm, named after the two parishes of Katarina and Sofia. Effective January 1, 2007, the borough merged with the borough of Maria-Gamla Stan to form the Södermalm borough. Katarina-Sofia was made up of the eastern half of Södermalm and Hammarby Sjöstad (Södra Hammarbyhamnen). The population as of 2004 was 42,750 on an area of 3.36 km², which gave a density of 12,723.21/km².

The Diocese of Stockholm (Latin: Dioecesis Holmiensis; Swedish: Stockholms katolska stift) is an exempt Latin Catholic ecclesiastical bishopric in Sweden and the only Catholic diocese established in Sweden since the Protestant Reformation. The diocese belongs to no ecclesiastical province but forms an episcopal conference with its Nordic neighbours. Its territory includes 44 parishes and covers the entire country of Sweden.Its cathedral episcopal see is Saint Eric's Cathedral in Sweden's capital city of Stockholm. The former Catholic cathedrals have been possessions of the Church of Sweden since the reformation, along with other ecclesiastical infrastructure of the pre-Reformation Catholic dioceses in Sweden.

Saint Eric's Cathedral is a Catholic cathedral in Stockholm, Sweden. It is located on Södermalm, the southern part of central Stockholm. It was built in 1892 and was raised to the status of a cathedral in 1953, when the Catholic Diocese of Stockholm was created (still the only one in Sweden). The substantial increase in the number of Catholics in Stockholm and Sweden, mostly as a result of immigration after World War II, made the old church insufficient, and an extension, designed by architects Hans Westman and Ylva Lenormand, was inaugurated in 1983, at the 200th anniversary of the re-establishment in 1783 of the Catholic Church in Lutheran Sweden. The block where the cathedral is located also contains other functions serving the Catholic Church in Sweden. The church takes its name from Saint Eric, the 12th-century king of Sweden who, having been slain by a Danish prince, came to be regarded as a martyr and the patron saint of Sweden and Stockholm, depicted in the seal and coat of arms of the city.

Forsgrenska medborgarhuset or colloquially Medborgarhuset (Swedish for Citizen's Building) is a civic hall in Stockholm, Sweden, located on the southern side of Medborgarplatsen, Södermalm. The complex contains a public bath, an auditorium, a local library, a gymnasium, a children's theatre, and several meeting-rooms. The building was thoroughly restored in 1981, and the bath updated in 1988–1989 with the addition of a winter garden.Built 1936–1939, the yellow brick building is the Neoclassical Functionalist design of Karl Martin Westerberg, even though the classical features of the tall gables facing the public square were significantly reduced in the final design. The architect thought to solve the complex programme by breaking up the volume into three parts to permit daylight to reach the core. Notwithstanding, the building forms a compact volume and renders heavy on its neighbourhood.Swedish minister for foreign affairs Anna Lindh gave her last speech on the stairs of Medborgarhuset on September 9, 2003, two days before she was assassinated.
