The Indianapolis Indiana Temple is a temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) located at the southwest corner of West 116th Street and Spring Mill Road in Carmel, Indiana, north of Indianapolis. It is the first temple constructed in Indiana. The Indianapolis Indiana Temple is similar in design to The Gila Valley Arizona Temple, a single-level temple with an end spire and approximately 34,000 square feet.

Indiana University Health North Hospital (originally named Clarian North Medical Center) is a full-service hospital for adults and children. Opened in December 2005, the 170-bed hospital and attached medical office building offer maternity, pediatric, and adult services. The pediatric inpatient services, imaging services, and emergency department are affiliated with IU Health Riley Hospital for Children and is called Riley North. Other programs affiliated with IU Health North include a Bariatric Center of Excellence, a nationally (NAPBC) accredited Breast Cancer Program, a cardiac program, a pediatric cancer program, and a range of pre-natal and parenting classes and programs. IU Health North is located in Carmel, Indiana, just north of Indianapolis at 116th and Meridian Street. It is part of Indiana University Health, but has a separate board of managers, CEO, executive management team, physician investors, and community representation. On August 23, 2018, ground was broken on the IU Health Joe and Shelly Schwarz Cancer Center. The addition will add 88,000 square feet (8,200 m2) of space, as well as provide consolidated oncology services.

The 1991 PGA Championship was the 73rd PGA Championship, held August 8–11 at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana, a suburb north of Indianapolis. John Daly won the first of his two major titles, three strokes ahead of runner-up Bruce Lietzke.Daly, age 25, was the ninth alternate and only got into the field after several others pulled out of the tournament. Nick Price withdrew for the birth of his first child and Daly hired his caddy, Jeff "Squeaky" Medlin. Daly's outgoing personality and "grip it and rip it" style of play made him an instant fan favorite. The PGA Championship was also his first PGA Tour victory.A spectator, Thomas Weaver, died after being struck by lightning during a weather delay in the first round. It was the second fatality at a major championship in 1991. Two months earlier at the U.S. Open in Minnesota, six people were hit by lightning with one fatality. Daly donated $30,000 to Weaver's family for a college fund. Both daughters went on to graduate from college and one is now a doctor.

The 1993 U.S. Women's Open was the 48th U.S. Women's Open, held July 22–25 at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana, a suburb north of Indianapolis. Five strokes back after three rounds, Lauri Merten fired a 68 (−4) to win her only major title, one stroke ahead of runners-up Donna Andrews and Helen Alfredsson, the 54-hole leader.This Open set a record for sup-par rounds at 89; the previous record was 66 in 1988. The par-72 Pete Dye-designed course was set at 6,311 yards (5,771 m), the third-longest in the championship's 48-year history. Only nine rounds were under par on Sunday.Two years earlier, Crooked Stick was the venue for the PGA Championship, won by John Daly. It later hosted the Solheim Cup matches in 2005, won by the United States.

The 9th Solheim Cup Match was held September 9–11, 2005 at Crooked Stick Golf Club, Carmel, Indiana, a suburb north of Indianapolis. The United States won the trophy for the sixth time by a score of 151⁄2 to 121⁄2 points. The winning point was gained by Meg Mallon in her win over Karen Stupples.

Crooked Stick Golf Club is a golf club located in Carmel, Indiana, a suburb north of Indianapolis. The 18-hole Pete and Alice Dye designed golf course was built in 1964. It has been noted as one of the top 100 courses in the United States by Golfweek and Golf Magazine, two of golf's most popular magazines. Crooked Stick was host to the PGA Championship in 1991 won by John Daly and the U.S. Women’s Open in 1993, won by Lauri Merten. It also hosted the Solheim Cup matches in 2005. Crooked Stick also hosted the PGA Tour's BMW Championship in 2012 and 2016, when Dustin Johnson won with a record breaking -23.

WTHR (channel 13) is a television station in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States, affiliated with NBC. It is owned by Tegna Inc. alongside low-power, Class A MeTV affiliate WALV-CD (channel 46). Both stations share studios on North Meridian Street (south of I-65) in downtown Indianapolis, while WTHR's transmitter is located near Ditch Road and West 96th Street in Carmel.

WALV-CD (channel 46) is a low-power, Class A television station in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States, affiliated with MeTV. It is owned by Tegna Inc. alongside NBC affiliate WTHR (channel 13). Both stations share studios on North Meridian Street (south of I-65) in downtown Indianapolis, while WALV-CD's transmitter is located near Ditch Road and West 96th Street (near I-465) in Carmel. The MeTV programming is mirrored on WTHR's 13.3 subchannel. WALV has been associated with WTHR since it was put on the air in May 1991. Originally simulcasting channel 13 with occasional breaks for specific local and alternate programs, it operated as a secondary station with its own programming known as "27 Alive" from 1994 to 2000. The launch of 27 Alive included several dedicated local newscasts from WTHR. It was converted to the SkyTrak Weather Network, featuring news and weather information, and continued to air this programming until affiliating with Cozi TV in 2013. It is still occasionally used for overflow programming from WTHR.

Clay Township is one of nine townships in Hamilton County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 83,293 and it contained 32,375 housing units. Since the annexation of Home Place, Indiana; Carmel is now completely coterminous with the township.

University High School (UHS) is a small independent college preparatory school. The school is located in Carmel, Indiana. University's campus is 115 acres and consists of two buildings, Fairbanks Hall and Andrews Hall. It consists of athletic fields and a tennis complex. They also have a computer laboratory, multiple science labs, a theater, a gymnasium, and music and art facilities.

The Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc., formerly named Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator, Inc. (MISO) is an Independent System Operator (ISO) and Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) providing open-access transmission service and monitoring the high-voltage transmission system in the Midwest United States and Manitoba, Canada and a southern United States region which includes much of Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana. MISO also operates one of the world's largest real-time energy markets. The 15 states covered by MISO are: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin.

Home Place is a neighborhood within the city of Carmel, Indiana, in the United States. Home Place was previously an unincorporated community of 1,017 acres (412 ha) in Clay Township, Hamilton County, Indiana, that had resisted annexation attempts by Carmel since 2004. However, in June 2016, a special judge ruled that residents of Home Place had failed to meet all the requirements to prevent the annexation, and that Carmel could move forward with the annexation. After that decision was upheld by the Indiana Court of Appeals in October 2017, representatives of the Home Place residents reached an agreement with city leaders. On March 1, 2018, Carmel completed the annexation of the Home Place community.
